Just When You Thought it Was Safe Underwater...

1/25/2007 4:59 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ photogs strapped on scuba tanks and risked their lives to get underneath the fins of the hottest fish in the ocean! Wait'll ya see the size of those gills!

Not really. We've been spoofed on YouTube ... and it's pretty damn hilarious.

Did you even read the article/most of the reasonable comments? The shark was going to die either way. It could have even exploded thanks to the fact that it was under so much pressure.

Actually it is the frilled shark and it is real. It has 300 teeth and lives 4200 feet below sea level.

Hey, it may have been sick and almost ready to die, but that does NOT give them the right to shorten its life further. It is a wild, bueatiful animal that had never had exposure to humans before. The stress of the move caused it to die prematurely. No wild animal should be captured like that, especially such rare animals as the frilled shark!

The people who ENJOY this video are horrible, adn the people who made it are worse...

And we call them animals! The poor creature can't die in peace!

this is so totally fake. Even though I did see the real news clip of it, there is no way this shark can be real! This website is nothing but a fake.

Ya'll, this is a real story, and it is sad, but the death of the shark is not the fault of the scientists who captured it. The shark was sick to begin with. That is the reason it came into such shallow waters.

must been one of them terrorism supportin democrats who made that video, we all know how stupid them morons can be

Hey sick or not this shark was not invited to the surface so he had no business being there. He was just asking to be captured when he decided he was tough enough to venture into areas he was not familiar with. Damn tourists

It's sad. Let's go back to having a regard for life, death and the suffering of a beautiful creature. Let's not turn it into a cheap internet thrill. It was a gorgeous creature that deserved to die in freedom.
