Anna Nicole posed as Marilyn Monroe in PETA's "Gentlemen Prefer Fur-Free Blondes" campaign. The animal rights organization issued this statement:

"She was a great friend to animals and used every opportunity to speak out against senseless cruelty. We always thought Anna Nicole was a perfect fit for PETA because, just like us, she not only hated cruelty to animals and loved her dogs but also couldn't be ignored, and no matter what people thought of her, they always had an opinion, one way or another. ... It is a tragedy when anyone passes away before their time, but with Anna Nicole, animals have lost a true hero and PETA has lost a good friend. We will miss her."

18. so she had her problems....who does'nt....the only difference is the rest of the world new about her problems because she's a celebrity....... crazy or not...shes still a human being....Its still sad that she died so early in life....leaving behind not only family and friends but a baby not even 6 months old. and that....is sad.

I hope she rests in peace.

19. this is a woman that truley truely suffered in her life..and made the best of it..im very passionate about these things, never speak ill of the dead..no matter how nasty this person may have been in life..she was scruitnized because she was a celeb..those people have what color thier sh*t is posted on the internet..so please people...everyone deserves a little respect in death...its a sad thing to happen to anyone

21. #7. Anytime something happens to us that is not good, we bring it on ourselves. (not always) Some things just happen. But who are you to pass judgement? You don't even know what the reason was for her passing. They have not said. If it was drugs, it happened. There is nothing you can do about it. You are not perfect, so stop trying to live in a perfect world. There is no perfect world. You must be miserable yourself or you wouldn't be passing judgement like that. God Bless her family. 23. I was never a big fan of Anna Nicole Smith, but when I found out she died today it made me very, very sad. This is a tragic story. Just horrible. I feel so sorry for her baby girl. Yeah, she was weirder than hell, but it's still tragic. The whole thing is just awful.

You say Anna Nicole brought everything on herself. So are you saying that she was responsible for her son's death? That she brought that one on herself? Personally, I always thought she was crazy and ditzy and dumb, but I do feel for her and her family given the events of the last few months. To go from having a baby to losing a son days later...I cannot imagine the grief. Nobody is making her out to be saint. They are just being respectful of the fact that a public person who lived a very tragic life has died. What's the matter with that?

27. I just wanna say to those who can't seem to have a heart for the dead, i hope when you die you will be judged by God and shown how ignorant you are and heartless. No matter how crazy or wierd Anna was she was a mother and a human just like everyone else. She deserves the PEACE and LOVE just as you would want.

My prayers go to Anna's adorable daughter and family

30. I'm so saddened over the death of Anna. She was an amazing woman in a very unique way. May she be in the arms of her beautiful best friend and son, Daniel, for all eternity. God Bless you Anna. You will be missed.
