Star Catcher
Old Farts Party with "Marty"

Hollywood's alta cockers rolled out of bed, took off their slippers, and put on their dancing shoes to celebrate the 90th birthday of a true Hollywood legend -- Ernest Borgnine (1955's Best Actor Oscar-winner for "Marty").

TMZ's cameras caught all the "excitement" in front of trendy Madeo restaurant, where we spotted "Singin' in the Rain" legend Debbie Reynolds (74), "Law & Order" senior Dennis Farina, "Beach Blanket Bingo" star Don Rickles (80), "Mannix" Mike Connors (81), "Scarface" bad boy Robert Loggia (77), "Palm Springs Weekend" star Connie Stevens (68), and in the most random appearance of the night, "La Bamba" star Lou Diamond Phillips.

32. Met Ernest at a Circus Parade in his hometown of Milwaukee. What a gentleman and class act.

This articles author needs to not be like Larry King, and in fact do his homework on the subjects he is writing of.

33. Last time I made a comment it was because of your uncalled judgements on Dakota Fanning's clothing choices (which were age appropriate clothes!). Now you have to pick on an actor because they aged?
TMZ, you could of just mentioned the gathering of wonderful actors for a fellow actor's birthday, but you just had to be crude and disrespectful. Is this how you get your kicks? That is pretty sad.
Oh and I just want to add...
Happy Birthday Ernest Borgnine :)

34. Thus far, every comment is the same -- and we're up to 36 so perhaps TMZ should remove the sound effects and admit they screwed up. One of the reasons I like TMZ is that you show many of these "stars" as egotistical bores who have no clue about the world, and you certainly pick on them as we'd expect (and appreciate). However, there are also times where "just the facts" is the right call. Instead of going for the cheap laugh (which obviously wasn't funny to most of us), much cooler to point to the fact Ernest Borgnine is a gentleman, a class act, an Oscar winner, and somebody who'll be remembered long after the Paris' and Lindsay's of the world have crashed and burned.

Happy Birthday Ernest...and many, many more! :)

37. Get some class TMZ. More people in today's Hollywood should take a lesson or two from these legends. This article was very poor in taste and you should know better. Save the cheapshots for the "stars" that deserve it.

38. Never thought I would say it, but you've been rude and disrespectful to television and movie pioneers. The crop of actotrs, both tv and movie, these days, cannot compare to the characters of yesterday. Ernest is one of the finest actors in the world, and he deserves respect, as does the older generation of actors and actresses. I'm appalled at your shit!

39. Your juvenile "farting" sounds are incredibly insulting. Harvey Levin-- you're not that far removed from all this -- age wise. So truly stupid.

40. My, my--- but are'nt you a**holes funny! Adding fart noise over the video of the great Borgnine!!! Such wit, such flair--- childish, boorish behavior aimed at one of film history's greats all because he dared to live to a healthy, wealthy and wise 90 years of age. Your lack of style and humor befits the low life operation you truely are--- parasites living off the foibles of others, those with talent, success and fame. Some can, others such as yourselves, can only seek to hang on for the ride. Thanks so very much.

41. Happy 90th, Mr. Borgnine...and more power to him and those who helped celebrate his milestone.

42. I just watched this video. What I saw were true legends in the business who were appropriately dressed and gracious to the fans. TMZ, you need to stop worshiping the trash that is populating Hollywood today. Your stories are geared to draw comments from the dregs of our society. How refreshing to see the comments on this thread.

43. HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR THESE CLASSIC ACTORS, as they are the LAST of a great era of excellent movies. If the author of this story took the time from watching "Dumb and Dumber", to watch classic movies (1930-1960s), he/she would have a different and respectful perspective. It's TOO bad that today's society has no real great stars who you can respect and who we have left from the classic generation are treated unkindly. The worse of it all is MEDIA B.S. publications like TMZ who chooses to DISRESPECT Borgnine and classic actors like him by adding "fart" to the title along with the sound effects. SHOW SOME RESPECT, A**HOLES. I'd like to add that the "kindergarden" writer of this disrespectful story is the biggest FART of all. LEARN SOME RESPECT. I DON'T CARE IF YOU PICK ON THE SILLY CELEBRITIES LIKE HILTON, LOHAN AND SPEARS, BUT DON'T PICK ON THE CLASSIC STARS OF THE GOLDEN ERA.

44. Well I'm man enough to admit I laughed. Especially after the first one. I really thought Ol' Ernie let one rip! It was silly but not at all disrespectful. In fact I would much rather spend an evening listening to anecdotes from Mr. Borgnine & Company than spend a second with those insipid dolts that pass for "stars" today. Happy Birthday, Mr. B! Phffffft....oops! Sean B.

45. I must have been crazy to expect a higher standard from your site. Why do the web rags worship only young, perfect (albeit artificial) flesh? Heaven forbid that someone weigh 2 pounds too much, not get implants or the perfect nose job, or succumb to the gravity of aging. I understand that gossip can be the hook but why all the meanness? Why not raise the level of play and talk about the talent, creativity, genius, generosity, good character and positive contributions to film, art, music, entertainment, and the local and global community? There is plenty enough trash. Why not choose to be treasure?
