Lindsay Opts Out of "No Importance"

In the wake of harsh criticism that Lindsay Lohan has not been taking her recovery seriously, TMZ has learned that Lindsay has decided not to star in the upcoming "A Woman of No Importance" so she can focus on getting better.

Lohan's publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, tells TMZ that Lindsay is putting herself first and "decided not to push herself." Lohan, says Sloane, will be taking a few more months of downtime before she embarks on the press tour for the upcoming "Georgia Rule."

"Importance" is set to star Annette Bening. This is the second time Lohan has missed on an opportunity to work with the Oscar-nominated actress. Bening was originally cast as Lilo's mother in the hit "Freaky Friday," but had to bow out.

Lindsay is still slated for "The Best Time of Our Lives," shooting with Keira Knightley in London this spring.

33. If she was so concerned on her recovery she would have opted out of her current movie. This is the important time. Even on one of the fan sites for her it was stated at one time she was uncomfortable with the British accent she was going to do. I found this interesting considering when she was younger and sober she did it on "Parent Trap" movie.
It is also interesting this is the second movie she has opted out that has Annette Benning in.

37. Who cares what Paris said or didn't say when she was partying years ago as a kid.The fact is that she is friends with many different people in the industry. P.Diddy is a family friend and so are others. Gays dore her. She gets along well with everyone and she is very good to work with.

40. I like lindsay as an actress/singer but as a person I dont think too much of her. If you ask me...Her and her mother both are pathelogical liars. I dont believe anything that comes out of their mouths. Lindsay says in just about all her interviews that she doesnt party and just goes out to dance which infact people have seen her numerous times drinking when no one is watching and is now trying to stay in rehab for "alcoholism". She lies about the men she's seeing, when infact you see pictures of her kissing these guys and so on. I mean she doesnt owe any of us anything really. But she shouldn't lie if people around her are going to tell the truth for her or better yet, the pics. When she got skinny she lied about taking drugs which infact she does and coke is one of them. She should just say she chooses not to dicuss it. She's one of the biggest liars out of most celebs. And what is it with all these celebs doing coke? Where the hell do they get the stuff? lmao

43. Will everyone please back off of Lindsey. She is not perfect, but she is also very scattered and confused right. Recovery is hard enough without the microscopic society and press micro-managing the process.

She has some hard work in front of her (and it's not in the movies) and she needs complete dedication and focus to understanding the real reasons she wants to be "blotto" all the time...(core issue work at the shrinks call it).

What about the other people who are scared off by the media from going to an anonymous program???? The one's who don't want to be "outed"??????

The media has already "outed" several alternative lifestyle people (gay) this year before they were ready....

45. Good Riddance Lindsay. Thank God she "quit"/got fired. I'm a huge fan of the play "A Woman of No Importance" and she would have completely blown it. And furthermore, as someone who is Lindsay's age, could all you people who are talking about "oh we were all young and stupid once" please shut the f*** up? Plenty of young people do not f*** up their lives with drugs and too much sex. And what the f*** was with her whole "I've been in AA for a year and sober for a week?" The way she talked about it, it was just so obvious that she wasn't taking it seriously. And you know what, her family background means sh*t. I lost my grandmother to alcoholism, and my mom and her siblings did everything they could to help her, but she was too damn selfish. Stop thinking about yourself Lindsay, and think about the people whose lives your issues are interfering with. And one more thing, remember when the other patients in her rehab complained that she was treating the place like a hotel, and this Zelnik whines, "they don't know what she's going through". Umm, THEY ARE ALSO IN REHAB, and they probably don't have undeserved millions of dollars.
