Clay Aiken: American A-Hole?

Clay Aiken and Joshua WillardClay Aiken's diva-like behavior has got one former fan pissed off. The former "American Idol" star is being accused of booting a 15-year-old boy off of a concert line-up simply because he wasn't festive enough.

Joshua Willard won a North Carolina singing competition, which gave him the chance to perform with the Greensboro Symphony during Clay Aiken's Holiday concert on Saturday. Willard told TMZ he rehearsed his song, Stevie Wonder's "Superstition," and had just finished a soundcheck when managers of the Symphony told him the devastating news that Aiken's camp had decided that he would not be allowed to perform because he was not singing a Christmas song. Bah humbug!

Curiously, other singers who did have holiday songs prepared were also not allowed to sing. Instead, Willard was only allowed to lead a 30-second group singalong. Lisa Crawford, CEO of the Greensboro Symphony, told TMZ that the children were never promised they could sing with Clay; "It was his tour and show. We were just hired to play."

A photogallery of Stars Behaving BadlyDuring his concert, Willard says Aiken "was trying to be more of a comedian than a singer," -- and an unfunny one at that. Aiken made multiple references to his controversial appearance on "Live with Regis and Kelly," where he attempted to put his hand over Ripa's mouth. Willard says Aiken was rude to audience members and told several people to sit down and cover their mouth. Clay even showed a raunchier side by pretending he had flatulence every time feedback came through the speakers. Talk about making a stink!

An hour after the show, Willard got to meet Clay, but says that Miss Thing was "snotty" and acted like he was too good for his little fans. The former Claymates were even told not to take individual pictures with Aiken, only group shots. Willard is devastated and says that due to Aiken's behavior, he now "could care less of Clay." Joshua hopes to tryout for the next season of "American Idol," to show the world what a down to earth Idol is really like.

Calls to Clay's rep were not immediately returned.

92. Oh, puh-leeeeeeeeeez! One of the best voices of our generation. I hardly think so. That honor goes to the wildly talented, grammy award winning, multi-platinum artist, Josh Groban. Joshie has this mega-troll beat. There is no comparison. In addition, Jennifer Hudson will be up for an Oscar for "Dreamgirls." What's Gayken doing - a low-budget guest spot on a soap. Yeah, he's really on the A-list - NOT! The only thing that Claytoris has on his schedule is the 8th season of "The Surreal Life" and the "Liberace" story. No business - Never make it in Hollywad, honey!

93. CLAY IS AWESOME AND IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT IN KEEPING WITH CHRISTMAS MUSIC ONLY FOR HIS SHOW. (duh?) This is a CLAY AIKEN concert not an amateur hour show. I feel bad that the boy/fan was misled into thinking that he was guaranteed to sing a non-Christmas song during Clay's show, but I agree that he was blessed to meet with Clay afterwards and I'm quite sure he was treated with kindess and respect (of course the writer chose to ignore). I think it's just down right rude and without any just reason that the hater who wrote the article as well as the haters who posted their unwarranted trash here gets any attention at all. It is clearly obvious that there is no truth to this and it's pure b**sh(t as well as a cheap attempt to bring him down.

Here is a well known fact. There are a lot of hot women who for 3 plus years are totally taken with this completely hetero and more-man than most, Clay. I don't give a hoot what others think of his sexuality. Doesn't bother anyone else that there are totally straight celebrity men who blatently have affeminite qualities.... but no.. the ignorant haters HAVE to pick on Clay! They have to buy into the grotesque and made-up lies from other imbasuls. I've never realized until now just how great this is because whether the haters would ever admit to it or not, Clay remains to get more attention than anyone else to ever come out of American Idol. Those who know a thing or two about him know what a super human being he is in addition to his outstanding voice and other talents. Not to mention his high numbers in record and concert sales second only to Kelly. He's got more morals, talent and style in one of his nose hairs than most other 'Pop/R&B' stars have in their life-time!

Clay is here to stay so get used to it, Clay-haters. Keep looking at his beautifully handsome, smiling face because he's not leaving us any time soon.

Peace out!

98. Did anyone, anywhere, from the singing competition onward, ever bother to check with Clay Aiken's team before making promises they couldn't keep?

Did anyone, anywhere, think to ask what the program was to entail (yes, including audience chat)?

Did anyone, anywhere, stop even once to think that maybe, just maybe, Clay was trying to give the vast majority of the audience present the kind of banter they were hoping for? And that given the microphone problems, he was trying to make the best of a hard situation? It would have been far more diva-like if he had gotten upset, or pitched a hissy fit on stage. Instead, he tried to roll with the punches and make a joke of it.

Did anyone, anywhere, look at the rest of his schedule and see that maybe he was trying to be fair? He can't just arbitrarily do something for one person or group that he can't do for everybody else on all the other stops of a tour. And let's face it - this kid didn't win a meet and greet. He didn't win a "fifteen minutes with Clay Aiken" contest. From what the article says, he didn't even win a contest sponsored by or affiliated with Clay AIken or his team. So why is he complaining that he didn't get special treatment, individual pictures, or whatever?

If he wants to be upset, so be it. But at least try to be a little objective here.

100. Like I always say people like an under dog but once they get famous they love to
tare them down. I find it sad in this day and age. As a fan of his I will say I had a great time at one of his concerts and look forward to seeing him again.

101. Clay Aiken? Is he STILL around? Guess that doesn't take much talent. Does it?

Fatty Arbuckle and Clay Aiken. A century just don't count for as much as it used to.

Bet, Clay still can't sing.

102. Clay's name was on the ticket. I paid. I got a good show. He got a standing ovation. End of story.

103. #96
I gotta agree with ya. Everyone is just so eager to jump on the hate bandwagon that they'll believe anything.
I'm NO Aiken fan. I couldn't stand him on AI and I can't stand him now, however, this whole thing just screams "I want more publicity for when me myself and I go on AI" from the teenager complaining.
I also think it's quite funny that a teenager (we all know how they act) tries to rip Aiken down for making fart jokes like it's some HUGE flaw in someone's char if they do that sort of humor.

Anywho... blahblahblah.... I wouldn't doubt that Aiken is a diva, but this story just seems more like a snot-nosed kid who is hoping for his 15mins.
