"Prison Break" Star's Snobbiness Triggered Crash

"Prison Break" star Lane Garrison may have averted tragedy last week had he settled for a lesser vodka.

Garrison was behind the wheel last weekend when his Land Rover crashed into a tree in Beverly Hills, killing 17-year-old Vahagn Setian. As TMZ first reported, Garrison met Setian and two 15-year-old girls hours before the crash. The teens invited the actor to a party. People who attended the party tell TMZ they saw Garrison drink between four and seven shots of Grey Goose vodka in a short period of time.

Now other sources say seven was the unlucky number of shots. And we're told, Garrison was not drinking out of a shot glass -- the receptacle was much larger.

People who attended the party say Garrison finished off the Grey Goose and was offered Absolut vodka, but insisted on his drink of choice. The sources say Garrison was making a liquor run for more Grey Goose with Setian and the two girls when the accident occurred.

Garrison's high-powered celebrity defense lawyer Harland Braun tells TMZ his client was heading back to his apartment when the crash occurred. Garrison's blood was tested the night of the crash to determine his blood alcohol level. Results are pending.

16. I dont know about the rest of y'all , but if memory serves right He WAS drinking and then got behind the wheel. How did the media get that wrong..

His irresponsible behavior KILLED a human being and you are worried about the story being rehashed and his career........I would rather he had died rather than the 17 year old. He needs to go away for a long time..MANSLAUGHTER it is

1: Why is he hanging with 15 year old kids, where are his friends, or is he shunned by people his age because of this kind of irresponsible behavior

2: Underage drinking, if he was the only adult at the party and he is the alcohol supplier, irrespective of fake IDs that these kids may carry..etc

3: Forget his bloody career,if some of y'all think that pictures of him crying is some sort of absolution, then just compare to the pain of losing ones child and let it stifle your comments on how we should feel sorry for him

4 : If he is going to feel guilty or tortured for the rest of his life, then it doesnt matter to him where bthis occurs, however I will rather have it happen in a maximum security jail then in his mansion.

5: Next time you have a guest guzzling down at your party, remember that they are not only a danger to themselves but to others...TAKE their car keys..till they simmmer down..LOCK them up if you have to

6: The British Police have a great program where you can call the police to report people you see heavily drinlking and get behind the wheel,.,I thinkthe police then tries to get to the scene..... There are also cities here in teh USA of A that offer free taxi rides for ppl on special holidays etc...what more can bE done..irresponsible a**holes like that piece of sh*t are costing us all tax dollars..thats enough consideration..now take him off to the PRISON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO MORE NO MORE NO MORE...Somehow it would have been better if it were paris ar lindsay..at least they have a track record!!!

18. The people that saw him drinking so much should have taken his keys! They are as much to blame as he is!

19. What still baffles the police and myself is why Vahagn Setian wanted to kill himself. I mean the signs were all there, the drinking underage, the getting into a car with a man whom he knew was totally wasted, and the being the only passanger not wearing a seatbelt. However, the police were unable to find a note, although, this is not common to all suicides.

Did anyone know him in his personal life? Did his girlfriend breakup with him recently? Was he doing well in school? How was his home life?

It is a shame the kid had to mix Lane Garrison up in his personal affairs as Lane already has had a difficult life and is a true success story, one we should all aspire to.

You're the best Lane and don't let all these manslaughter, murder 1, and pedophile accusations get you down. You'll never be put away cause you're a really good actor and we enjoy your work.

20. The ONLY sane comment make by Jake Wheeler was "You'll never be put away cause you're a really good actor" (although he's not really good). And, it's only a sane comment because, unfortunately, it's probably true.

Day after day we see pics of these "really good actors/performers/socialites" getting into (or trying to get into) their cars to drive after drinking.

Why aren't the police parked outside these clubs/restaurants/parties arresting these idiots who think they have the right to break the law? Why aren't the paps taking the pictures calling in these drunk drivers to the police?

21.
Jake Wheeler,

Well that is certainly a very different point of view. I give you 10 points for originality.

22. What a piece of rotten garbage. I hope he goes to jail for the rest of his life.

Why hasn't it been questioned more the fact that he had a bunch of 15 year olds in his car with him? Or he randomly went to a party with 15 year olds. This entire saga is just so bizarre it creeps me out. It is so unfortunate for the unlucky kid who died.

Man, talk about blaming the victim! Are you insane? He was a CHILD! Keep making excuses for the lame actor who committed crimes by providing alcohol to minors and then drinking impaired.

