Naomi Campbell Cops a Plea

TMZ has learned that supermodel Naomi Campbell has pled guilty to misdemeanor assault. Campbell was charged with wreckless assualt in the third degree for throwing a BlackBerry at her maid last March after accusing the maid of stealing a coveted pair of jeans.

Campbell's lawyer unsuccessfully tried to cut a deal last November with the Manhattan D.A.'s office. Naomi was arrested in March 2006 after Ana Scolavino claimed she was the target of the supermodel's flying crystal-covered BlackBerry phone over an allegedly stolen pair of jeans.

Campbell was sentenced to five days community service, two days of anger management courses, and was ordered to pay Scolavino's $362.32 medical bill. Campbell must complete her sentence by May 21.

18. This sentence (and I use the term loosely) is far too lenient and light. She will not learn the lesson she needs to learn. How many times now has she been charged with the same charge?

I think she should have been sentenced to a minimum of five years right off the top, a minimum of one year of "anger-management" and supervised probation for 10 years after completioni of those -- and throw one of those lovely little electronic monitoring bracelets on for for the 10 years of supervised probation.
