Tim Burton's Ex Alleges Massive Conspiracy

Tim Burton, Lisa MarieLisa Marie, a model and Tim Burton's ex live-in girlfriend, has filed a lawsuit alleging that Burton, her lawyer and her friends conspired to fraudulently strip her of her right to palimony.

TMZ obtained a copy of the lawsuit, filed Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Lisa Marie claims that she and Burton, whose directing credits include "Batman" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," began their romantic relationship in 1991. She claims that a year later, Burton agreed to provide her with "financial support and needs for the rest of her life." They also agreed, she alleges, to combine all their worldly assets.

Lisa Marie, who describes herself as a model, actress, artist, writer and photographer, claims that in August 2001, Burton ended their relationship. She says in the suit, "This sudden, totally unexpected news devastated Plaintiff, who became extremely depressed and emotionally unstable for months thereafter."

That's when Lisa Marie says the conspiracy went into high gear. She alleges that her financial advisors, her lawyer and her friend, Cherry Vanilla, all worked with Burton to make her feel as if she didn't have a case against Burton for lifetime support. According to her suit, "They unconscionably played upon Plaintiff's emotional weakness by continually telling her that she was facing poverty unless she entered into a settlement with Burton on terms acceptable to Burton."

Under the settlement, Burton paid Lisa Marie fair market value for their New York apartment. According to the documents, she received $2.7 million for the unit, and nothing else.

Lisa Marie is suing to rescind the settlement agreement based on fraud. She's also asking for damages in excess of $25,000.

31. #21, That isn't coocky to assume a conspiracy took place in regards to HIS money.
Maybe you don't like the word conspiracy? Well, is it a conspiracy when a guy makes
an airtight contract with his lawyer to make sure she doesn't get palimony? I don't think it
is so farfetched. It happens a lot.
#11- I totally agree. He is more than fugly and him and Helena look alike...after Helena was cast as
an ape.
I'm tired of people thinking that anybody who sues is greedy. Well, you know what? People need money and you aren't the only ones
so stop being bitter that you don't have a way to sue somebody in the court of law. By the way, the justice system knows that money is
the only appeasement for wrongfully hurting someone and Burton definitely took her time didn't he?
Faithful girlfriends are NOT whores.
#19 - Yes, I do believe that in a relationship when trust is built many things are informally promised and you as the person who is being promised such things by your partner wouldn't ask for legal writing because that
would undermine the integrity of the relationship.
I'm no old-fashioned prude, but I'm sick of hearing people say "the love just went away in the relationship." Well, you know what? After 10 years of promising faithfulness to somebody you just decide time is up and you promised things to them when everything was rosey,
you ought to be accountable for your promises and who you promise to love. Whether it's marriage or just a commited relationship, people ought to start taking relationships seriously in our society instead of looking for that thrill of love after the very fiorst date. Grow up.

#15- Yeah, didn't Madonna even copy Cherry Vanilla when she did the Like A Virgin look in the '80s? I heard that was a total rip-off of Cherry Vanilla who donned a wedding dress and veil with a crucifix necklace to New York clubs.

32. First of all, you obnoxious people, Lisa Marie was a model long before she hooked up with Tim Burton. Noted photographers like Bruce Weber and Robert Mapplethorpe took pictures of her, she recorded a song with Malcolm McLaren, had a career or two before she put it all on hold to be Tim Burton's muse. She got paid $2.7 million for those services, not for the apartment. I don't know how much she ultimately got for the apartment. Whether or not you all think that $2.7 million is a lot of money, the truth is that it's clear that the lawyers were involved in some unsavory doings, and they were definitely having a conflict of interest since they were still involved with Tim Burton but denied this to Lisa Marie. It doesn't matter what any of them look like, the fact is that they were together for nearly ten years, she shared a life with him in which certain things were agreed. He clearly welched on the deal and got his reps to lie to her. If they lived a multicoastal life in a ranch in Ojai and an apartment on Fifth Avenue and $2000/night hotel rooms in Vegas and extravagant traveling around the world and buying Hermes cashmere blankets for their freaking Chihuahua, then "taking care" of her for the rest of her life means giving her a sum of money that can let her maintain this lifestyle, right? Doesn't matter if you agree with it or not, I certainly don't hear you complaining about Tim Burton living that life still. So why begrudge her from seeking that compensation, especially once she discovered that he colluded with people specifically to deny her this?

33. I know laws differ from state to state, and I'm no lawyer, but I've only heard of ex-spouses suing for palimony. Can you actually sue for palimony if you weren't even married??

Oh, and maybe she was working in the industry to some extent before Tim Burton, but I'd love to know how many of you didn't even know about her until this story on TMZ!!! I've heard of her, but only because of the TIM BURTON movies in which she appeared. He put her on the map as far as I'm concerned. And this current publicity of hers wouldn't even exist if she weren't in a battle with .... guess who? TIM BURTON!

35.
What she had with Burton was a "settlement." Which means the matter is "settled." The relationship's been over 4 years and she's still trying to get money from him after receiving 2.7 million dollars?
Good lord. One question. How many movie roles did Lisa Marie have other than the one's in Tim's films? How many has she been in since she and Tim split up? I'll bet not many. Another sad tale from celebrity hell. She spent 10 years with him. He now has a child with Helena Bonham Carter. Lisa, the party's over.
