Joe to Jess: You Bettah Work!

Joe Simpson and Jessica Simpson Pimp Daddy Joe Simpson is pissed that his paycheck, er, daughter Jessica, turned down a paying gig to party with John Mayer instead!

A source tells TMZ the family tiff started when Vegas' PURE nightclub contacted Joe to have Jess host a New Year's Eve party for what we are told was a large sum of money. Jessica wasn't interested in working on the holiday, says our source, and told Pops she wanted to spend a mellow New Year's sans glitz and glamour. With her recent Kennedy Center Honors debacle, film flop and tanking music career, the girl's had a rough year! An exhausted Britney Spears would go on to host PURE's festivities, until she fainted.

When Papa Joe found out baby Jessica's idea of a quiet night at home meant canoodling with Mayer at various NYC hotspots, the minister turned Svengali was livid -- not because she was with her new boy, but because she partied -- for free!

With Jessica reportedly not getting reimbursed for $15,000 in styling fees associated with her aborted Dolly Parton tribute, Joe is sure to have his little girl working double shifts in no time. Papa needs a new pair of shoes!

55. How can a father pimp his daughter out like that? He should be ashamed. I can see why his daughters turned out like they did. Jessica use to be so sweet and wholesome and likeable. And I can see why he's an EX-minister! He was probably worried God would send down a lightening bolt at him for his greedy, unfatherly behavior.

57. Their are alot of stage parents that do the same thing. But we don't really know the truth about him just what we read . He very well could be a great dad & a very nice guy. All we know about him are from these forums & rag mags. I still think Jessica would be better off getting some time alone away from her dad & see what happens. I know alot of these stories are not true & must be really hard on Jessica & Ashlee.

60. Wake up people!! These stories are being fed to you so you will feel sorry for her! They read all the bad comments about her and are trying to get people to feel for her just like the Britney deal. When Brit dumped K-Fed everyone was feeling sorry for her and then she herself screwed that line of coverage up by going party crazy. Its the same line, A different fish! Wake UP!!
