Tyson to Cop -- "I'm an Addict"

Tyson mug shotsTMZ has obtained court documents in the Mike Tyson DUI bust that went down early this morning in Scottsdale, AZ. In a statement from the arresting officer, attached to the file, the cop says that after stopping Tyson, the former fighter "stated he is an addict and has a problem."

According to the cop, tests revealed that Tyson was "under the influence of a depressant, stimulant and cannabis."

The report goes on -- "Mike admitted to possessing bags of cocaine and said he uses anytime he can get his hands on it."

The document says Tyson had "two bags of a white powder substance ... in his back left pocket. In addition a bag was located on the driver seat in a Marlboro cigarettes pack."

The cop writes, "I observed a white powder substance on the center console of the vehicle, Mike was wiping the dash off as I approached."

Tyson was informed in court today that he will be charged with felony drug possession.

33. Please see Barbara Kopple's documentary: AMERICAN CHAMP.

When Tyson was crowned youngest heavyweight champion of the world, and unstoppable money machine at the age of 20, the one person around, Cus D'Amato, his trainer and mentor, had already died. This 78-year old man may have been able to control the animalistic behaviors of his star, but myth has it he did not care about the teenager and turned a blind eye to very bad behavior. Trainers predicted Mike would eventually end up in jail, because nobody taught him right from wrong. He had no boundaries, and when somebody's earning 100 million bucks, the rules of society are often ignored [see: OJ]. Sadly, Don King stepped in to manageTyson in order to steal most of Mike's money [King's an admitted killer and convicted felon]. Mike was too young and too dumb to realize he should not have done business with a crook like King. He was truly doomed.

Friends who knew Mike when he was a 20-year old told me they were shocked
to discover he was a raving alcoholic then, although a primo athlete.

He never really had a chance. But neither did Desiree Washington, once he locked her in his hotel room.

35. All of you have picked a very troubled man to pick on because it makes you feel like you have more of a right to breathe my air than you would otherwise. At one time I completely hated this man, and look how much he's changed. No Nobel Peace prize in his future, but he's not starting fights, beating motorists, he's going peacefully with the law when it could have taken an army to arrest him.

I too am an addict. Him and I have only that in common and nothing else, but for a man that has had that angry of a past to be able to accept consequences, probably even while under the influance, deserves some credit.

Personally, I think his first wife was goaded my her mother to goad him into beating her for the money and the rape was a Kobe Bryant type of setup.

I have a rare stage 4 terminal stomach cancer that was most likely brought on by a female(considers herself in the "medical field"-she feeds old people) I got into a relationship with that would slip me "knock out" drugs so she could slip out and do meth and party late at night. A crude form of GHB made with carcinogens and lye in about 5 minutes.

This relationship was entered prematurely on my part because i had just got out of a hospital burn unit after 4 months because I had a roomate who didn't like the beeping noise a smoke alarm would make when the battery went dead and found buying them troublesome.

The world is full of trash who have done far worse than Mr Tyson and are going to get away with it because it either doesn't fall into a criminal categorie, or can't be proved, or the results aren't displayed in such a brutal fashion or even if they are, chain of events are almost impossible to link.

36. You know, I remember when he first came on the scene. A decent sounding young man, actuall quite respectful of the chance he was getting. He was just awesome with his skills. Then the change began!! Arrogance like I have never seen, putting himself above the law and all other things. It is kind of sad to see him this way. However, he no one but himself to blame!! He has become a streetwise THUG and whatever he gets in this life he has no one but himself to blame. I think that eventually he will be so spaced out on the streets one day and make a dreadful mistake that force some COP(which I am) to take his ass out.

37. CrazY DiamonD

Why is it that when any celebrity gets in trouble they are being compared to OJ and besides we do not know if OJ is a murderer. He was not convicted you remember right?

39. I truly respect Mr. Tyson as a man and as a boxer. My hope is that he can recover from all of his misfortunes. Lord knows he has suffered enough abuse from the media and from his stent in prison. He is a man first and a fighter second. I just appreciate all of the good times that he gave the sport of boxing. I'll pray that God will bless and keep him any further misfortunes such as these. Last but not least never trust the media or lawenforcement.

40. "don't hate! hate! hate! Mike needs prayers from anybody that can offer it to him, and that's what you should be doin' instead of hatin'. "

would you still feel that way if he bit your ear off or beat the hell out you for no reason? if you said, yes, you are straight up lying.
i love when people try to stand up for a celebrity as if they are all BFF with them. i come on here for a laugh. the demise of there careers and lives keep me fueled for the rest of the day.

42. How did Mike Tyson's problem's become one of hate #13. He's not the reason you hate black people and I truly don't believe you speak for the white race, you hate blacks because your a pathetic human being. As far as Mike Tyson he's no different from Robert Downey Jr do all white people hate him too!

44. It's it funny how much we loved him when he was the heavy weight champion of the world. Society and every con man from across the country has used this guy and gotten filthy rich off of him...we need to stop judging! No one has walked a day in his shoes and I'm sure most of us wouldn't be able to even stand in them let alone drive under the influence.
