The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul celebrated her 36th birthday at Mr. Chow last night with hubby Kendu Isaacs by her side. While she was all smiles, she left a few autograph seekers cold, saying, "Ooh, I don't sign white paper, honey, sorry, and I don't sign money."

Miss Thing has her ways.

Mary does appreciate her fans and always has. The thing with Mary is she has had a pretty rough life to the point where she was depressed and delved into alcohol and drugs to escape her sorrows and pain. She also got involved in bad relationships with men who would end up hurting her. It took her a long time to trust men, and peopl in general.

Today, she is of course happily married to Kendu and is proud to be a step-mom to his three kids. But still, she may seem a little reserve, and that's why people may think she's a little angry or stand-off-ish.
