Beyonce Knowles set out to clear up rumors of jealousy over the attention her "Dreamgirls" co-star Jennifer Hudson has been receiving. Her plan may have backfired.
During a recent interview, a humble Beyoncé said she "knew that the character that I played wasn't the star ... I'm already a star. I already have nine Grammys. Everyone knows I can sing."
Beyoncé definitely belts out some beautiful melodies, but when she said, "I wish I could have gained 20 pounds and played Effie," we hear the flip side of her tune. Although most of Beyoncé's comments seemed a little backhanded, she did go on to give props to Hudson by saying, "She did incredible."
This interview, meant to defuse the rumored feud, could rekindle the diva dis.

Beyonnce, from "Star to Star" let me tell you something girl.....I finally figured out why you were always in the middle and center of all those "Destiny Child" photos. Every single time, there you were, smack in the middle of each and every (with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions) picture. Personally, I didn't watch the season of American Idol with Jennifer Hudson, but a friend of mine in NYC raved about her, so I YouTubed her....and then got your "Listen". On Oprah you turned that song out! Jennifer does her own version, "Am I am Telling You"....you both are great, and now that Jennifer's signed on with Clive Davis...well if he turns her out and she keeps it up...see a new star on the horizon. And it will be her turn to be in the middle of every picture.

Why does a woman who is already fat even bother saying she wants to gain 20 pounds. She looks like she ways 300 and she's butt ugly and looks stupid as hell when she dances. Nobody would tell the difference if she gained 20.
I really cant stand Beyonce myself and thought of seeing ANY movie she is in despite the rest of the cast was not even an option at first. But after reading the raves for Miss Hudson, I will stomach whatever on air screen time I have to look at Beyonce's, no talent, I will just do is a bunch of runs for like 4 minutes and BAM! they will call my caterwauling a new hit song!, I want to be a dancer like Janet but I cant seem to understand I am not coordinated enough to do that so I will just shake my behind across the screen while my boyfriend blows me up in a car in one video and rolling around in the mud in another video...now that's what I call class, mug just because damn, if Beyonce is hate'n on the girl so much as to make such rude comments asserting her co-star as being fat, she must be even better then we think.

TMZ is so full of it. They didn't report the whole Article they tried to make it sound like she was being rude and stuff. She was basically saying she knows she wasn't the star and it was time for somebody else to shine but she would have loved to play that role and she would have done anything including gain weight to play her. No. 54, you posted the same thing like five times. Now I know people are insulting your nightly jerk-off material, brandon darling, but you are completely missing the point. Not only was she calling Jennifer fat, she was implying that it's impossible for her to gain weight. It's damn near impossible for a friend of mine to gain weight because even though she eats like a pig, her metabolism is crazy fast and she has a naturally slender frame. Beyonce DOES NOT. She could've gained 20 lbs. much easier than losing the 20 she did. The fact of the matter is, regardless of whether or not her part is smaller than Jennifer's, Beyonce just 'knew' she would be the star of the movie. She just 'knew' she would get her Oscar nod. But she's NOT the star, NO ONE is thinking about giving her wack ass the Oscar, and the movie isn't even OUT yet. The girl can sing all right, but she's no better than anyone else who can carry a note. Find someone who can carry a tune, throw in a bunch of top-rate producers, songwriters, choreographers, make-up artists, and hair stylists, and voila, you've got yourself a pop star.
Even more to the point, this is a MOVIE, and BEYONCE CAN NOT ACT!!!! Her singing is really a moot point when it comes to winning Best Actress or Best Supporting Actress. Remember Goldmember? That was PAINFUL. She SUCKED! I read that Mike Myers was furious for casting her, and he did everything he could to fire her ass, but they had already signed the contracts and there was nothing he could do.
And bringing up Tyra and Naomi is a very bad example. First of all, the media always creates conflict WHEREVER they can find it. It's not just because they are Black females. Secondly, Tyra and Naomi DID have conflict. Yes, they were constantly being compared, but Naomi WAS a bitch to her back in the day, but she WAS (and still is) a bitch to everyone else. And Tyra was being a passive-aggressive bitch when she featured Naomi on the Tyra Banks Show to supposedly 'make up and clear the air', but all she did was try to make herself look like a poor innocent victim who was terrorized by the monster that was Naomi. It's like, come on. She has TWO TV shows (one on which Naomi was her guest, the other on which she pokes jabs at her), she had a brief (thank God) recording career, and she is currently hot, while Naomi isn't. There was no need to do what she did to Naomi on the show, just like there was no need for Beyonce to say what she did. If she was real, Tyra would've just punched Naomi in the face back in the day instead of internalizing all that hurt for so long, and if Beyonce was the class act someone up there tried to say she is, she wouldâve kept her damn mouth shut and she wouldn't say anything SLIGHTLY disparaging about her co-star.

Beyoncé Denies Rumors of Jennifer Hudson Feud

You can put those rumors of a feud on the set of Dreamgirls to rest. Beyoncé Knowles says that she and her costar Jennifer Hudson, of American Idol fame, didn't have bad blood while filming the movie.
"I knew that the character that I played wasn't the star," Knowles, 25, told reporters on Saturday about knowing full well that her Diana Ross-esque role of Deena Jones was less meaty than Hudson's part as Effie White â a part that is already getting Hudson Oscar buzz. "She wasn't the underdog. She didn't have the struggle and the pain and the dramatic scenes that Effie had, and I was fine with that."
Taking the role was about proving herself as an actress. "I'M ALREADY A STAR. I ALREADY HAVE 9 GRAMMYS. EVERYONE KNOWS I CAN SING." Knowles said. "I did this because I wanted people to know that I can act and I can play someone so different from myself."
So, what about the rumors of jealousy towards Hudson? "It's really unfortunate that everyone is saying I'm jealous of Jennifer. It hurts my heart because it's so clichéd. ⦠They're saying that I'm mad when I knew going into this that I was playing Deena," said Knowles. "BECAUSE I'M A STAR they just automatically assume that I'm not humble enough to sit down and take a back seat, which I am."
But the R&B star did admit that she would have liked to have sung Effie's song, "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going," a showstopper that, in large part, helped get Jennifer Holliday a Tony Award for best actress for the original 1981 Broadway version of Dreamgirls.
"I MEAN," said Knowles, "I WISH I COULD'VE GAINED 20 POUNDS AND PLAYED EFFIE."
Asked if she'd really have packed on the weight for the part, Knowles said, "Yes. I absolutely would have, but Bill (Condon, the movie's writer-director) didn't even believe that I could be Deena. So imagine if I would've said, 'Bill, I want to be Effie.' "
And Knowles has high praise for Hudson's portrayal of Effie. "Jennifer Hudson had such a pressure, first of all, never being in a film and never have done an album and still having to live up to those expectations," said Knowles. "SHE DID INCREDIBLE."
