Sarcasm: a sharply ironical taunt, sneering or cutting remark, and
Jest: a piece of good natured ridicule.

Unfortunately not everyone can take things in stride, and instead the guilty party speaks. Like Blondee, I too enjoy some good ol' fashioned sarcasm, and can understand when I'm reading it as well. That's why I frequent the posts, and sometimes why I may post. Don't take life so seriously dude, when you do, you end up missing all the fun.

I own a computer, and have one in front of me for work. BTW, Frank Gehry isn't as highly regarded as a great architect by architects, trust me, I know. He could have found better talent, say; I.M. Pei or a BLACK ARCHITECT;) Now, use those two words in a sentence and laugh at yourself.

32. It just doesn't really make sense to bring it out this far. I really doubt anyone is going to be able to say to what extent Barclays was involved in the slave trade. And it's true it should be looked at in the context of history. I don't see a boycott being made against Fruit of the Loom, or tobacco.

Are you serious? Let history rest? Let me pock your feeble arguement in a few sentences. Most of the racist white people in the 60's who kept non-whites from drinking from their water fountains, going to their schools, eating at the same restaurants, etc...were not born when slavery was a "world business." Unfortunately, they continued the practice of racism and hate that is still practiced today! Do you think it's completely coincidence that whites make up the majority of the U.S. population but more non-whites are in jail? Do you think it's coincidence that the majority of U.S. corporations are headed by white males? Geezzz, white women are just getting their shot because of bigotry initiated by the white male. Point being; white males benefit from what has happened in the past and always will and you expect non-whites to roll over and forget! Yeah right!

How did this turn so personal? none of us are reaping any of the benefits behind Jay, the bank etc...I do think that some of you on here with the racist comments (negros ,crackers, bitches etc.) are just playing into the typical sterotype. It is unfortunate that racism is still alive but, instead of people making a change in there own lives you tend to find it convienent to bash others to make your lonely selves feel better. The largest banks and oldest corporations are run by white people because they were started during slavery and were built on the backs of slaves. Like I said, blacks and whites were not permitted to socialize until you got off the boat; let alone get loans from banks, or hold executive positions in corporations. 12% is a current population statistic - throwing out stats out of context is stupid!
