Awards Shows
Oh No They Didn't! Globes' Most Cringe-Worthy

Sometimes awards shows make us weep a little, laugh a little, or sleep a little. And then there are moments that just make us cringe, a lot.
More on TMZ.com
Last night's Golden Globes was no exception. Long after Ryan Seacrest's thoroughly wince-inducing stand-up with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Warren Beatty made us wince with a deeply awkward (and incorrect) "Borat" impression.

Best TV Comedy Actress winner, America Ferrara, positively made us gnash our soup dumplings when she exited the stage after her touching acceptance speech and waited like a glowingly expectant puppy to be interviewed by NBC's Maria Menounos. And waited. And waited. And then had to run offstage, ignored by the blathering Ms. M. Such indignity!

Then, as Prince was a no-show to accept his award for best song, Justin Timberlake waited for his Petite Purple Majesty to come and collect his trophy, then saved the cringe-worthy moment by making himself a foot shorter and accepting on Prince's behalf.

77. Just have to defend Prince here. He issued a statement saying he was caught in traffic at the time. The shots shown of him were of later in the evening.

79. EVERYTHING about Ryan Gaycrest makes me cringe. His interview skills are an embarrassment and just another indication of E!'s pathetic waste of money to try and grab ratings that NEVER come.

80. neha/#81:

Why be embarassed for the black actors for Jamie Foxx's behavior? Go back (if you can) and watch his bit of the show. He stands there, acting too cool for school, name-checking every black actor he spots. I can't remember specifically who he shouted out to, but I remember noticing at the time that he was only calling out a "what's up" to his fellow black male actors. And only them.

That's what people mean. Tom Cruise is a lunatic only on his own behalf. :-p

81. I agree with no. 1 "goodgriefcharliebrown" comments that if Angelina was not in this country making the big bucks she would not be in the position to help others in less fortunate situations. She likes to give, so how about her giving thanks to those who helped her get where she is without the sourpuss face. This is becoming more of a way of life out there in Hollyweird. Make their fortunes here and then no thanks or compasion for the "Ugly American" who helped along the way. What happened to genuinely thankful?

82. I think Maria M., Ryan, Giuliana DiPandi, and the Fashion Police gal (don't remember her name) are all unprofessional and ask the dumbest questions! I remember a couple of years ago when Hilary Swank was up for Best Actress at the Oscars, and Giuliana completely put her down about having lived in a trailer park. I'm liking Joan and Melissa a lot more these days! I liked it when Star Jones and Kathy Griffin were on the Red Carpet...at least Star asked more intelligent and interesting questions, and was gracious about it. Get some classier people to interview the stars, folks!

83. Oops. Sorry, #81, the comments must've gotten re-numbered before mine was posted. That was directed at neha.

84. Please save me from having to hear any more about Justin Timberlake. He's ugly as a mud fence and his new look dress wise seems to try to channel Frank Sinatra, such a geek. Cameron should leave well enough alone and find some really cool buff guy to date. Oh and that singing don't make me laugh, he and peewee Herman have alot in common.

85. One of the worst acceptance speeches was from Warren Beatty. He said a lot of words that meant nothing. He knew he was receiving this award, why didn't he write something that we could understand. Very disappointing.

88. Seacrest is a stupid turd. Angelina was like please get this little shit kisser away from me!

89. I loved the Justin Timberlake thing. It was funny. Prince is short. He didn't even intimate that Prince is untalented, just short. When the awards shows can get too stuffy, it is nice to add levity.

Angelina wasn't rude. She looked annoyed about something, but not mad. And she spoke when spoken to. I think another poster was right when they said that she was letting Brad shine. It was his year. She learns from her mistakes and I bet she does better at the Oscars.

Additionally E!'s camera angel was all messed up where Ryan Seacrest was. When the folks from Grey's came over, they didn't realize the camera was coming from another direction and the actor on the left kept covering up the others. More than once the camera angle was very bad and they kept it that way despite the fact that there was another camera. Maybe Angelina thought they were using the other camera and didn't see that she was on too. How many actors do you thing actually smile constantly when they aren't on camera? She probably thought it was her one place to rest her face.

90. I really liked Justin's music and his dancing style. I believed him when he claimed that the "thing" with Janet Jackson was a mistake or accident. But after he disrespected a musical icon and genius, he stepped down to the bottom of my popularity list. Prince has been where Justin wants to go in his carreer 3 times over and back again. His music and stage presence is phenominal.
Take notes Justin.
