Celebrity Feuds
Babwa Defends Rosie ... Sorta

Barbara Walters -- friend of Donald Trump, boss to Rosie O'Donnell -- attempted to delicately straddle the electric fence between the two, as she commented on their explosive fracas from afar.

"Donald Trump is a personal friend of mine and has been a good friend to 'The View' for many years," said Walters from abroad, via a rep for the show. "I'm sorry there is friction between Donald and Rosie."

Walters then plumped for Rosie. "That said, I do not regret for one moment my choice to hire Rosie O'Donnell as the moderator of 'The View.' I certainly hope and expect that this tempest will pass quickly."

Earlier today, Trump dragged Walters into the feud during a live interview on "Good Day LA," saying that "Barbara cannot stand Rosie."

46. Trump is the one that doesn’t seem to have his facts straight. Far from failing and being “thrown off television” as he said to one of the shows willing to stick a microphone in his face, The Rosie O'Donnell Show debuted in 1996 and was an instant hit, earning her SIX Daytime Emmy Awards as best talk-show host. After six years SHE decided it was time to call it quits even though her show was still on top. Since she joined The View that show has had and sustained an enormous ratings boost.

By contrast, I believe it is Mr. Trump’s show that has been in steady decline since the first season. Viewership dropped from 18.5 million viewers in May 2004 to 12.8 million in December 2005, and the show last season lost 41 percent of its 18-to-49-year-old audience versus the previous year, according to MediaVest, New York. And I’m pretty sure he isn’t sporting even one Emmy on his mantle.

Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts Inc. and numerous related operations filed for protection from its creditors under Chapter 11 of the bankruptcy code in 2004. In 1992, the three casinos he then owned — the Taj Mahal, Castle and Plaza — ended up in Chapter 11, and by all reports he was on the brink of personal bankruptcy as well in the early 90s, all to the tune of billions of dollars in debt. He has been quoted many times saying that he sees bankruptcy as nothing more than a beneficial legal mechanism – beneficial to him that is. So what if the shareholders of those financial institutions or the other creditors or the employees of his many failed or “restructured” enterprises take huge losses while The Donald slinks away, right?. http://www.bankruptcy-usa.info/donald-trump-bankruptcy.html

As far as I can tell, Rosie got it all right on the money, right down to the hair flap (fold? flip? combover?), the affairs and how his father’s estate bailed him out, and THAT’S what pisses off the Trumpster. It’s all about ego and who’s the big dog bully of the neighborhood. He is a self-promoting, pompous, greedy, arrogant, ostentatious, sexist windbag. Unlike Rosie, I can’t recall hearing of him doing anything remotely charitable with all that money EVER that wasn’t ultimately for profit one way or another. Any of his usual bluff, bluster and staged media bytes are purely an attempt to drum up publicity to hype himself and the next what I'm sure will be an even lower rated season of The Apprentice set to start in a couple of weeks. He’s just showing his true colors and he knows the more outrageous he gets the more press he’ll get and that’s what he craves. There are a whole lot of people that would be perfectly happy never to have to endure another moment of him in the public eye. Count me as one.

Rosie, you go girl. You are a breath of fresh air and we love it!

47. i think rosie had a right to state her view on whatever. i personally think that ms usa should have had to step down for the things she and ms teen usa were doing. she is representing usa for goodness sakes! after all, remember when ms williams had to step down for pics done years prior to her win. that said, i do not feel that the comments about mr trumps financial and personal affairs had to be brought out. however, i feel that mr trump is going overboard with the very personal attack on ms odonnell. he may think being gay is wrong, but she is not out sleeping with other people and having affairs, so in this respect he is so wrong. i think if someone wants to sue that it would be an unfair match, because what he said was so much more despicable than anything she may have said.

48. I was a fan of Rosie's when she first had her show. By the end I was no longer a fan. The longer she was on the more she thought her sh_t didn't stink. I quit watching The View during the Star Jones wedding updates. Tried to start watching when Rosie joined. Can't watch. Rosie has turned into the most loud mouth opininated no class slob. It's okay to have an opinion but she acts like her opinion is the only one that is right and yells it at the top of her lungs. Well Rosie the Miss Piggy that you are you don't speak for the rest of us. So I will no longer watch The View.

49. I have just read on another website that, today, Rosie used the website Wikipedia.com to defend herself against Donald's response to her insults. Rosie has gone to far and now has resorted to a website that any educated person knows is not respectable. This website is known as being unreliable because any person can post on any topic on this site. This site should not be cited for it does not filter face from fiction. Rosie has insulted and offended a number of people and should be insulted for citing a unrelieable source in her attempt to prove herself right.

50. Donald is a punk ass. Rosie's over the top sometimes, but she was truthful about this, "paragon of virtue": He cheats, leaves and remarries, repeatedly. He made his money off of his daddie's money. And he almost screwed that up, a couple of times.

51. Trump needs to shut the f*&% up because he is grasping at straws right now.

What happens when someone attacks you and you know deep down inside they are right and your feelings are hurt, what do you do ... you attack their appearances (like a child would do).

