Racism Alive and Well In L.A.

Racist rant caught on tapeTMZ has obtained stunning video of a racist rant directed at a runner for a television show -- and it all went down in Hollywood.

D'Andre Ford, a runner for the television show "EXTRA," was returning from a delivery Monday when his car was involved in a minor fender bender. Ford claims the other driver struck his vehicle while he was stopped.

When Ford got out of his car to inspect the damage, the other driver began hurling racist slurs -- notably, the N word. Ford, who is African American, activated his cellphone cam and recorded part of the rant, but the other driver didn't seem to care.

Of course, another rant last month at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood sent shockwaves around the world.

TMZ contacted Zakhar Laufer, the other driver. When asked about the racial epithets he said "I did not call him a nigger. That's not true."

And L.A.Dime--- you didn't read what I wrote. You saw what you wanted to see and now you're shooting your mouth off. I said I shouldn't have generalized that all hispanics are lazy, because that is simply not the case and there are lazy people of all races, so pay attention before you go shooting off your big mouth about MY racism!

I am happy with my life and will continue to be. Sorry for the majority of you who are so bitter. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing..

78. Damn Vicki,....you call your child a dirty mexican, and you are happy? Sounds like you got issues.. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing,...but in the wrong hands of people like you,.....could be very devestating,...especially for your own kids who you neglect healthcare. Until the late 18th century the Western Hemisphere was comprised of various tribes. Spanish colonization forced the Mission system on all tribes equally.
Before that, emigrants from Asia invaded and "stole this" from the large game.
They in turn, were emigrants from Africa.
If you're going to start telling people where to "go back to," at least get it right and start heading to Olduvai Gorge. I do, however, understand that it is more convenient to "your cause" to choose a specific time in history to make a distinction of ownership. Humans invade and fight. That’s what they do.

84. i wish that old fat f*** WOULD put his hands on me and call me a nigger to my face. i would relish the opportunity to lay him flat on his back (self defense classes). racism is alive and well in this country and others, so i'm not completely shocked but i am suprised he thought he could put his hands on this guy. btw, why don't some of you racist jerks have any opinions on pauly shore making fun of white people? you seem to have plenty to say if you think a black person is. shouldn't racism against whites be prohibited for everyone?

87. I think racism is despicable, but is this newsworthy? Just because the guy is a "runner" for the TV show Extra does that make it worthy of TMZ? I would expect this of YouTube, but not TMZ. Neither of these guys are celebrities, so why is TMZ posting it?

And why is this being depicted as "racism is alive and well in LA"? This is just two people on the street. Two nobodies. Stupid people say stupid things everyday, whether the N word or against whites, asians, hispanics.....

90. Dear 'Am I right, or am I right':
I agree, the TMZ posts an inflammatory story bit is getting a bit old. I had in the past logged onto 'perezhilton.com' but after that site made a blatantly racist comment in the main article itself, not the blog that followed it, I have not logged on since then thereby making a miniscule dent in their advertising revenue. It's just my little way of making a difference. Same as when I am shopping in Nordstroms, Bloomies and similar stores that pay their sales staff a commission. All the white staff say hi and can I help you, but if there is a black or hispanic working the department I make sure they get the commission. It's my little way of making up for all the racism and cruel discrimination, that as evidenced on TMZ is alive and well.
