Rosie Dumps on "Idol" and Abdul

Click to return to TMZ.comRosie O'Donnell went on the offense yet again, this time the target in her "View" was only the biggest phenomenon on TV, "American Idol."

After showing a clip from last night's "Idol" in which Simon, Paula, and Randy mocked a particularly ridiculous wannabe, Ro tore into the show, calling it "so sad" and excoriating the "millionaire" judges for laughing at contestants. And, as she did yesterday, Rosie suggested that one judge (hello, Paula!) was "probably intoxicated." You could almost feel the squirm ooze out of "Idol" sweetheart Kellie Pickler, who was guest-hosting for the day.

If Rosie seems a little cranky, she's had a tough few weeks, by her own admission. As she told guest Juliette Binoche, she's been dealing with "menopause and billionaires."

63. Attacking peoples looks that they are born with is just cruel. THese poor saps dont have the resources to surgically fix themselves or either pamper themselves like the judges. Keep the personal attacks out of the critique, and just judge the voices. Rosie is correct, the more this happens, the more we accept the judging of others and our future generations will become even more self centered and obsessed with their bodies and plastic surgery. This does need to stop.

65. She's a two-faced hater! She talks about people then fawns all over them when they show up as guests. She can't say it to their faces just like when Taylor Hicks came on the show. She said she knew he would win, etc. I agree with Trump.

66. #10 - Well said! Ellen was FABULOUS interviewing TR Knight & really set an example for what true class means!

Rosie is always starting everything. SHE brought Donald's personal life into his decision to give Miss USA a 2nd chance. Why didn't she just comment on his decision -- not trash his morals?

And she's a hypocrite. TRASHING Kelly Ripa for what was NOT a homophobic remark -- and then, when Kelly responds, with class, RO the HO is pissed because it was done publicly -- on the phone on THE VIEW! Well, RO, why didn't you speak to Kelly privately?? You trash her ON THE AIR but she should respond OFF THE AIR?? Get real, bitch!!

Get over the IDOL thing. It would be ONE THING if people who tried out DID NOT know what they were in for, but they do. People watch the auditions because they're funny -- and heartwarming when someone really great shines through.

Listen, the reason THE VIEW'S ratings have risen is because people are tuning in to see a train wreck -- and many are hoping for the day when it all explodes.

RO is a firebrand & she's a VERY VERY ANGRY woman who is projecting her issues onto as many people as she can. Honestly, I don't know how her girlfriend can stand her! Wait until they break up someday. You think RO is angry now!!

I used to really like Rosie. She is such a militant, mean hypocrite now.

F her. I've lost all respect.,

68. StrongWoman:

Too bad you are totally obscure in your comments. Yes, I am in the legal profession and I doubt you are more than a file clerk, dear. I think we all have a right to our opinion and an intelligent woman wouldn't pick this person as a role model. Next!!! *smile*

70. STRONG WOMEN

Why do you mention you have a daughter?

What is the point of that?

Is that another attempt for female breeders to get attention and special treatment?

oh by the way you didn't mention a man and I can see why you may not have one . . .

damn you are bitter!!!!!!!

71. Rosie is the ONLY reason anyone watches the view! She speaks her mind and oddly enough I agree wtih her (most) of the time. If you want to take swings take them at the george bush loving republican airhead Elizabeth who's claim to fame is Survivor. Give me a break.

72. # 17 Legal Beagle, you should first educate yourself before you blurb nonsense. Rosie has done more for this countries children then most. You should google her charities and donations to many needy children across the country where high profile celebs prefer to take their money outside our country. She is an american who cares about our childrens future. Her sexuality or anyones for that matter is her business. Why look at her as a lesbian?? Why not a person?? I believe she represents alot of woman for many different reasons otherwise she wouldnt have so many fans. Not one person is for everyone but her point is well taken on making fun of innocent people. Ignorance amazes me.

74. I hate it when people write "Isn't there anything better for you to talk about" or "why is this news" or worse yet, "isn't her/his 15 minutes of fame up yet". How big of a loser are you if you REALLY feel like that, yet you take the time to READ blogs and emails and stories about what you don't seem to have time for or interest in, and worse, WRITE about them. Just shut up and move on if you're so above it all. Rosie has a big mouth, but come one, Paula did seem drunk. Why are people afraid to call it like they see it these days? Rosie was wrong to chastise the judges for laughing at the contestants. If a person is going to present themselves in the manner that these people did, they have to realize that they will be served up. That's what "ENTERTAINMENT" is people!! If you don't want to be ridiculed, then don't go on TV. The problem I have is, many of these people seemed to be somewhat retarded. A no-talent is one thing, but a functionally retarded person is another. The families of the retarded people hould have told them to stay at home. We have the right to laugh at people. That right has not been ripped from us Rosie. They shouldn't be in that type of business if they don't want to be laughed at and ridiculed. You should know that.
