91. Hey Fiery, I agree that אבור עץ's comments about people on welfare didn't help her argument (although I agree with everything else I can remember her saying).

However, you may not "hate" Jews, but it's hard not to take your comments referring to circumcision and Jesus as an attempt to provoke us, right? And then there was the comment about Jews having "holier than thou" attitudes. You seem to have some level of contempt, otherwise you wouldn't have used such generalizations. Are you backpeddling? Come on man, choose your words more carefully or you will continue to be interpreted in such a way.

Perhaps it could have been funny, but when you couple it with your followup postings ("Jews think they are holier than thou" "Jews killed Jesus") it sort of tainted it. Personally, I love humor that pokes fun at cultural differences, but the context in which it is said significantly impacts the message. I hope that makes sense.

For example, if I made a joke about the Pope, and then followed it up with a serious comment about Catholic priests molesting kids, wouldn't a Catholic take the joke differently because of the followup statement? Now for the record, I don't mean to slam Catholics (I married one! and yes, we made a Cashew together) I was just using it as an example.

Second, when I said that your statement about people on welfare didn’t help your argument, what I meant was that it just flamed the fires which can be counterproductive. I realize I like to rub my prosperity in the faces of the Jew-haters, so I am guilty too. But we both know it works – gets them even more angry since their anger is all about jealousy, which is admittedly extremely fun  . Anyway, I grew up in LA so I know all about the welfare scene and agree with you 100% about who the majority of recipients are (at least as a % of their individual populations). Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I have been visiting this site for a few months now, and frequently see Jew-hate spewed from the mouths of these ignorant people. But not yet have I been able to find one person on this site who is capable of debating me on the subject. Maybe you and I just don’t fit in here. They have tons of reasons not to look like us: our religion and heritage, our values, our prosperity, and it sounds like we are both attractive too! ;)

Seriously (actually I was serious about the comment above too – I hope you don’t take offense if that is your real name, I think it is great), are you referring to me and אבור עץ? If no, please excuse my misunderstanding. If yes, please remember that we didn’t start this thread of mutual love and respect. We were simply responding to the earlier poseurs, I mean posters, who were badmouthing Jews, and hitting them where it hurts. I know two wrongs don’t make a right, but hopefully they have learned something along the way. In particular, the truth about where there ignorance stems from (misperceptions, lies, jealousy) and the fact that not all American Jews are wimpy little Accountants afraid of a fight.

I am trying to tone down my rhetoric too. I am just waiting for an intelligent debate where I don’t have to keep dropping down to their level. At least these postings have made my work breaks much more entertaining. I am ready to give up though, probably to the chagrin of those that started this.
