The problem with racism is that it is in your own mind. You keep going over and over this slavery issue. NEWS FLASH...I WASN'T THERE, MY GRANDPARENTS WEREN'T THERE, AND NEITHER WERE YOU AND YOURS! GET OVER IT ALREADY! Black people get more opportunities now than any other color, yet they continue to complain. America hated Star because She was IRRITATING! I don't know why you would think people were jealous of her weight loss. It was her attitude AFTER the weight loss. And she did not get fired because of her wedding. It was her loss of viewers. They had had ENOUGH of her. You people want to blame racism for every problem in your lives, and that's where the problem lays. Take responsibility for your actions NOW. Not for the actions of your ancestors. Last time I checked, we FREED the slaves. Get over it! You are all the authors of your own lives, and the choices you make will give you the reprocussions or benefits later. Your actions in society are what makes others determine the type of people you aren not racism.

Oh, "We FREED the slaves", but earlier you wrote, "NEWS FLASH...I WASN'T THERE, MY GRANDPARENTS WEREN'T THERE, AND NEITHER WERE YOU AND YOURS! GET OVER IT ALREADY", which is it! Actually you don't know what your talking about. Like a lot of people, you think of slavery as ancient history but 1865 (the date slaves were freed) is not that long ago. My father will be 87 years old this year, but his father, my grandfather, lived to be over 90 years old and was born before 1865 and he was a slave born in South Carolina.

Please, the idea that Rosie O'Donnell is a better choice than Starr Jones reeks of racism. Nothing other than racism could explain that choice.

Also, Starr was not irritating or anything of the kind to me or dare I speak for other Black people, to us. We enjoyed her commentary and watching her evolution from a brilliant attorney to a fun but intelligent talk show host. If you couldn't keep up with her, then I supposed you found her irritating but Starr was not the only member of that cast.
Joy was and is unfunny and Elizabeth, bless her heart, is boring; and Meredith wasn't lighting up the ratings either. Maybe their format needs to be changed, but to blame Starr was the easy way out because White folks believe they were doing us Black folk a favor by having any Black person on the show in the first place. The View is just a den of witches, and it Starr weren't Black, you'd admit it.

95. Thank you JL Scott, that's the most rational post so far. I am not a big fan of either one of them but she had a point in what she said. What amazes me is that two grown, wealthy, successful people are acting like preschool children . It's sad really that neither one is able to rise above and stop this nonsense.

96. Lucille, When I said "we freed the slaves, I meant it figuratively, not WE as in "we were there." Maybe your grandfather was a slave, but YOU weren't. And many slaves were treated quite well from some of the tales I have heard. Oportunities are open to you now and have been for a decades. Take advantage of them. I don't care what color Star is, she was not entertaining on The View anymore. She became too high and mighty, which alot of you seem to do when you acquire education and power, and fame. Don't let it go to your heads. Be proud of your accomplishments, and but don't forget humility. Star forgot. I never said Rosie was better. She was their choice, period. I had no problem keeping up with Star other than the fact that she bored me. Nobody was doing blacks a favor by hiring her. She got the job on her own merit, and lost it the same way. You need to remove the racism from your heart to see this. Blacks are just as racist as you feel we are, even moreso I think. I am not crazy about Elizabeth either, and she's not black. A job is a job, black or white, and if you're not doing it well, they let you go. Why didn't Star stick to her law practice if she was so good at it? I would rather do that, than sit on a lousy talk show.

98. though i can't stand rosie, she doesn't come across as a liar. if you've followed rosie's career at all, you will see that she doesn't talk behind people's back, she tells them to their face or in a public setting.

barbara on the other hand, is a sneaky, dirty liar. she's what the native americans would call "fork-tongue". it's very diappointing to someone of her professional level lose the respect of millions in less than a year. all this drama is wearing on. you can see it in her face.

trump is likewise, he shouldn't have even responded to rosie. it made him seem as petty as she is. nobody cares about what rosie has to say anyways. she's a hot air balloon.

i personally don't believe star called trump. she hasn't spoken out about anyone from the view since she was on larry king live. i starting believe she is a star, because so many of you seem to be obsessed with her.

i've said once, i'll say it again... the view is nothing more than tabloid television now. i feel sorry for the next person they hire, because they'll be a lamb among wolves.

White people were not the only demographic The View should have been seeking. Its obvious by they way they treated Starr that they don't give a damn about Black viewership and is going strickly for White folk. Well that's fine, because I haven't watched The View litterally since Starr said a very gracious farewell, and the next day was stabbed deeper in the back by Barbara Walters' rant about "we tried to protect Starr, blah, blah, blah."

As for you NOT A STAR WORSHIPPER, "humility, high and mighty"? Why didn't you just come out and say uppity Nigger?

Because I'm not a hater, I hope you get your head straight because one day your going to need our help. In the south, some of the biggest racists have wept on shoulders in their time of trouble. I imagine someday, you will do the same.

100. Lucille, I am sorry if you feel I'm racist. I am not. That feeling is in your own mind. As I said, I did not care for Star Jones, and it didn't matter to me what her color is. I can't stand Donald Trump, and he is not black. He displays the same high and mighty attitude that I mentioned in my last post. "Uppity Nigger" were your words, not mine. I can't believe you honestly think this is a race issue. That just goes to prove how much more racist you are than me. I never for one minute let that be a reason for not wanting to watch Star. It was her ATTITUDE which many of us feel changed drastically after her weight loss. She seemed to become more defensive, and snobby, and apparently alot of us felt that way. That gracious farewell statement was done to try and get the jump on Barbara Walters and the producers of The View. She knew exactly what she was doing.
My ancestors went through their share of hardships, but I don't dwell on what I was never a part of. I hope some day you can get that chip off your shouldar and stop blaming all of white America today for things that happened almost 200 years ago. Maybe then we could all learn to get along together in the future. And the last time I checked this board was not here to debate racism. We are merely voicing our sides of this crazy feud between Trump and Rosie, which is also starting to get old now.

It sounds like you are as dumb as donald & star.Though I'm sure he (donald) has a little more resepct for a female,just not Rosie but you know what who cares she has way more class and a** than he ever will . star has no one to blame for what happened to her on the View it was her own faught and then she married a GAY man she tried to hide it but you can't hide things like that .
