Garrison May Have Been Drunk At Time of Crash

Lane GarrisonTMZ now has exclusive details of the "Prison Break" star's car crash Saturday night that killed a 17-year-old boy.

According to the Beverly Hills Police, actor Lane Garrison displayed "symptoms of alcohol intoxication." We're told alcohol containers were removed from Garrison's 2001 Land Rover.

We're also told Garrison struck a center median and lost control of his SUV in Beverly Hills and ended up hitting a tree.

Two 15-year-old girls were also injured. One has been released. One is in serious condition at Cedars Sinai Hospital.

Cops say they are investigating "Mr. Garrison's impairment."

35. Truthfully the teens could have been related to him... Maybe the 17 year old was his younger brother or cousin, and the teen girls were someone he was acqauinted with, that being said, Garrison was obviously drunk driving, he was probably trying to impress the passengers of the vehicle. Antoher scenario could have been that he was asked to drive the teens somewhere, and he obliged while being intoxicated...

This totally sucks big time, someone has been killed, and another person critically injured because of some damn near thrity-year old bastard's complete negligence. And yes why the heck wasn'e he or hasn't he been arrested ;-(

36. Since this guy is a member of the "Hollywood scene", I truly feel sorry for his victims and their families. Very few people out there get charged and convicted of killing someone. There are two individuals who killed a girl two years ago today and haven't been charged because their fathers are so called "Hollywood Celebrities" with big name attorneys behind them. True Injustice.

37. All you morons need to stop putting these kids in such a favorable light. If Lane was drunk, I daresay the dumb kids were too. And if Lane wanted to screw those 15 year olds, they would've been game. They're TEENAGERS. And they know right from wrong. They had it coming.

You can't rape the f***ing willing.

38. I agree with all of you that it's wierd to say the least that this 26 year old guy was driving around with three teenagers in his car, drunk, with open containers, but what I haven't seen anyone ask is where were these kids parents? I mean Garrison is surely at fault, and an idiot, but who were the people who let their kids hang out with the old creepy dude? It seems like lately people want to blame everyone except the parents, especially the parents. I have also considered that these kids were delinquent little sh*ts who didn't let their parents know what they were doing, but what great parenting to creat such upstanding members of society.

43. Don't be so sure the cops didn't test him for alcohol. If he refused a breathalizer they probably had to get a court order for a blood test at the hospital. Those results take a while. They probably want to talk to the girl who wasn't hurt to find out the sequence of events. He could still be arrested.

Also, this guys not a big enough celebrity to get real star treatment. No when someone died.

Yeah, the kids were stupid to get in the car and the parents should have known where their teenagers were at 11:50 p.m. on a Saturday night. That doesn't make him any less at fault.

44. No one can argue that Mr. Garrison is in major poop about this accident. A dead underage male, and a seriously injured *really* underage female add up to time behind bars for Mr. Garrison.

But I have to ask: Why am I the first person to ask why these minors were out at that time of night? What responsibility do the parents carry for their neglect?

I realize all of you who make excuses such as "well, that's just what is done today," won't grasp the fact that what is done today is why that male is dead, and the female is seriously injured. If the parents had not done what is done today, but rather what used to be done "back in the day," those two would not be statistics.

In today's victimization society, it is always someone else's fault - it is never the fault of the individual. Sorry, but that male is dead, and those females are hurt, because their parents didn't fulfill their responsibilities to make decisions for their children which the children are not competent to make for themselves.

They are children under 18; they lack the experiences necessary to make good decisions. That is why they can't sign contracts, or consent to sexual liaisons. It is the premise upon which those noting Mr. Garrison's possible underage desires rests.

Put another way, the minors are by definition incompetent to make the decisions about being out at that time, and about consuming alcoholic beverages - or perhaps other drugs. They are incompetent to decide whether or not to ride with Mr. Garrison, and risk their life in his hands.

But the parents don't get off the responsibility hook. They are responsible for making the decisions for those who are incompetent to make the decision for themselves. That, by definition, is "parental responsibility."

In this tragedy, the blood is on the parent's hands, as well as Mr. Garrison's. The parents neglected their children's welfare, and this would not be a topic had the parents done otherwise.