He mentions Devito, all the co-hosts at the View said he was drunk, why would they lie to put the show in jeopardy, why hasn't Devito sued the View???

He mentions Ripa, I've saw shows where her hand has gone over Regis' mouth, she's an hypocrite.

As for "The Donald" , he has admitted on tv himself that he had declared bankruptcy so what's the deal. He needs to save face and just take the high road like Rosie is doing rather than acting like a child throwing a temper tantrum.

PS: He only has the model wives because he's a meal ticket to be taken advantage of. He just proved to the world he is a loser, a fat loser!!!

52. Ok, I just saw Larry King. And also heard Rosie's and Donald's insults. Rosie, as much as I want to agree with you, you can't talk like that about people, Donald owns Miss. USA and there's nothing we can't do about it, sure, it looks perverted and disgusting, seeing Donald manage the pageant. Donald, you want everyone to look at you as a victim, not working! you're insults sounds like an 6th grade immature red-neck's insults. And also, you've been interviewed atleast 3 times, and you say the same insults "I want to take some money out of her fat ass pockets" "her magazine failed" Donald, that's retarded, and also, suing? God! can't you accept what people say about you? can't you just ignore Rosie? Anyways, you call her "ugly" Donald, I hope you didn't bite your tongue when you said that. And she has talent, she can act, and she can make people laugh. That's talent. And if you sue her, you are going to look real bad and immature.

53. The Donald sure isn't much of a friend is he? Because he either outted a friend about her dislike of an employee or made a bad assumption about how Barbara feels about Rosie! Either way, he should have just kept his mouth shut.

54. Sounds like Barbara Walters is two faced. Donald Trump stated on Larry King that she tells him negative things about Rosie O'Donnell, yet her comments are to the contrary. Someone is lying. Donald Trump talks about Rosie's IQ. I didn't know DT's wife was a Yale or Harvard graduate. Is she fluent in English? I would hate to be married to him.........I would have to slap him into next week for his arrogance. My unsolicited advice to his current wife....spend, spend, spend.......and get a younger man........

55. I think Mr. Trump should rise above Rosie O'Donell's big mouth. As Max Ehrman wrote in his wonderful prose "Avoid loud and aggressive people. They are
vexacious to the spirit..." Do as the royals do.. Do not respond. Nothing will shut
her up more than silence. I find her obnoxious and pushy on the View. She is
treading on more than one toe at that table.

56.
I think Barbara is phoney and that is why she won't take sides...she was phoney when she fired Star...although I think she was right to fire her because Star was becoming such a Snobby person with a Big Ego.
But Barbara is the type that will try and pretend all is good in front of the camera and then talk about others behind their back.
She must say things about Donald to Rosie and then say Things about Rosie to Donald. She seems 2 faced to me.
Donald is just a PIG and a BULLY..and no women would ever look even once at him if he did not have money. All he will ever have in his life is Shallow Money Grubbing Woman and that is what he deserves..even his Wife said in an interview when asked if she would've married Donald if he'd been poor...and she said, "How silly this question is..that is like asking me if Donald would've married me if I were not beautiful"... First off...she is not that great looking... Second...Can you say "Shallow?" LOL... They Deserve each other!
Rosie may have her problems..hey, don't we all...but out of the 3 of them, I like her the best!

57. I think Trump and Rosie should be ashamed at how childish and unadult they are behaving with mean words to each other. More so for Trump. He thinks a persons worth is based on the ratings they get in TV. He attacked Martha Stewart AND HER DAUGHTER - He is out of line for calling Rosie a fat ass, slob - Rosie is a comedian and is on a show called The View. That is what she was expressing, her view. Donald Trump seems to hate women and is himself a bully. He thinks an emmy award is somehow based on intelligence. (spoke on Larry King Live) He is not setting a good example to his children when he calls people "losers" "fat ass" "Slob". Rosie is being smart and not feeding into his namecalling. Plus, he is only trying to get ratings for his soon to be cancelled "The Apprentice". He still says this show is Number 1. He is crazy.

58. That anyone who graduated from High School with a 2.0 or better, who actually gives credence to Rosie O'Fatbitches remarks only lends truth to the fact that Americans are all generally stupid and need to get a grip on reality and stop giving Catatonically stupid people like Rosie any attention whatsoever, she is not the be all end all of the way things are and gives openly gay people abad name..........crawl back to the hellspawned slimepit you flopped out of and let's get back to real journalism BARBARA..............those who read stand appalled...........those who listen....turn up their MP3 players.

Nameless by choice not by reason

59. I am not a fan of either Rosie O'Donnell or Donald Trump, but I really do find all of this amusing, especially watching Rosie O'Donnell mimicking "Mr. Flipover" ... it's hysterical! At least it gives us a break from hearing about Britney, Paris, Nicole, Lindsey and all the rest of those losers in LA!

Posted at 2:08AM on Dec 22nd 2006 by Barb

60. Trump had no right to use anything Barbara may have told him in private. I'm sure this will give the other people in his life something to think about.

Rosie is far from my fave person, but she did tell the truth about some of Trumps life.
