Awards Shows
Oh No They Didn't! Globes' Most Cringe-Worthy

Sometimes awards shows make us weep a little, laugh a little, or sleep a little. And then there are moments that just make us cringe, a lot.
More on TMZ.com
Last night's Golden Globes was no exception. Long after Ryan Seacrest's thoroughly wince-inducing stand-up with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Warren Beatty made us wince with a deeply awkward (and incorrect) "Borat" impression.

Best TV Comedy Actress winner, America Ferrara, positively made us gnash our soup dumplings when she exited the stage after her touching acceptance speech and waited like a glowingly expectant puppy to be interviewed by NBC's Maria Menounos. And waited. And waited. And then had to run offstage, ignored by the blathering Ms. M. Such indignity!

Then, as Prince was a no-show to accept his award for best song, Justin Timberlake waited for his Petite Purple Majesty to come and collect his trophy, then saved the cringe-worthy moment by making himself a foot shorter and accepting on Prince's behalf.

121. Ms. Jolie acted as if she had a hot poker up her butt. Even if she was just there to "support Brad," the event required that she should have behaved in a more cordial manner. Her fame, and "good works" don't excuse rude behavior. Show some humility and realize that it''s your fame that allows you to to have the $$$ and the access to the media to continue improving your past immpression from the public as a spoited, privileged brat.

122. These people need to learn that "Its better to keep silent and be thought a fool, then to speak and remove all doubt."

123. For someone who asked earlier: Jen and Brad were still together when shooting began for Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The separation, at least it's announcement, did not come out until the movie had been released for quite some time. :)

124. I am simply saddened at the post I have read on here. There's no reason to be so angry at Angelina. This was Brad's night and she stood back from the action. She was classy enough to back away and let him enjoy his evening. They both know (all too well) how the media hounds them both 24/7. Angelina showed great respect for Brad by allowing him to shine on his big night and not allow the media to take that away from him. I applaud her actions.

Also, you all need to remember a few things.

#1. Who knows? For all we really know Angelina could have been sick with a flu bug or her mind on one of her children or whatever- yet she still wanted to be there for Brad. WHO knows? She is human before she is an actress and nobody should judge this woman without knowing ALL of the facts first. Would you like to be judged on EVERYTHING you do w/o knowing the facts first? I would not, and I believe she needs the same respect that we want other's to grant us.

#2. Ryan could have been the 250th interview she had that day and out of all the interviews, that's the one everyone wants to talk about.

#3. It was Brad's night and Ryan continuously asked about everything but the movie, trying to pull Angie into the drama. Brad was there for all his hard work on a very well made movie, so why was Ryan asking Angie about "how many kids they are going to have" and "what did you eat for breakfast"? I'm sorry, but as a journalist myself, I have to question Ryan's motives.

With ALL the work that family does to help others, how could anyone say they are doing it for the "wrong reasons"? Have a heart people! No matter what they do, they won't be doing the "right" thing. They simply can't win and I for one think that's a crying shame. Our world has become so cynical and so cruel that they would rather slur someone with derogatory unfounded remarks than to give them the praise and credit they deserve. That's very sad!

They are human first! All else is second.

I am nobody's fan, other than my own children, however; right is right and wrong will ALWAYS still be "wrong".

126.
Comparing Prince and Justin is like comparing apples and oranges. Prince has added to popular culture with his interpetation of R & B, funk etc. Listened to Sign O the times lately? All Justin has done is produce derivative pop music. In the end Who Cares?
Justin Timberlake - OVERRATED
Prince Nelson Rogers - Music Genius

127. Prince was late, he got stuck in traffic. And he is right, sexy never left. What Justin did was in poor taste, especially for someone who hopes to work with Prince in the future. But he's shown poor taste before, when he dissed an American Idol winner. If he's so sexy, why would he have to diss someone from American Idol? Anyway, whether you like his music or not, Prince is one of the most important artists of our times, and history will remember him that way.

128. For anyone diluted enough to think Justin Timberlake could even carry Prince's guitar... lol!... Just go back and watch the vid from his induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame (Which Justin will never get into), or better still, watch halftime of the Super Bowl. Enough said.

129. I did not watch much of the Globes, however what I did see was mostly an embarresment of sorts, for some actors and correspondents. Justin's "shorting" himself to accept Prince's trophy was tacky and I'm certain left a sour taste in quite a few Justin fans. Prince was stuck in traffic. I love Prince, but I'm sure it takes him awhile to get ready, what with the makeup and all. Anyway, it was great of Hugh Grant to acknowlege Prince and have him stand so he did get the acknowledgement he deserved. As for the America Ferrera incident, Maria What's Her Name needs to go into a different profession. She just babbled and was NOT professional. What is going on with all these interviewers and acceptance speeches? However Americas, was sweet and very heartfelt and Meryl , well she's genius. That's All.

130. To #1 - Maybe Angelina looked grumpy & upset because her MOTHER WAS DYING and it was hard to put on her best face for the cameras under such tragic circumstances. Maybe she just wasn't up for telling Ryan Seacrest what the family had for breakfast because she had more pressing concerns.

Maybe Angelina was thinking of her TERMINALLY ILL mother, just a thought. Don't be so quick to judge, one can never know what's going on in someone's personal life.
