Brown's Will -- From Silver to Appliances

TMZ has obtained a copy of James Brown's will, and it reads like the will of a guy who didn't have much -- other than knickknacks.

The will, which begins by noting that Brown is also known as "The Godfather of Soul," leaves his six children "furniture, appliances, furnishings, pictures, silverware, china, glass, books, jewelry, wearing apparel, boats, automobiles, and other vehicles..."

The document, signed in 2000, does not mention how much cold hard cash the estate is worth.

Brown did not include his partner, Tomi Rae Hynie or their 5-year-old child. Hynie is expected to contest the will and could end up inheriting 1/3 of the estate.

1. I hope the woman and her 5 year old do get 1/3 or more of this estate. Greedy people.

3. WOW, this is really low budget.....this looks more like the will of Flavor Flav, then the Godfather of soul!

4. Simply the biggest piece of fece in the world. Blind people will praise anything as long as he not beating their sister or mother. To not put the five year old in his Will shows the evil of this man. Maybe you are mad at the mom but you screwed her and got her pregnant and that not the kid"s fault. If you didn't want a kid you should have either not had sex or worn a condom.

5. He is probably not the 'cold bastard' you think. The Will was signed in 2000, and not updated between then and his death in 2006. The 5 year old child would have been born in 2001. It would appear that he did not disown or denounce the existence of the 5 year old child, rather he was too busy dancing to update his will to include his 7th child. Jump Back - Touch yourself. Heh!

6. I cannot believe how insensitive he was! How can he not include his 5 year old son in his will!!!! What a pig.

7. To #3, maybe the kid isn't in the will because James Brown wasn't sure he was really his???

8. Just FYI...this is a "pour-over" will. It is used when an individual holds their property in trust. The pour-over is intended to catch anything that was not placed in trust. This is very standard language and probably is the exact same will that is used for all of the law firm's trust clients. This is why specific gifts and estimated worth are not mentioned. That is all in the trust...that is the document I would like to see.

9. Well what TMZ failed to mention was that this will was written before his son was born. His son is 5 yrs old. The will was written in 2000. Do the math. But that does not excuse the fact that he should have had it amended to include his 5 yr old son.

10. James Brown probably wasn't sure if this kid was even his. Seeing that this skank of a loser who had him was married to someone else at the time. It's sad that many of his generation die with little or no money considering all the contributions to music and society he left.

12. Multiple boats, automobiles, and vehicles doesn't sound like just knickknacks to me.

13. Well, David, there is always DNA. A test would/could clear up this question if he didn't believe this child was his. He is a loser, as is his beneficiaries.

14. "....jewelry, wearing apparel, boats, automobiles, and other vehicles..."

This sounds like "knick knacks"? Boats, Cars, other vehicles? I'm also a woman who enjoys a nice piece of jewelry. I wouldn't mind inheriting from James Brown.

Also reported: does not include cash!!!!
