Bindi & Terri Invade US

Click to return to TMZ.comThe late Crocodile Hunter's wife and precocious daughter are stateside on a promotional tour, popping up this week on the couches of Jay Leno and Ellen DeGeneres.

Though Terri Irwin broke into tears on "The Tonight Show" last night when talking about super-daughter Bindi, the Crocodile Huntress gracefully recovered -- joking about putting a used tissue back into the box. "It's like double-dipping!" said Terri, "Once it touches your nose you're not supposed to put it back."

In an interview airing on Friday's "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," hunter-with-training-wheels Bindi admits, "I just love animals ...I want him [father Steve] to be proud of me." *sniff*

46. To all of you who post hateful things. So sorry your own pathetic life is so bad you need to find fault in others and call them names. Seems to me your'e very jealous of a youngster who happens to love and embrace life. She genuinely loves the animals she works with, can't you dolts see that?

This tour was set up before Steve Irwin died. Did any of you bashers ever stop to think that maybe this is the way this child is coping with the death of her beloved daddy? This child has more sensibility than any of the bashers who are leaving comments here. She's bright, she's precocious and she actually does love animals and wants to follow in her father's footsteps. There's nothing wrong with that.

Keep up the good work Bindi, I'm sure will see lots more from you in the years to come. Hats off to her Mom for carrying out Steve and Bindi's dream of this tour.

47. good lord...leave the family alone...Steve didn't deserve to die, Terri isn't exploiting Bindi...Bindi was doing her show long before Steve died...matter of fact he was in it with her. Bindi is just doing something she knows and loves...she says she feels great performing...and right now, if it's helping her move on after this horrible tragedy and also helping to keep her dad's work alive then so be it. Everyone is different, and I freaking highly doubt Terri or Steves family would allow anyone to pimp out an eight year old girl.

Funny how no one mentions all the child stars like Dakota Fanning (spelling?) or that Haley Joel, or heck even the Olsen Twins...they did their fair share of the talk shows...what better way to get your name out there and state your causes?

Grow up and show some respect for his family people.

48. I would like to see her mom keep her from doing things, i think it would have been the same as keeping Steve from talking about animals, and anyone with half a brain and a TV has seen that Terri has said " i ask Bindi what she wants to do" she also said that she weighs in on what she thinks is best also.

its better for Terri to supervise where she appears than to keep her hid and the scavengerazzi to stalk the poor girl

49. You make a really good point Piper, good on ya!.
I've seen a lot of Bindi and she is just like the other child stars, she is out going and vivacious and loves to perform as much as she loves animals, her favorites are snakes by the way, she loves 'em. Anyway Bindi has a really good head on her shoulders and a great family to guide her and they certainly would never exploit her thats for sure.

As for those few people criticising Steve-
I think people should realise that it was Steve's dad Bob who started Australia Zoo through his love of reptiles; mainly crocs, and he thought of perfected the most humane and safe way to handle crocodiles in the world. He, Steveand, Wes and the other guys never used hooks; or anything nasty like that to handle crocs. They used jaw ropes, and something to put over the crocs eyes to keep it calm and a whole lot of man power to move these huge reptiles safely into croc boxes to be moved. They always put the welfare of the crocs first.
At the Zoo, they look out for one another the whole time whilst catching moving these crocs and worked together as a perfect team, thats what mateship is all about.
There are certain people out there who criticise Steve because they see him a bit of a drop kick becouse of the way he talks, but what they don't seem to understand is he acted that way for the cameras to keep people interested; so they would hopefully become more involved in caring about wildlife conservation. Steve was always deadly serious and cautious about handling these massive creatures and people are now a lot wiser about the crocodile thanks to him.
A lot of people here used to think crocs were nothing but a dangerous menace coz there have been croc attacks over the years; mainly becouse people stupisdly swim i rivers where crocs are known to inhabit, but Steve has tought everyone about respecting crocs for what they are not persicuting them for what we think they are, they have just as much right to exist as we do.

50. Nice....Corvette Stingray, Sting Ray......you only showed how little balls you truly have. No one is laughing with you, it's AT you idiot(s). Who cares if you are one and the same or not, you are a waste of space.

On the other hand, Bindi is home schooled, has several playmates HER OWN AGE, fully socialized, and is absolutely a living doll with an old soul. She's holding up under a crushing blow for a child, doing EXACTLY what she did ALL the time with her Dad, and that's what makes her happy. A therapist even said in an interview on CNN that Bindi is "handling her grief" like SHE needs to in order to get through the days. The Discovery Channel and Animal Planet are all together, as well as several other channels owned by the same company, unless you have lived under a rock, then you would be aware of that as well RAY(S).

God Bless Terri and the kids........they have handled this with class. Steve and Terri are WILDLIFE conservationists dumbass(es). The kids know no other life. If she abruptly ripped them from the only thing they know, IN ADDITION to losing their father, their entire world would falling f'ing apart. Bindi has been performing in person at the zoo since she was able to. She loves it. Could it be that "making her father proud" makes HER HAPPY and helps her believe he's still with her? Wow, there's a concept. Terri is a wonderful mother, consulted therapists and doesn't push Bindi. You can tell she's not a "show mother", Bindi truly loves what she does. If Terri was capitalizing, she'd be shoving the little one in as well. She's said they are different personalities and are handling their grief differently.

You want to attack a person who handles her grief like a money grubbing, dysfunctional pig? Let's talk about Anna Nicole Smith. Google her and see WTF she's been up to since her SON died over her methadone-stoned self in HER hospital bed after she gave birth to a new baby and she left him on a slab for 39 days while she had "designer" outfits "especially made" for her fake wedding to her new kid's fake father and her dead kid's funeral. While her kid is on a slab at the morgue, she's out clubbing all night the night before a "commitment" ceremony, laughing and having a great time, and gorging on wine, and....total class...KFC.....at a wedding meant to prevent the REAL father from seeing his own newborn child (it wasn't legal, so she's NOT really married). Imagine, how stricken she was doing the "YMCA" dance chowing on KFC while Kid 1 is chilling at the morgue. Cry me a river for the Mother of the Year. Then, she pulled her grieving ass together to "wail and scream" appropriately for the media at her son's funeral 2 days later. Oh, and the funeral home is still waiting for a check, because she stiffed them on the bill for the funeral. Talk about exploitation, pimping and great parenting.

Instead of picking on an 8 yr. old, why don't you bash someone your own size, and pick someone you know something about before you do it. Unless of course, you ARE eight.

51. Oh, and a PS......when and if little Robert starts wanting to perform like his big sister is doing.....I'll cheer them all on 100%. They are doing wonderful things for the world and nature, they have a PURPOSE and are fulfilling it beautifully. To the Aussies that lost Steve, my deepest condolences. I know that you loved him very much.

To the people who have nothing to do but bash this amazing family, please inform the rest of us what YOUR contribution to this world is.

56. How could people comment negatively towards a child with that much inspiration to do good? The family educated this child in a up close & natural way.... unlike anything we have seen before. There attitide and beliefs awe struck us all, in both our Countries.

So Bindi shares Dads (and mothers) enthusiastic spirit , devotion and love for animals. Fantastic for her! What is wrong with a child knowing IN THIS MOMENT what she wants to do with her life? I say pass it on.
