I think Brandy deserves to be punished but we need to look at this like she a normal everyday person.I feel for this family but we should be realistic in this .Does this family deserve 50 milllion and the family that just lost there family member yesterday get less because they got hit by someone with no money.There should be equality rich or poor.I am sure she didn't set out to hurt anyone.

289. I find it funny how so many people can be blinded. The people suing Brandy are 100% PATHETIC! They are NEVER going to see 50 million from her and I find it funny how so many people are blind and do not see that these pathetic people are using there daughters death as a freaking payday.

I can see Brandy being charged for what happened but at the same time you have to think about it, Brandy was not under the influence of anything and they want to charge her with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter yet every year thousands are killed by drunk drivers , speeders, and people who are driving while having dozens of drugs in there system and most of them walk away with a slap on the wrist like community service or a fine.

The parents of this women heard who Brandy was and that's when the "Cha Ching" popped into there heads. If this was some normal person who say worked daycare worker, for DCF or a teacher do you think they would be suing her? If they did they would be suing her for a couple thousand not millions of dollars...It is just totally pathetic and they should be ashamed.

Face the facts, Brandy will end up with a fine and maybe some community service and the family may get a few thousands dollars. She is never going to see jail or give them anything other then a couple thousand dollars.

Pay Up STFU and go back to school and learn how the hell to spell and how pathetic to sit here and use the N word. Honestly grow the hell up. Brandy is not a murderer , what happened was an accident, you act as if she got out of her vehicle and shot this women..Do not sit here and call people stupid when almost every word in your post is spelled incorrectly and im not 100% sure about this but from what I know Brandy never lived in the "ghetto"..I really suggest you educate yourself before you speak and educate yourself on how many drunk drivers and people under the influence of drugs get behind the wheel and end up killing someone and walk away from it with no punishment other then a fine and some community service.

293. I think people are forgetting the fact that the same accident that occured with brandy sitting in the drivers seat could occur TO YOU. So, lets think about this from a logical stand point. I know some ppl on this forum hate "ni**ers" and some hate "j*s" (I am african american btw) but, put all that aside, even for a moment and look at this issue rationally. Although Brandy was at fault, and perhaps was driving with some sort of negligence, $50 million bucks is absurd. Although the value of human life does not directly translate into $$$. Somebody, somewhere devised a formula for compensating victims in this situation. What is right and true? I for sure dont know and won't even try to say. I do know however that $50 mill sounds like some number some high priced lawyer pulled out of his ass because he wants to be paid. He probably cares nothing for the pain and suffering of those folks...
Just my 2 cents.
Oh, and to all you folks who go about on your tangents and express your hatred of other races, you really just expose your own ignorance. Pay attention to history and you'll notice that there are only a few classes in this world and it really has nothing to do with color or ethnic background. Whether your eyes are slanted or skin is black. To summarize it, there are those who have, and those who have not. And if the US ever hits a situation like we did in the Great Depression, those of you who sling your verbal violence to groups you feel you are superior to will then discover that even within your own set of "people" , you are to them in theirs mind, as the "ni**ers" and other groups are to you in your mind.

294. Come on 50 mil is a bit muchie much for an accident that was really a accident.

Now Lane Garrison on the other hand, should be the recipient of such a suit, since he was deliberately reckless. And since he contributed to minors, and can we say child endangerment ?

I am going to follow the way the justice systems handles BOTH cases and it will be interesting to see how they are handled.

We got two celebs of two different ethnicities, both were in car accidents in Dec 2006 where there were fatalities. It was determined that both were at fault.

Contrasts: one was not paying attention to the road, and the other was indulging in alcohol, drugs, contributing to minors, child endangerment, and more than likely speeding.

I wonder if the justice system will charge him with all the appropriate charges?

The family has a right to sue because Brandywas speeding and did kill someone. But if it were me i would also sue. But i would sue and donate the money. Because like Kel said it is not going to make the family feel better because at the end of the day their daughter is still dead. But at the same time by sueing Brandyit will make her realize that she has done something wrong and i can guarentee that she willnot speed again after losing 50 million dollars. 300. Give Brandy a break. What happened to her happens to a lot of innocent people every year. People who are busy and trying to make a living. Suing for 50 million tells me these people care more for money, than the fact that their daughter is gone. I say Brandy pays for the funeral expenses, pays for a proper memorial for the woman, and serves some community service teaching the importance of driving safety. You do all that , and you have a positive result from something bad. They need to cap these damn wrongful death lawsuits ! It's ridiculous !
