Tara Picks "Today" & "Tonight" Over Oprah

She's only been out of rehab for a few days, but embattled Miss USA Tara Conner has already started a major war between TV megastars.

Sources connected with the pageant tell TMZ that both "Oprah" and the "Today" show battled hard to land Tara's first post-rehab appearance and "Today" won. We're told Tara chose "Today" because the interview would be all about her -- but on "Oprah," she would have to share the stage with The Donald and others.Tara will appear on "Today" February 1.

We've learned that Tara's second appearance will be on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Feb 2.

And we're told there's an internal battle among pageant bigwigs over which TV entertainment magazine show Tara will do. One pageant source says it's getting ugly because of the various alliances.

TMZ broke the story that Conner was in hot water because of her hard-partying ways.

16. I’d like to first say the girl is smoking hot with a perfect body. She’s getting a little publicity, good for her. After the pageant who ever hears what these girls are up to? She more famous the last years Miss USA.
Also I’d like to thank #8 LenoLoser for calling out #1 Farrah. Do you even realize how ignorant you sound when you call someone a racist and then use a racial slur? And do you hate all nationalities or just whites? People like you, not Trump or Conner, are what’s wrong with the country.

Miss USA and Miss Teen USA together, that’s what makes this country the greatest in the world! Doesn’t get any better then that!

18. Today and Tonight are on NBC. The Apprentice is on NBC...Donald owns Tara Connor...er...uh...The Miss USA franchise. What a shock she will do the NBC shows. Wanna bet she does Access Hollywood produced by NBC Universal?
TV is an undehanded and manipulative business and who are they manipulating most...the "ignorant" viewers which they think all of us are!

20. Wonder when Rosie and Bawa will have her on the View? That would be an interesting situation there. No offers from them yet? wonder why?!?!
This whole situation is rediculous. Trump has turned Miss USA and the whole pageant thing into something maybe a little above a wet t shirt contest. As for Miss USA morals, posing for Playboy or Hustler??? What is the Donald thinking? I think its from another organ besides his brain!

22. Its amazing that she was allowed to have another for her behavior AFTER she won the crown, but Vanessa Williams' crown was taken for nude photos BEFORE she became Miss USA. Makes you wonder.......

30. I am guessing that noone that has been writing any of these negative comments has ever screwed up. I understand that she is in the spotlight and should have made better choices, but she is human. I praise anyone who will give a person a second chance. I feel sorry for those of you who do not see that. If you have children, God help them if they ever make a mistake.... will you give them a second chance or give them crap about what they did for the rest of their life?? People learn from their mistakes (hopefully) and it makes them a better person in the long run.
