Rosie Dumps on "Idol" and Abdul

Click to return to TMZ.comRosie O'Donnell went on the offense yet again, this time the target in her "View" was only the biggest phenomenon on TV, "American Idol."

After showing a clip from last night's "Idol" in which Simon, Paula, and Randy mocked a particularly ridiculous wannabe, Ro tore into the show, calling it "so sad" and excoriating the "millionaire" judges for laughing at contestants. And, as she did yesterday, Rosie suggested that one judge (hello, Paula!) was "probably intoxicated." You could almost feel the squirm ooze out of "Idol" sweetheart Kellie Pickler, who was guest-hosting for the day.

If Rosie seems a little cranky, she's had a tough few weeks, by her own admission. As she told guest Juliette Binoche, she's been dealing with "menopause and billionaires."

16. to #1- if you want REAL news......aren't you on the wrong website?? ThisIS a celebrity news and gossip site. If thats not what you are wanting , dont read it and go to cnn news or something like that!

As for Rosie and her ongoing bashing of EVERYONE- she needs to let go of her lesbian rage and get a life. Its ok for her to go off on everyone but she gets her panties in a wad when they call her out (ie: Kelly Ripa and now The Donald). Maybe shes just like some hetero men, when the loving at going on at home they turn a little bitter???

17. She is right. She holds the view of MANY americans and she has the venue to say these things. I would say the same thing if I were in her shoes!!!

If she didn't speak up, some of us would have no voice !!

18. you guys are bullies. it's so dumb. all the hosts were talking about how cruel it is to make fun of someone who might not be ready for it. not just her. plus rosie is a big fan of idol. she doesn't like the humiliation part of it in the beginning. stop picking out clips and picking on her. it's not fair. and why don't you talk about how she surprised kelli with her gold record... it was such a nice moment but i guess big evil rosie is not worthy of that attention.

19. Rosie you should stick to what you know best. eating food and eating pussy. other then that shut your fat trap. No one cares about your opinions, your a hater, your breed negativity, and the only time you talk is when your bashing people. Why don't you take a self-help course, instead of trying to be the world authority on things?

20. I think she's right on the money. She has the guts to say what everyone is thinking, and I think it's hilarious. Television would be boring without her. So what, she said Paula was probably intoxicated, and damn, is anyone going to doubt her? I mean, seriously, did you see American Idol last night, Paula was out of it!

21. hey theresa.... get a brain. rosie said something about donald mid december. that's it. since then she's reacted to his comments adding to about one minutes worth of talk. he's been bullying her non stop the whole time and as a result his show is a flop. came in 4th place in it's time slot. doesn't matter how many times you and people like you lie on the internet about how aften rosie has attacked donald trump... the truth is she hasn't. you must be a republican... they tend to repeat lies over and over and over

22. Ellen is a class act. Her handling of T.R. Knight yesterday was total respect and class. Rosie belongs on a dock shouting orders to the other people lifting crates. They would have more class than she would but Rosie doesn't belong on a national television show. She doesn't know how to dress, does she comb her hair, or perhaps even shower? It doesn't look like it. Slob is correct. It has nothing to do with her weight and everything to do with her awful personality and loud mouth. She's stupid-bottom line. Did she graduate from any schools? I doubt it.

24. I agree with Rosie palms only on Paula....ie drunk. As for Idol--- those trying out know what they are getting in to. If you can't take the heat then get out of the kitchen.

25. This is such a kiss up industry. I love how people act like Rosie was the only one making comments about American Idol or Paula Abdul. Paula Abdul's behavior has been talked and joked about on many many shows

28. Okay, Am. Idol has been doing this since 2002! The whole set up and why the premiers get so much attention is them judging (because that's what judges do) other ppls performances, and believe it or not, your appearance is part of your performance.

Rosie, whom I have no problems with either way, has judged many ppl, before and since she's been on the View. Her potium should not be that of judgement, but of good entertaining news. Paula, Simon and Randy are judges, and while a lot of you don't know much on either of the judges for Am. Idol, all are very respected in their fields.

I love tryouts for Am. Idol, it's the best part of the show to me. I've been both judged and in the position to judge singing acts, and yes...when it's funny, it's just plain funny. Rosie, sit out on this one it's truly a losing battle. Try to talk about something interesting...without such brash opinions.

29. American Idol is fine just the way it is. There is no way those losers at the beginning of the show can actually believe they are potential stars. Simon sets them straight so they can "move on." If Rosie doesn't like it , change the channel babe!!!

30. Rosie is 100% right. The producers and judges of American Idol have a warped sense of how American's want to be entertained. The show's ratings would not be negatively impacted if the judges would STOP making fun of the contestants physical characteristics. ESPECIALLY the singers that are obviously mentally impaired (like this kid was). When did American's humor turn so nasty??
