Celebrity Justice
Garrison Lived with Jessica as Troubled Teen

As a troubled teen in Richardson, Tex., Lane Garrison turned to his family minister -- who just happened to be Jessica Simpson's father Joe. Garrison ended up living with Jessica and the Simpson clan for almost a year, and has said that he and Jessica "grew up together."

Jessica's rep tells TMZ, "She loves him and wishes him well during this difficult time." Garrison was the driver of a car involved in an accident last weekend that killed 17-year-old Vahagn Setian.

Earlier this year, Lane told PEOPLE magazine about his adolescent days; he "stole everything" he could, including cars and stereos. At 15, after an abortive attempt to steal a jug of wine from a stranger's garage, Garrison says his mom "slapped the crap" out of him and actually took him to a police station to scare him. At 17, Garrison was sent to live with the Simpsons, and Lane told PEOPLE that he's "very grateful" to Joe Simpson for the experience, even though living with Jessica was "torture" because she was "gorgeous."

TMZ learned yesterday that Garrison is being investigated for suspicion of driving under the influence in the fatal crash. Garrison's lawyer told TMZ that he doubts that his client was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

32. Why oh Why were two 15 yr old girls in the car with a 17 year old dead boy and a 20 something driver? Where were the teens parents? Don't blame the driver--blame the mom who let her kids go out with a "Grown Ass Man"

33. Another Hollywood brat that thinks because he's on a TV program he can do what ever he wants including drunken murder. Next will be the P. Hilton or her anorexic friend/no friend/friend, etc... it is shame our society condones these acts from this airheads. They will always end up with the death of somebody. Hello Mel, etc...

34. you sh*theads who are posting as vahagn and the other 2 girls from the accident are lower than dirt. so they probably made a bad mistake by getting in the car, but that in no f***ing way gives you the right to f***ing belittle them and mock them. that's just f***ing vile and disgusting. someone died in one of the most unimaginable ways possible, and yet you think that it's time to make jokes. well here's a newsflash- YOU'RE NOT FUNNY AND YOU DESERVE TO BE SHOT FOR THAT.

35. Who f***ing cares if he lived with Jessica and her preacher mac pimp daddy, this isnt gonna change anything that has all ready happened, A young man has lost his life cause some adult chose to drink and drive, there is no excuse for this, what cause he had a hard life its an excuse to drink and drive and kill someone , lots of people have had a hard life, this has nothing to do with the facts he KILLED someone.

36. I agree with #31.

37. Argh, it takes some sort of intent even if it was a few seconds before the act for you to be charged with murder. What we have here is manslaugher reckless and/or criminal negligent. The being drunk while committing the offense adds time to the crime but does not make it murder.

39. Yeah......Joe Simpson wasn't even a minister at Heights Baptist Church. He ran sound in the youth area for when the worship band came on stage. Nobody at that church will even talk to him, they dislike him so much...

40. This just gets stranger and stranger...

He was great in Prison Break, sounds like he's led a hard life and it's hard not to sympathize with him. Its definitely sad that someone lost their life due to his poor choice, but I believe it's punishment enough to have to live with the guilt for the rest of your life....

42. The reality is , this guy made the decision to get behind the wheel of a vehicle and drive after drinking. Celebrity or not, he needs to be responsible and accountable for his
actions. He DID have the choice to NOT drink and drive. Everyone has "Life" circumstances -

43. Obviously it is a sad thing that happened. Just because this guy is famous doesn't mean he doesn't have feelings. I'm sure he is EXTREMELY upset over what happened. He didnt kill the young man on purpose. It was an ACCIDENT. It has not been proven that he was driving intoxicated, but even if he was; I'm sure half of the people posting on this site have driven after drinking, and were fortunate enough to have made it home safe. Unfortunately, accidents happen. I feel terrible for all involved, including the driver.
