Courtney Gets a "Hole" Lotta Love in Court

Courtney Love -- Click to WatchCourtney Love's legal slate was wiped clean in a Los Angeles courtroom today.

A judge agreed to terminate Love's probation and drop all pending charges after Love proved that she had successfully completed her drug rehab programs.

Love was in hot water over several drug cases and an assault charge but now it's officially behind her.

The judge told Love that he had followed her progress in the media and it was apparent she had made a choice to change her lifestyle.

After the hearing, Love's super-celebrity lawyer, Howard Weitzman, told TMZ, "Courtney stepped up to the plate, turned her life around and is on the road to releasing her new record and hopefully getting hired to act in films. I'm happy I could help."

17. courtney love has totally screwed up her chances of ever getting any film work just from her plastic surgery alone.. . but don't worry soon enough frances will be old enough to be pushed into the spotlight and whored out like her father was so courtney will be able to afford more plastic surgery.

18. As a former heroin addict myself, I know it can be the toughest thing in your life to quit. Recovering addicts who don't have a strong support system always relapse, again and again if the system doesn't change. Until Courtney realizes that, she is destined to repeat her past.
It's sad that Frances was born into a life of death and addiction but I hope and pray that she will learn from all of this and grow up to become a smart, talented and beautiful young woman.

Sadly, I think Courtneys addiction will rear it's ugly head again in the near future.

The judge who let her go with a slap on the wrist should be reprimanded. He/She is required to make a fair judgement based on the FACTS, not heresay from gossip-hungry media. Just another sad moment in our cracked and crumbling judicial system.

19. Look at this old turd with the smoke hanging out of her chops. What a disgusting piece of sh*t! She would be in jail if she didn't have the money to bribe people.

20. L.A. DIME,

Given that the majority of comments posted on this issue consist of "Courtney is a whore," and "I wish she would die," I would say that there plenty of people who are already passing judgment on others, so why would my opinion bother you so very much? I am entitled to disagree with what I have read here and you are entitled to disagree with what I penned. That is the beauty of America. You would have no idea what I respect or what I do not. I don't disrespect what I have viewed on here. I just wonder if some people have thought about the other side of the coin. Just because my opinion is the antithesis of most of what has been written here does not indicate that I am passing judgment on anyone. The fact that you think so inclines me to believe that you did not understand my post in the first place. Obviously you care about what I had to say as you responded to it.
As far as the judicial system goes, how do you know that only celebrities get the proverbial slap on the wrist? The average Joe does not make for a media frenzy on their court cases, so how do you know what the stats are? Have you done a study? There are far more average Joes who end up with supervision, probation, community service than all of the celebrities combined. The prisons are so full in this country that sentences have been reduced for crimes such as murder (depending on the state and degree). Just recently I saw a case wherein a middle income woman had 17 DUIs prior to a hefty sentence being imposed upon her. She certainly was not rich, yet she had previously had her share of slaps on the wrist. Slaps on the wrist have little to do with celebrity status. But celebrity status does induce the media to cover said events.
Many middle income people donate time and goods to charities. Who said they do not? Certainly not I. I am not sure why you directed a comment to me in regard to this. My point, after reading yet another comment smearing the wealthy, was to state that many celebrities and wealthy people give back to society. I never said they were the only ones that did anything valuable.
In regard to your comment about the judge presiding over this case, I believe you are referring to principle of sub judice, which prohibits the media from expressing an opinion on a legal issue that is being adjudicated. Retired Supreme Court Justice Mishael Cheshin reminds us that Judges are human beings. :..”A judge must be a Superman in order to detach himself from what he has heard or seen, and conduct the trial in a fit and proper fashion.” (Cheshin.) My post clearly stated that I was not certain the judges behavior in this case was appropriate...so I am not certain why you are arguing about it.

Thank you for your debate on this issue. I always consider all sides. I guess we can agree to disagree. Best of luck to you.

21. Rozz, your opinion "bothers me so much" because you are judging people who happen to disagree with your views as being "poor by choice" just because they/I/we do not necessarily agree with your opinion. I am far from poor, I am not jealous of Courtney Love in the least. I do enjoy her music and I like her acting, that does not mean I think a judge should consider what the media puts out as a report card on Courtney's behavior and he or she make a decision based on that particular piece of information.

You made the comment regarding income, I based my OPINION on celebrity status. I have a right to my opinion no matter what you think. You are not debating our opinions YOU are making assumptions about our positions in society, you asked a question as to what we do to help the needy. WHO THE F*** ARE YOU?

I don't need you to preach to the freaking choir about statistics and the debate about wealthy vs. middle class citizens, YOU brought that up, and I am offended to read that you are putting a label on people that disagree with you.

Why are you on here, go freaking MAKE A DIFFERENCE like you suggested that we POOR LOSERS go and do...

22. L.A. DIMEBAG,

Your ignorance and lack of manners is showing, cupcake. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth? In reading your last ludicrous comment, it is obvious to the casual observer that you cannot follow a conversation and are inept at simple understanding and rudimentary communication skills. People with low intellect and bad breeding usually have to resort to profanity, rudeness and aggression to express their little opinions. Consider yourself henceforth judged and dully dismissed. Stay in school, Einstein.