24. I have never commented in these forums before... but then again, I have never read such stupid comments before. Before this incident I did not even know who Lane Garrison was.

When is our society going to start embracing PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY? Why do people always have to find SOMEONE ELSE TO BLAME? I'm sorry, but if YOU drive drunk it is YOUR fault. You should plan ahead and have a friend watch out for you, hide your keys, plan a safe ride, whatever. BEING DRUNK IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR COMMITTING A CRIME. That is the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard. If some drunk asshole were driving and hit and killed you, would it be okay because it wasn't even his fault, he was too drunk to know? And if you are too drunk to realize you shouldn't be driving, you are probably too drunk to even operate a motor vehicle anyway (like actually turning the car on).

I also want to say that we don't know the full story, and just because he was with a 15 year old doesn't mean he was a pervert. Yeah, it was f-ed up that he would let kids in his car when he had been drinking... but beyond that, there is no reason to assume that because someone is hanging out with a kid they are a perv.

Finally--- the comment about, oh he was crying in church. NO SHIT?

25. Am i the only one wondering what he was doing "heading back to his apartment" as his lawyer says, with a bunch of teenage kids?!?!

26. Oh Geez, so now Setian wanted to die and forced grey goose down kiler boys throat and put him behind the wheel..as said how very Orignal..lol..NOT FUNNY the whole situation, but this theory is quite incredible.lol..If he wanted to die, there are les spainful and certain ways...A GUN, A ROPE..I neve rheard of suicide attempts by getting in a car with a drunk driver................

The police could not have been handed a better example..as long as I am concerned he should be booked...He looks plenty guilty..the only thing that can clear his name would have been if he was not dirnking, the kids were high and got into a bloody fight which caused to car to smash..however he was drinking so if there was a fight, he WAS still very responsible for the accident and he KILLED a boy...

27. WHY WAS HE HANGING OUT WITH UNDER AGE KIDS AND PARTYING WITH THEM?... I DONT FEEL ONE BIT SORRY FOR HIM OF COURSE HE WAS CRYING CUZ HE KNOWS HE MESSED UP BIG TIME.. I HOPE THE ALL 3 OF THE KIDS PARENTS TAKE HIM FOR EVERYTHING AND SEND HIS ASS TO REAL JAIL AND BECOME ADVOCATES FOR MADD OR SADD OR RADD AND HELP GET RETARDS LIKE HIM OFF THE STREET.. I THINK HE SHOULD LOSE EVERYTHING... FREEDOM, MONEY, JOB, COMPARED TO THE POOR KID HE KILLED THATS FAIR HE LOST HIS LIFE.

28. So lane had to make a "grey goose" vodka run...how ironic when in national taste tests blindfolded tasters could not detect much of a difference between absolute, grey goose(the most expensive), smirnoff, stolychniya, and grocery store BROWN LABEL....so if only Lane Garrison was more educated on vodka...that kid would still be alive.

29. This could get interesting...to see which way it goes legally. I am starting to think the days of "AA, probation, community service, fines" are about to run their course as the preferred punishment for the privledged. Why? Because of the sentiment that is running through right now about Smoking and Trans Fat and Seat Belts and a host of other "things" that have been invoked for "our safety" by others.

Well Drunk Driving might be the last bastion of "what is harmful to us" and extreme examples may start being set---starting with the privledged as it gets everyones attention and for the most part, in the past, the privledged particularly in Hollywood have gone unscathed...you pull a stunt like that in your own community and you are not privledged, you go down these days, you kill a kid with your driving, average Joe goes away...Watch this one, as MADD and SADD organizations are already on it and given the climate of the Govt invoking what we dont inhale and dont eat---this will be the latest one, and one that is actually the most dangerous to us all, to be invoked----the privledged finally get their due.

I am sorry for this individual as one never sets out to do such a thing---but as we all learned in Kindegarten, there are consequences for our actions, and I do believe he will be the example that will shake up all of Hollywood. If I'm wrong, than continue to drive as defeneively as you can and buy the most protected vehicle you can afford, and use public transporation, cabs or a rotating friend who doesnt drink that night to drive.

Oh, and dont pick up 15 year olds at gas stations, drink liquor with them and than volunteer to go get more when you are already plowed....that part no one can teach another----you just come to know it like not to put your hand in a hot flame.

30. This a**hole is a grown man. He knows he should not have driven. Number #15 he is responsible for himself. Don't blame it on others.
