Rosie Dumps on "Idol" and Abdul

Click to return to TMZ.comRosie O'Donnell went on the offense yet again, this time the target in her "View" was only the biggest phenomenon on TV, "American Idol."

After showing a clip from last night's "Idol" in which Simon, Paula, and Randy mocked a particularly ridiculous wannabe, Ro tore into the show, calling it "so sad" and excoriating the "millionaire" judges for laughing at contestants. And, as she did yesterday, Rosie suggested that one judge (hello, Paula!) was "probably intoxicated." You could almost feel the squirm ooze out of "Idol" sweetheart Kellie Pickler, who was guest-hosting for the day.

If Rosie seems a little cranky, she's had a tough few weeks, by her own admission. As she told guest Juliette Binoche, she's been dealing with "menopause and billionaires."

2. i have to agree with her on that one! unless one is dressing like a clown or wearing ridiculous outfit on purppoose...it's fine to make fun of, but of their physcial appearance (something they can't help)...that is just wrong and mean. They all should take a good look at themselves...they're no better!

4. tmz just stop it already. at this rate your gonna talk about the view every day because they talk about "shit" that's going on everywhere. you've become obsessed bullies otherwise you'd be covering bill o'reilly every day or hannity, or limbaugh, ot the numerous other sources who talk about celebrities and issues. in fact... that's what YOU do. ironic...isn't it. you guys trash paula abdul... no big deal, leno or letterman talk about abdul... no big deal... rosie talks about it and "how dare she". it's getting ridiculous.

8. Give me a break. How many times are you going to single out Rosie. Joy and Elizabeth were also in on the conversation. In fact, Elizabeth brought it up first. Idol, does in fact, make fun at people at the beginning of the show. I do not watch the show until they have made their final selections. I do not feel comfortable watching the judges judges make fun of people. Enough about Rosie. Paula does act drunk and stupid. I do not know why Simon makes fun of people. He should take a good look at himself. In fact, Randy and Paul should do the same. They should become contestants and we all should judge them. How will they feel when the shoe is on the other foot. Again, enough already about Rosie. Pick on someone else. Good for Rosie, Joy and Elizabeth in saying something about Idol.

12. She is right. She holds the view of MANY americans and she has the venue to say these things. I would say the same thing if I were in her shoes!!!

13. to #1- if you want REAL news......aren't you on the wrong website?? ThisIS a celebrity news and gossip site. If thats not what you are wanting , dont read it and go to cnn news or something like that!

As for Rosie and her ongoing bashing of EVERYONE- she needs to let go of her lesbian rage and get a life. Its ok for her to go off on everyone but she gets her panties in a wad when they call her out (ie: Kelly Ripa and now The Donald). Maybe shes just like some hetero men, when the loving at going on at home they turn a little bitter???

14. you guys are bullies. it's so dumb. all the hosts were talking about how cruel it is to make fun of someone who might not be ready for it. not just her. plus rosie is a big fan of idol. she doesn't like the humiliation part of it in the beginning. stop picking out clips and picking on her. it's not fair. and why don't you talk about how she surprised kelli with her gold record... it was such a nice moment but i guess big evil rosie is not worthy of that attention.

15. I think she's right on the money. She has the guts to say what everyone is thinking, and I think it's hilarious. Television would be boring without her. So what, she said Paula was probably intoxicated, and damn, is anyone going to doubt her? I mean, seriously, did you see American Idol last night, Paula was out of it!
