Racial Ray?

Rachel and OprahPerky talk show host Rachael Ray made disparaging racial remarks about the woman who gave Ray her big shot at daytime TV -- none other than Oprah Winfrey, according to TMZ sources. It's a shocking account of a dinner that occurred during the period that the show was being sold.

Rewind to December 3, 2005. Ray was at the Century City Shopping Mall in Los Angeles for a book signing. Reps from King World, the production company that was syndicating the show, were shooting the event for its sales presentation.

"Why is she wearing slave drag? She obviously has problems being black."

At around 7:00 PM, Ray, along with seven others, went to Houston's Restaurant in the mall. They sat in a booth in the far right rear of the restaurant. Ray ordered fish and complained to the table it was dry. She Oprah's Portrait from was also drinking red wine and lots of it -- one source says a minimum of four big glasses.

We're told Ray became "extremely loud and aggressive," and began dissing Oprah. Sources say she told the group about a portrait of Oprah that sits in the lobby of Harpo Productions in Chicago. It's from the movie "Beloved" and shows Winfrey's back, enhanced with scars. She's also wearing a skirt from the slavery era.

Back at the table, sources say Ray launched into attack mode: "Why is she wearing slave drag? She obviously has problems being black."

But Oprah wasn't Ray's only target. Sources say she told the group how much she liked Jennifer Aniston and then called Brad Pitt a "pussy boy." But her harshest comments were reserved for Angelina Jolie, calling her "a skanky, backdoor c**t."

TMZ contacted the Director of Publicity for Rachael Ray, Charlie Dougiello, who said, "Rachael did attend the dinner referenced and enjoyed wine and good conversation with friends and colleagues. She denies making any of the comments referenced. In fact, there are several words that are attributed to Rachael that she has never uttered in her life."

Dougiello added, "Neither in public nor in private has Rachael made a disparaging or cruel remark about her friend and mentor, Oprah, nor a celebrity couple she has never even met."

Oprah Gallery: Click to launchDougiello also said, "There were several associates of Rachael's at that table who, unprompted, agreed that Rachael never made any of the comments she is being accused of making... and it seems very convenient that these accusations are being levied at a time when Rachael's success has focused the public eye on her."

46. If you don't like the "malicious" gossip at TMZ or similar sites, go somewhere else and stop complaining in a random gossip post.

47. I dont think for one second that rachael ray said those things, why now, at the height of her popularity are these damaging racist comments coming out, if this happened in 2005, why has this taken so long to be made public, I think these "sources" are just trying to create controversy, doesnt that just make there lives seem so pathetic. HMMM> ponder that

48. TMZ you are so full of sh*t, you and your editors are the ones who are racial always trying to start some type of bullsh*t. If you read your poll the people didn't think Rachael was making a racist comment. Can't wait until TMZ gets sued for libel.

49. Love it! Never been a fan of Rachael Ray's before, actually always wanted to slap her because of her joy of cooking, which I hate. But after hearing this, if its true, Rock on Rachael!

50. Obviously people love to be "haters" and I'm not referring to Rachel but some of these comments. I don't really believe that she made those comments; perhaps one of the other people at the table partaking in the wine did and Rachel is the only celeb name that would get this in the press. IF THIS HAPPENED, WHY IS IT COMING OUT OVER A YEAR LATER????? Think about it folks. Some bitter person put this out for an alternative reason.

52. To Angel:

Everyone is jumping on Oprah about not having rappers on her show or not building a school here in the US, or not being black enough for the black people here in the US. I am a black woman myself and I totally understand why she does not have rappers on her show or why she would build schools somewhere else where the people would be appreciative of it. The children here in the US are totally spoiled and just expect things and would more than likely destroy it. I am not saying that the school would be destroyed because it is my opinion, it is a fact not just here in Philly but other places as well. There is no way that I would have rappers on the show that demean women calling them all names that they would not call their mother or sister. My children is not allowed to listen to it in my house and if they are caught singing it, they have to read a book and give me a book report. I want my children to be well rounded and respectful of others and listening to that type of music is not respectable. And the fact that woman are listening to this music and dancing to it and thinks it cute, does not help. Really all you are doing is to help make more money for the record companies. The bottom line is that it is Oprah's money and her show and she can do with it as she pleases. To Rachel Ray, never ever bite the black hand that feeds you. She has to money and power to make and break you

53. OF COURSE SHE DID. WHY SHOULD SHE BE ANY DIFFERENT THAN ANY OF THOSE OTHER PLASTIC, NO-TALENT IDIOT'S ON DAY-TIME TALK SHOWS OR IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY, WHO ARE EXTREMELY VAIN, MALICIOUS, MEAN, CRUEL, SNIDE, STUCK-UP, IGNORANT, PETTY, IMMORAL, UNETHICAL, POOR ROLE MODELS, UGLY WITH NO MAKE-UP ON AND CONSTANTLY AT EACH OTHER'S THROATS!!!. OF COURSE SHE SAID IT, AND TRUTH BE TOLD, PROBABLY A LOT WORSE. IF YOU DON'T THINK SHE SAID IT, YOU ARE IN LA-LA LAND AND HAVE NO BRAIN MATTER.

57. hmmm..."became extremely loud?" I wasn't aware that she had different volume levels; therefore my opinion is that the entire article is full of lies. Besides, red wine with fish??? I agree with Barbara.

59.
Wow, that stuff she said about Brad and Angelina really shows that she's insensitive towards whites too. What a shame.

60. To me, it sounds like she thought she was amongst friends and was just voicing her opinions about a VARIETY of different things......diss'n Brad and Angelina.....Jennifer Aniston etc.....none of those were "RACIAL" as your headline states......even the comment about Oprah, maybe she was saying that IF she had the money that Oprah had....you best to belive she wouldn't have the picture of her in slave clothes so blatently displayed- unless maybe Oprah has a hidden message in doing that.....she obviously has a lot more beautiful pics which she could ahve displayed.....not really certain why her making a comment, would make her a racist.......>maybe because she's not I. Washington.....maybe because she's a white girl....people always have an issue when a white chick makes a comment.....it's ALWAYS racial......so ridiculous.....
