Hey Donald -- Where'd YOU Learn to Count?

Call it the "Art of the Spin."

Donald Trump granted an "exclusive" interview to the "Today" show this morning with the express purpose of refuting Rosie's gleeful assertion from Wednesday -- namely, that the debut episode of this season's "The Apprentice" had "tanked" in the ratings. The only problem was, it did tank. It was third in the 10-11 PM slot, well behind "Desperate Housewives" and "Cold Case."

In his inimitably self-satisfied way, Trump told "Today's" Natalie Morales that his show was "the most successful show in the last 14 months in its timeslot." Uh, what? Actually, it wasn't even the most successful show that NBC has run in the 9:30-11:00 PM timeslot since October 2005. Its 5.5 household rating can't match that of "Crossing Jordan" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," the two other shows that have recently run in that slot.

Of course, the Donald was saying all this on NBC, which, of course, just happens to air "The Apprentice." Hmm.

67. Sammie, you said it perfectly. A true gentleman who is self-assured, confident and not a totally self-obsessed arrogant weinie would have shrugged it off. Not The Donald. His ranting has shown him for the fool with a trust fund many have always known him to be.

44. It amazes me the way people are taking sides with this Rosie/Donald deal. Let's look at the facts. First, Rosie commented on the Miss USA thing. Okay, she is on a show, after all, that is called The View. Second, she is a comedian and whether you think she is a good/bad one, part of being a comedian is to make fun of what's going on in the world. Check out Jay Leno or any other talk show, and you will hear the same kind of talk. Third, for Donald to respond the way that he did was totally uncalled for, not gentlemanly, and in a world where we are trying to STOP insults that refer to weight, sexual orientation, etc., it was appalling to hear these comments coming from a man, with the stature he has, speaking like that about anyone for any reason. All this has accomplished is to attract all the other lowlife people out there who embrace this kind of bigotry and hate and they have spewed their hate and bigotry too. Shame on you Donald Trump. A smarter man would have just shrugged it off or laughed and said Rosie doesn't know what she is talking about and end it there. You have succeeded in making a fool of yourself. As for bringing Barbara Walters into the picture....shame on you again. If she did indeed tell you the things you say she did, then you are no friend of hers for betraying her. If she didn't, well then obviously, you are not friends at all. You put her in a terrible position just because you couldn't control yourself. That's no friend. Of course, you did succeed in starting up trouble between Rosie and Barbara and since they have to work together, that was down right manipulative of you, but that's what you wanted anyway so I'm sure you are satisfied. At best, people expect Rosie to say outrageous things and be outspoken and funny. Most people listen, laugh and then forget.....but you.....they most certainly have seen you in a different light...and not a good one. "Me thinks thou protests too loudly." How come? I think there is more going on there than meets the eye.

1.Dump, er, Trump should write a column for the NY Post titled:

"Dickless Donald's Daily Dump"

2. What a low-class jerk!! Doesn't he realize that Viagra can help his erectile dysfunction?

74. Oh yes N #11. I'm old enough to also remember those days. Actually, they were during Barbara Walter's career. She did not have nearly the competition she has now, did she? The viewers were "captive viewers" in many ways compared to the
extensive choices today. And, we DIDN"T have COMPUTERS or BLOGS then either.
I guess Barbara is really finding out now that she may not be nearly as highly esteemed as she thought.
Diane Sawyer is a much better interviewer IMO!
