Rosie and Babwa: Trouble in Hell?

Click to return to TMZ.comMaybe the Donald was right about the strife between Rosie and Babwa.

On today's installment of "The View," moderator Ro put Barbara Walters -- her boss, mind you -- firmly in her place. Gabbing about the State of the Union address, O'Donnell called for a member of Congress to put the President up for impeachment, and compared Bush's failures unfavorably to Bill Clinton's.

Mama Walters, not wanting to get into a prolonged debate over Wild Bill's behavior, suggested that they move on to the next topic. Not so fast, said Rosie. "Where do you want me to move on to?" And they did not move on.

46. Barbara Walters would not be where she is today were she not her father's daughter. If I hear her mention her "special relationship" with one more so called celebrity, I'll gag. God forbid she have an opinion on ANYTHING. Rosie Odonnell is a self made comic and political spokesperson. She has more brains and talent in her little finger than the vast majority of the bloggers on this site have in their whole bodies.

47. wow Haj, that was a long one! But I agree with you. Rosie is starting to crack. I watch the show while getting ready in the morning and I think it's just a matter of time before she tries to get out of her contract. She really is America's "most hated" right now. How can one person offend som many people in one month?!!! You can tell that her cohorts are all starting to hate the sound of her voice - as do most of us. I give her 6 months.

49. Rosie's messing with Barbara? What a dumbass. If Barbara suggests moving on to Rosie, then Barbara's trying to diplomatically warn her; be controversial while remaining inside the bounds of journalistic standards, good taste and no litigation. No one can tell Rosie anything. She's a bit of a bull inside a china shop; all rough edges and no finesse. Barbara is all finesse. Rosie has raw talent; she will either learn from the master, or won't. I'd rather spend 5 minutes with Barbara than hours with Rosie; but that's just me.

50. Was it my imagination or was Joy laughing at the photo of the obese man shown on the screen behind her on today's View? Just curious.

51. Some of you people have lost touch about WHAT the subject is about-- an employee sassing her employer and doing her own thing.

52. To be a good journalist, a person should be objective, or have an ability to take all sides of an issue into account, so that the viewer can make an INFORMED personal decision about an issue. Rosie's opinions are way too strong and one sided for her to ever become a good journalist. She will always offend far too many people by speaking before she has thought an issue through completely. Our airwaves should not be pulpits for these kind of people; if public opinion is stirred in an uneducated, unobjective one-sided and uninformed manner, it can be downright dangerous. Broadcasting standards seem to not exist anymore. The downhill slide. I'm not saying Rosie doesn't have a right to her opinion; I'm just saying I'm wondering why any of thousands of people with far superior intellect aren't sitting in that chair on the view. They got what they hired, and I think the American public deserves so much more...

55. The only time I hear about the view is on her on TMZ.I think Rosie
makes it way too easy to be added to the TMZ destroy list. Barbara
like Larry King have to refrain from voicing their views because their
bread hangs on getting this unattainable interview. I believe Barbara
would be uncomfortable with any harsh critics of political figures
she has to work with...Rosie is just not a respectable and she is not
FAT she is OBESE and thus a major drain on our health system…. upping
our insurance premiums and all...I think the view should consider the
topic " are obese people costing us to pay more for healthcare? " Then I
wonder how vocal ,Miss bloated piggy is going to be............enough
with lynching people , Rosie, let us see you tackle something close to home...............
After all we have to be subjected to what a wonderful gay life you lead…lets dicuss your horrid obesity and hanging tummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

56. The more this "View" show slips into the sewer, I imagine the more Meridith(sp? my apologies!) kisses the cornerstone of 30 Rockefeller Ctr. every chance she gets. Smartest move she ever made. And ... she is worthy of the opportunity!

As for Babwa: though I don't like her stance on many, MANY things, I do believe she is too good a journalist for that kind of a show.

My opinion + .50 cents = one half a cup of coffee.

57. Rosie, you go girl,BW had no right to cut you off!! Bush is the closest we have come to having a Dictator in this Country!!! I wish they would impeach his sorry self!!

58. Haj,you and Cindy need to TALK ON THE PHONE and not bother us with a 1,000 word essay. Damn!

59. OK. Everyone thats bitching about Rosie speaking her mind. STOP IT. Its called THE VIEW. HOT TOPICS. Lord.. change the damn channel if you cant stand it.

Looks like most Americans CAN stand it or watch it for the "good TV" it makes. Ratings show it all. Period.
