46. After watching the first episode of Am Idol tonight in addition to these interviews, I am totally amazed that no one else is noticing her bizarre behavior. Her behaviors scream of a substance abuser? If you watched Tues' episode you will have seen that she couldn't sit still and her arms were all over the place. I feel like I am watching a train wreck!

48. i can relate to Paulas comments entirely. once i was on the phone to my shrink, AND text messaging my best friend at the same time, also booking a table for dinner, whilst driving my car. so wot, i did weave a little in and out of traffic. i was trying to concentrate on several multiple happenings!!. i got pulled over by some very unsympathetic police officers who were so disrespectful and wrote me a ticket. PAULA - i'm with you - a girl's gotta multi-task and people should be mindful of that

50. It is public knowledge that Paula has some serious neck problems for which she takes pain medication. Something is wrong with her jaw too. Either she's taking too much pain killers or mixing it with cocktails. Either way these sad excuses are no help to her. Apparently no one wants to do anything about it, including her, now that the new season Idol trainhas left the station. I saw her up close at a personal appearence in Boston when she was at a low point touting some diet shake. The woman is teeny tiny so an overdose of pills and booze is easy. Seems pills are the new coke in Hollywood. Easier to get a hold of and an acceptable PR "out" if things go bad.

52. Hope all the Production Executives, and the Hosts of this show ready themselves for the barage of questions they will all receive about Paulas "condition". The interest is shifting from the William Hung types and soon the real contestants to "whats going on with Paula"? Cant wait to see Simon explode after being asked about her for the 50th time on some of the mandatory interviews he will have to do for added promotion of the show.

Sooner or later this will all come to a head, but for the time being Fox is loving the added interest for what is morally the wrong reason. But thats show business, bottom line is what counts, not anyones well being.

I'm sure Seacrest is already getting ready for a special devoted to the Betty Ford Clinic and the tragedy of addiction with a follow up special on "Welcome Back Paula" once she completes her stay there.

Only risk, in the meantime, is that Paulas Nervous system doesnt shut down and she expires. Than they'd have some real explaining to do

53. Yeah maybe she was drunk or high but anyone who had a sense of humanity for another human being should not have let her go on.

It's too bad that society today glamorizes these so called stars who have more problems than the average Joe. They have tooooo much money and not enough to do with their time.

57. You're right, JennC. She had almost NO input or opinions at all on the contestants and the couple of things she said were so slurred. I think even Simon felt bad for her. He didn't pick on her once because he probably knew she couldn't retaliate. She was a mess. I think she's taking pills. Who is she fooling? Not the public. I can't believe AI is letting her continue like this! I am embarrased for her. She used to be so pretty and classy. Now she reminds me of Anna Nicole.

58. Somebody please get this girl some HELP! She looked coherent on Ellen, but she looked just as f***ed up on American Idol last night (I know that was taped) as she did in the Seattle and San Francisco interviews. SHE IS A MESS! PLEASE SOMEONE STOP HER FROM EMBARRASSING HERSELF! It is painful to watch!

59. Paula is ridiculous all of the time..I think its a pill addiction...some kind of painkillers because she's definately feeling no pain. Have you seen the tape of her selling jewelry on QV?.She is fried on that show....Paula, get some help.... You really need it! p.s. quit mixing the pills with alcohol.....its a death cocktail!

60. To #50: You are right, 'bout the pill and booze cocktail thing. I know for a fact, as for a very brief moment, I took my Dr. approved meds and washed them down with Mimosas (champagne with fresh squeezed orange juice), like a damned idiot I admit to having been at the time. I saw the evil of my ways, when I looked in the mirror and came to the realization that although I felt no pain, I was slurring my speech, much like Ms. Abdul, and being an absolute idiot, just like Paula is wacky stupid. I was lucky - I sought help, received it and totally cleaned up and have been sober since. Reality isn't bad at all; In fact, I can finally appreciate God's gifts to me, now that I see them all ever so clearly. Maybe she will do the same, God help her.

Somebody needs to help her, and fast, or we will be reading her Obit relatively soon, judging by her recent appearances. Simon needs to do her a huge favor and insist that she go away and not come back till she is "clean". For her own good.
