31. This guys contract is for 50 million a year to play soccer. Did I spell soccer right? I care so little about the game that I'm not sure of the spelling. Whoever's shelling out that kind if money for a bench warmer is in for a huge dissapointment. I'm sure we'll see a lot of this guy on tv.....doing ads for Icy Hot Patches.

32. Ya know... This is a VERY smart move for the Beckhams. Having lived in England... and loving footy... I can only HOPE this will raise further interest in the sport here in the US.

And no, they will never be revered here as they are in the UK.

I am only curious about the World Cup comment. David is not a citizen here. So for the time being can't play for the US team. So how do you think this will improve our chances there???

36. Who cares? Soccer is not well-received in America and never will be. They have tried this before, bringing in huge soccer superstars to try and jump start soccer in the USA.......Remember Pele??? Soccer will never be anything more than a third rate team sporting event in the states. Hell, professional hockey is on it's last legs. Beckham...big deal, who cares? Spice girl wife.....no talent!!! 37. You are all ignorant of the effects bringing David Beckham will do to American Soccer. I've been a fan since his mid-field goal back in the 90's. 'Posh' is a silly and you all know it. If you had the chance to lay with her, you definitely would. Bringing Becks to MLS will bring more revenue into a league that you ignorant Americans don't even know exists. Creating a hype that will far surpass the NASL of the Pele and Beckenbauer days, this is what all of American soccer has waited for. A start.

38. Actually,my first thought was that they were coming here to get away from all of the death or kidnapping threats they have gotten over there. Paparazzi are bad here, but they have next to NO boundaries over there and are really aggressive, so maybe they are wanting something that is more toned down, and I don't really think they are that full of themselves to expect royal treatment...at least HE doesn't strke me that way

40. Thank God! I'd rather see Posh and Becks in the tabloids than having to
look at those tramps Paris, Britney and "Ho"-han all the frickin' time!!! Beckham is a tremendous talent and is super hot to boot! I hope American soccer gets the attention that it deserves! I know I'll be paying attention.

41. Did anyone ever see their documentary on TV? Becks actually told Posh he liked her better when she was pregnant, because she carried a lot more weight on her! She seriously needs to stop doing whatever she is doing to stay that skinny - maybe Katie will help - she looks at least healthy, and somehow I don't think Tom would want her to be anorexic-like!

43. for those people who continue to say stupid things such as we dont want them here, and no one cares...i am pretty sure it is about the galaxy making more money then they do, also to bring more fans into the sport...he is a really great soccer player and so are most of the european players...bringing them here is to make the usa more involved in a great sport...like it is in european countries...and seriously the whole pick on victoria thing is a little bit ridiculous..can anyone say jealous much? people should really think about welcoming them instead of criticizing them so much!
