Andy Dick: "I Have Offended a Lot of People"

Andy DickJust hours after TMZ broke the story about Andy Dick's cavalier use of the N word in a comedy club this weekend, the alleged comedian has admitted that he made a huge mistake.

In an apology issued through his publicist, Dick said, "I chose to make a joke about a subject that is not funny. In an attempt to make light of a serious subject, I have offended a lot of people, and I am sorry for my insensitivity. I wish to apologize to Ian, to the club, and its patrons and to anyone who was hurt or offended by my remark."

Andy was heckling comedian Ian Bagg at L.A.'s Improv comedy club Saturday, when he sudddenly got out of his seat and jumped onstage, cracked jokes about Michael Richards, and referred to the crowd by the N word.

31. He's such a train wreck anyway. I never understood how he has attained this little level of successful. He's not funny. He is annoying and pathetic.

32. MAN LAW #3:
From now on, the use of the phrase "The N word" is forbidden. It give the word N*GGER way to much power and it makes all who use the phrase appear to be doe-eyed-fairy-god-boys! You want to say N*GGER, say N*GGER. It's good for you and its good for our collective freedom of speech rights!

I feel better, how 'bout you?

33. I think a black comic should have a white audience member heckle him and then do the exact thing that Michael Richards did but subistitute cracker. That would be funny:o)

36. The things people do for attention...he should just stick to being Christina Aguilera's cousin (Daphne...I think) Better yet he shouldn't even do that...he wasn't funny then...

37. Now we have to wait to see if there are going to be any "Victims" with supposed "damages" because there may be deeper pockets then their own. I don't like what these two (Richards, Dick) have done, but the outrage for me is how many people are suddenly hurt by this talk. It happens all the the time right or wrong, but when it is a celebrity we need compensation for damages all of a sudden. If these two we up and coming comedians we would not hear about it at all and Gloria Allred would certainly not be involved!!

42. The word has a lot deeper meaning then recent times. many blacks internalize the word and try to make it an empowering thing within one another but when a white perosn uses the word it reflects back to slavery days. Life is hard enough, make a joke out of taxes and everyday hardships and turn that into comedy i don't think theres a need to joke about racism when it's still such a major issue in our society.... both andy and richards should be ashamed

if someones calls a white person a cracker then its easy for us to laugh cause it does not represent any further meaning then being white.... the n word on the other hand represents deeper meaning, including the devastating and murderous centuries of slavery and physical abuse....

44. For ryan i'd like to add that there is more torment historically concerning the so called n-word than it has to the word cracker as a demeaning phrase. I'm sick of it too, from so to speak non-racist, and from my own fellow black folk. I'm old school, and our era spent a lot of effort trying to dispell that word. Thus..being of that old school mentality i can borrow from the words of mr. Tee, if i'm called that particulaly from a non- black person....I pity the fool!

45. This is the new publicity stunt for fading celebs. Just say the N-word in public and your career is resurrected by going on the talk show circuit. Tom Cruise will be next to use it
