Elisabeth Goes Nuts on Guys with Penises

Click to return to TMZ.comWithout a Trump or a Paula to take on, the huffing and puffing on today's "View" was supplied by resident right-wing schoolmarm, Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

During a discussion on adultery, the easily-flustered Hasselbeck took on parents who cheat on their spouses, saying that their affairs made them bad parents, and shocked her fellow yentas with a rant on men who "follow their penises." (Working something out, are we, darling?) Her rather older, wiser colleagues thought her "View" rather extreme, and essentially told her to take the stick out of her you-know-what.

When Babwa Walters is telling you to chill, girl, you know you're going a bit far.

31. #15, Cheaters are also liars. Just loving your kids doesn't make you a good parent; teaching and modeling good behavior, morals, and principles is part of parenting, too.

32.
I see nothing wrong with staying out all night and sleeping with tons of guys.

My kids won't remember and even if they do, who cares?

35. I am no prude but if you want to screw around you should not get married. Once trust is lost it can never be regained again and the marriage is ultimately doomed. It is one thing to sleep around when you are single and enjoying the party life. I haven't a clue why people get married if they don't take their marriage vows seriously. Once you have children you not only mess up your own life by being unfaithful to your spouse but that of your children..you set a bad example and don't teach them anything about commitment, integrity, loyalty and trust.

36. Man... TMZ staff, you are messed up. You state "Her rather older, wiser colleagues thought her View rather extreme," as if to point out that Elisabeth is being irrational. But did you hear the audience applaud Elisabeth at the end? They obviously agree with her. Look at Rosie and that other pig's face (the one that looks like Bette Midler from Jersey) - they look stunned. LOL. Anyway, TMZ, You just don't like her because she is a "conservative."

Now I am not a bible-thumping conservative, so don't lump me into that crowd. However, I do agree that the erosion of family values and morales is having serious repercussions on our society. More and more people just want to do what feels good, and don't care about the effect on others.

Is it possible for someone to have an affair and still parent successfully? Sure, it is possible. But I believe that most people can't do so without it leading to a detrimental effect on the family.

37. As parents we are the primary role models for our kids. There is no way that having an affair does not affect a child. What are they to learn from it? That it's okay not to keep a promise (wedding vows)? That it's okay to lie and be sneaky? That it's okay to disrespect someone you're supposed to love and be a partner with? I agree with Elisabeth on this one. I don't think she's being a prude on this subject. We have become a "feel good" society and don't care how our actions affect anyone else and that's a terrible example for kids to grow up with. This country needs to get back to the basics and have some moral values again to teach our kids. This shouldn't even be up for debate.

38. ummm being a child coming from a home of an affair, I think I can be the first to say that it IS bad parenting, not the sole parenting, but bad parenting nonetheless. When a wife or husband cheats on their spouse, sorry guys, but you're cheating on the kids too, I know firsthand and for those of you to point the finger at her and call her a prude, I think unless you've experienced it or the years of damage it causes, you're flying blind on your comments and perspectives.

39. Elisabeth is 100% right. Joy and her "so if he cheats on his taxes, it must be the same thing" stupidity, and Babwa and her "little affair" insanity make me wonder if they've seen The Vagina Monologues one too many times. I think that's what they're talking with.

40. I have to say I never agree with Elizabeth Hasselback, and I sometimes I even think she is the most vacuously judgemental person allowed on television. But many people have come out in the past and said that their philandering parents affected them emotionally and mentally. Look at Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight.

41. Who cares what she has to say anyway? What are her credentials for being on this show? Oh she was on Survivor, that great training ground for talented journalists.

42. I'm definitely a Hollywood born & bred, leftist, hippie liberal, and I even agree with Elisabeth. What kind of stupid writers seek to mock someone standing up for being faithful to one's spouse? Oh yeah, she must be some sort of harpie prude for thinking that being a liar and a cheater is harmful to children in the family. *rolls eyes* Get a life.

Good for you, Elisabeth, for speaking your mind and for standing up for happy and healthy families!

43. #6: Lisa, a LOSER is someone who can't even spell the word she uses to insult someone else.

44. Those of you who think it's okay to have affairs within marriage - I hope you told your spouses that when you took your vows.

I hope you're still okay with that when you wonder if you have a sexually transmitted disease from your spouse's affairs, or when your spouse decides to leave you and the kids for his/her affair.

When there is moral low ground in the family, it typically not does limit itself to one area.

Kudos to Dave in PDX, thank you for post #29
