PETA: "Anna was a friend to animals"

Anna Nicole posed as Marilyn Monroe in PETA's "Gentlemen Prefer Fur-Free Blondes" campaign. The animal rights organization issued this statement:
Anna Nicole Smith's Peta AD
"She was a great friend to animals and used every opportunity to speak out against senseless cruelty. We always thought Anna Nicole was a perfect fit for PETA because, just like us, she not only hated cruelty to animals and loved her dogs but also couldn't be ignored, and no matter what people thought of her, they always had an opinion, one way or another. ... It is a tragedy when anyone passes away before their time, but with Anna Nicole, animals have lost a true hero and PETA has lost a good friend. We will miss her."

1. I am so sorry and saddened. No one, absolutely no one should have to endure the pain that Anna has over the years. My heart goes out to all of her family and friends.
God bless her sweet innocent daughter and I am certain that this little girl will grow into a beautiful, smart young lady! She will keep Anna alive in all of our lives.

3. Loved Anna Nicole. Very very very sad. She was just beautiful & so funny & as true as you can get. May she find peace with her beloved son Daniel. Much sympathy sent to her family & friends.

Every person ( you include) is a little messed up one way or another. It's the nature of things. Anna Nicole had a rough life. She lost her son, ans went through crisis after crisis. Sure she wasn't a saint, but until we can walk in someone else's shoes we should not judge her.

10. Well #4 Mr. Holier than thou... she brought most of that stuff on herself. Everything she did was to get attention, including these ads. She was a manipulative, conniving person. Knew exactly what she was doing. And she was also smart enough to know what drug abuse can do to a person.

12. I can't believe how people are singing ANS praise and glory after she dies, even her worst enemies (the Marshall), but all the while she walked the world of living - she was scrutinized in every way. SAD!
