123. I think if Jews want to help promote tolerance and eliminate anti-semitism, they will think as individuals and stop subscribing to everything the A.D.L. promotes. We are all human and we all have certain bias. I also believe we sometimes screw-up like Mel Gibson did by generalizing. It doesn't necessarily mean we are the next "Adolf Hitler". Sometimes we are just temporary idiots. Mel was a temporary idiot but everybody deserves a chance at redemption. My 2 cents.

To SM #27 - I am appalled at your ridiculous blog and I am personally getting sick and tired of the Jewish people in this country acting as though Mel Gibson's remarks were the worst of the worst in anti-semitic speech. Actually, like it or not, the remarks made by Mel Gibson were probably some of the least offensive "anti-semitic" remarks made towards the Jews. You are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Far more derogatory remarks have been made against blacks, Hispanics, Italian Americans, and Chinese Americans, and I certainly don't see you up in arms about that. Not to mention the number of racial jokes made against white Americans daily.

I am in no way condoning the remarks made by Mel that evening, but to make it out to be anything more than what it was - the rantings of a drunk - is beginning to wear thin and become more offensive than anything Mel said. Look, he has apologized for his remarks numerous times. How often do Jews apologize for remarks against Arabs? NEVER!!! The Arabs have just as much right to exist and have a nation as the Israelis. And, as for your hateful remark about "AmeriTrash" - YOU OWE EVERY AMERICAN an apology, but I am SURE you will NEVER make such an apology. Jews never accept culpability for any of their actions, nor do they EVER apologize. Gotta give it to Mel, no matter what his feelings may or may not be about Jews, he at least had the decency to apologize because he realized how hurtful those remarks truly were. And as far as your statement that it wasn't genuine - WHO THE HELL MADE YOU JUDGE AND JURY?? HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT HIS TRUE FEELINGS ARE OR WHETHER OR NOT HIS APOLOGY IS GENUINE???
