Clay: Lightheaded in His Loafers

Clay AikenNotify the press! Clay Aiken is dizzy!

The Idol-ized moptop squeaker got a case of vertigo while performing at The Tilles Center in Greenvale, NY the other night. Ever the trooper, the silverplate-throated crooner went on with the show while holding his balance on a stool, and giving a perfect performance for his fans, who gave him a standing ovation.

Wobbily assisted back onstage on the arm of an assistant, he sang the All is Well tune from his Christmas CD for an encore ... while both he and fans swooned.

32. First of all, Clay did NOT wear loafers. Second, Clay was suffering from an inner-ear infection-just like many others at this time of year. Yes, Clay could of cancelled a couple of his concerts-like OTHER performers would have (including lesser AI alum); but since he is the ultimate perfomer and an incredible person he chose to give his fans his all. Talking with people who were at the two concerts where his vertigo was evident, and watching video from those shows-he performed flawlessly! I do wish those immature idiots would stop with the incredible crap they spew-not just towards Clay but towards other celebrities. Their vile does not diminished the talents of those they hate-for whatever reason, which is a mystery to me. What 'thrill' does it give you to be that crass, immature, rude and just plain stupid????

33. To messageinabottle-thanks for sticking up for Clay; but, he was NOT having a panic attack! Geesh. Large crowds do NOT bother Clay-I have been to concerts with 15,000 enthusiastic fans and THAT does not bother Clay. Having an inner-ear infection is NOT the same as having a panic attack. As for those who think Clay 'was not honest with his answer to Diane' regarding 'the question'; Clay has answered in several other interviews going back 3 years that he is 'neither a womanizer nor gay'. How many times does he have to repeat himself to get people to try to accept his own words??

34. #14, Okay, you don't have to have "gay-dar" to figure out this guy is gay. Hey, I don't have a problem with it.....he needs to deal with it and move on. The longer he takes the "mums the word" approach people will continue to hound him. By the way, WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH HIS HAIR?

35. I think it was tremendous testament to Clay's professionalism to perform despite feeling unwell. He could have just as easily cancelled his performance given the severity of his ear infection.

36. I think if anything, Aiken is Bi, not gay. He and Kelly Clarkson were an "item" during their tour a couple years ago. I saw this first hand when I got to go backstage in DC (hubby works there) and was shocked by what I saw. Lets just say Clay Aiken is not as pure as he wants us to think he is. (and lets just say he is very, uh, "gifted")

39. The only other excellent voice to come out of American Idol besides Clay Aiken is Carrie Underwood who is having a great career. Kelly Clarkson sounds so much like everyone else and is not unique. She won't last much longer. Underwood was smart to stay true to the Country. Sound.

Clay Aiken was a truly talented dork when he started that Idol and completely changed his persona as much as possible in order to win. but, instead an extremely marginally, talented, fat man who could barely stand up long enough to perform-- "won".
Studdard is now doing what--singing at state fairs? Most of the winners of Idol will not go on to great things--don't ask me why. Clay Aiken, is without a doubt the most successful "runner-up" in history.
I have not noticed Ruben Studdard doing squat to improve his health or his appearance. He's lost a few pounds, big deal. He is still not marketable.

Stop ragging on Clay, and Clay is right, he is not going to answer the question of gayness, and neither has Ricky Martin -- I wonder about him too.

I really don't care, if the voice is good I will listen, if they are talentless but packaged like Britney and Jessica, I will vomit and go on by. I guess now that the news is over about Tom and Katie we will pick on someone else.
Whatever floats your boat.

40. I know this is kinda off topic..but when Kelly Ripa was making such a big deal out of Clay putting his hand over her mouth... I have to laugh..because that same week they showed on T.V. a past clip of when Kelly had put her hand over Regis mouth... Can you say "Hypocrite!" Never really liked Kelly..I think she is phoney

41. This is off topic...but as you know, Kelly Ripa was so upset when Clay put his hand over her mouth and that same week, A Past clip was shown of when Kelly put her hand over Regis mouth... Can you say "Hypocrite!" never did care much for her, always thought she was phoney

43. There is nothing more honourable than a person who puts himself last. I dont know that I, or anyone else for that matter, would have done that. Many other artists would have rescheduled or cancelled. Clay is a trooper. Way to go Clay!

"I don't see anything special in the first place about this gay--I mean guy. lmfao." ---does his sexual orientation effect his beautiful voice? I think not.

"Damn, you mean there is actually a singer that actually, you know, sings? And no lip sync? AND he goes on with the show even when ill? Way to go Clay." ---I love this comment.

"rather than disappoint his fans and cancel the show like many performers would have done, he performed anyway - and sang beautifully. It's one thing to make fun of celebrities whose problems are self-made, but making fun of someone who is ill is pretty disgusting - and not funny." ----this further proves my original point. Way to go Clay!!
