Disney Star Cops Plea in DUI Case

TMZ has learned Anneliese van der Pol has pleaded no contest to DUI after being arrested for driving with a whopping .19 blood-alcohol level.

The "That's So Raven" star was arrested on July 10, 2006 after colliding with a parked car. According to the official report, obtained by TMZ, the crash caused "a domino effect in which the parked vehicle hit two additional vehicles." The report continues: "After hitting the parked vehicle, Defendant then lost control of her vehicle, traveled across the roadway, and finally collided with another vehicle..."

The LAPD arrested van der Pol, whose blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit of .08.

The Disney star pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors -- driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level above .08. The Los Angeles City Attorney's office prosecuted the case.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 19. According to the documents obtained by TMZ, the court has offered Ms. van der Pol 36 months probation and a penalty of $2,844 in fines and assessments. She'll also have to attend
an alcohol education program.

17. This is proof celebrities get off easy (like Mel Gibson). It's bullsh*t. California state law throws the BOOK at you if you're above .15 bac and cause an accident. Good god, she was .19! ! Her little penalty is more typical for someone who was UNDER .15 and caused NO accident. I hate celebrities.

18. You jokers are jerks! Laugh and make jokes. It's sooooo funny until someone is killed by a drunk driver. And even then, too many drivers usually gets a slap on the wrist. The only time any D.U.I driver gets anytime in jail is if this is a recurring pattern (many deaths or many D.U.I records.) Or people become so outraged it gets media attention.

You won't think it's funny to bury YOUR 7 year old child!

20. Why do drunks always get away with light sentences? There were three D.U.I. cases in my city were the drivers got no jail time or suspended sentences. One guy ran over a medium and struck and killed a child! No jail time whatsoever. Celebrity or not, it's not right. And anyone who says "people make mistakes" think about your family and see how casual you'd feel if some drunk mowed down your kin. That van der Pol B*tch deserves a harsher sentence.

22. If I was one of the producers of That's So Raven, I'd be embarrassed to have Annelise van der Pol on the set of that show. What they need to do is get her off the show so she can get some help. I watched the show last summer in New York and it's quite funny. Now, I find out for the first time that she drove drunk last year and hit several cars. That's what drinking can do. She's going to have to really explain herself to get herself out of this PR nightmare. This is just as worse as Jeff Timmons when he got arrested for drunk driving in Florida last year and had a cocky attitude with police. Just celebrities who have a hard time balancing celebrity and their private lives.

26. Anyone on here saying that "we are so mean" need to think of what would have happened if she had hit your mother, father, daughter, son, friend with her drunk antics....would it be such a chuckle then? Poeple that drive drunk, especially at a level 19 blood alcohol level......need to be admitted to rehab etc., they need to do more then suspend their licesnce for a little while.......hitting parked cars, was a blessing.....

27. Honestly, The show sucks but its not funny. The people that owned those cars are lucky they weren't in them because they could have been killed. Losing some one to a drunk driver is not a laughing matter. The force of the "domino effect" could have probably injured them greatly. Not to mention how fast she had to be going to put out that much force. I'm glad she's ok too. I hate the show but her singing is amazing.

30. I don't understand all these stars who go out and party, and then attempt to drive home drunk as a skunk. You would think with all the money they have they would at LEAST have the brains to call a cab or hire a personal driver.

Such a shame... I have to say I've lost respect for her. She's a talented actress and singer, but I will never look at her the same way.

Perhaps she'll learn her lesson and never do anything as childish and reckless as this again.
