Anna's Mom: "Oh yeah, it'll get ugly"

The mother of the late Anna Nicole Smith predicted that the fight over her granddaughter Dannielynn would get "ugly," and dismissed Anna Nicole's rags-to-riches self-portrayal as mere myth-making.

In an interview on "Good Morning America," a disconsolate, almost disgusted Virgie Arthur described Anna Nicole as "wild and crazy," and reiterated that she'd warned her daughter to stop using drugs. She added that she "really sincerely" worries about five-month-old Dannielynn, and wants her to be with her father -- whoever that might be. When asked about the pending paternity battle, Arthur agreed that it would get ugly.

Curiously, Arthur also took the opportunity to debunk the myth that Anna Nicole's rise to fame was a classic rags-to-riches tale. "Why do you tell people stuff like that?" Arthur said she asked Anna Nicole. "I'll do whatever it takes," replied Anna Nicole. "If my name's out there, I make money."

61. Anna's family is disgusting white trash. Can people leave her alone now? She is dead. We have humiliated her and brought her down enough. Is everyone happy now? Her mother should be ashamed of herself. But she nothing but piece of useless trash. We should all be ashamed of ourselves. This woman was taken advantage of because she was made money. 62. I can't believe she is doing this. She is a horrible person for talking about her dead daughter like that. Also shame on the tv station for putting her on there. They knew how her mother was and they put her on there anyways. All it was for both the tv station and that women was publicity. By the station putting that women on their show neither one of them are showing her any respect. They are indecent and inhuman.

64. As a mother of a child that has struggled with drugs/alcohol abuse, I am not sure why I do not have sympathy for this woman? I personally think she was a uncaring mother, gut feeling and I cannot say but if it were my daughter I just could not give any interviews, period. I would be isolating myself as much as I could from the public, grieving has a face and I don't see it here.

Anna was a sad woman, constantly drugged up, could not get over her son's death...I mean he DIED 2 ft from her...could YOU get over it ? and next was dealing with Paternity tests.....I hope ALL of the scumbags ( drug pushers, Dr's, her so called "friends" ) feel some sort of guilt today !.... I mean even Entertainment Tonight was on last night "claiming" .."we have the FINAL interwiew with Anna, etc...." and it was soooo clear she was on something ! WHY would they show that, and feel good about it....maybe if the media and Paparazzi would back off a little, stuff like this wouldn't happen.....

just a very sad & tragic tale......

I hope Larry gets custody of the baby asap !

69. Oh, my God! I don't understand this. This woman looks like - Oh, I am sad, but not surprised. Isn't she supposed to be devastated and grieving over her dead child?!! What a mother she is! I know women who lost their children and they became almost crazy and this woman feels comfortable enough to talk on TV the next day? I don't understand how is this possible?

70. How terrible to jump on the sad death of your daughter to spew more bitterness and hatred. I can only guess how this must have affected Anna and know that it could only make any depression worse. I cannot imagine this woman, who is/was Anna's "mother", could get custody of a sweet tiny baby girl. Can we imagine if and why Anna kept the distance for years? How shameful to have said all those things before her daughter died. What happened to saying positive things and being in their corner. How sad I am that Anna is dead and say she sure was not the first one to strip; to marry an older wealthy man; to pose for Playboy; etc.

It seems that she hated her daughter, instead of trying to make things better for her grand daugher, she is just out to get her fame and forget she ever had a daughter or even has a grand daugher. if it was me, I would fight until the end of time until I get my GRAND DAUGHTER with me!! How could she say that the little baby should stay with her father whom ever that is!! That is just plain EVIL and WICKED. She is a horrible mother!!! 73. That woman is not a mother. How sad for Anna....She's mentioning thing's about Anna that doesn't need said and she couldn't think of one good thing to say about her daughter. Anna did drug's but that shouldn't give anyone a reason to bring those sort of memories up now that she is not with us. We should, and especially her mother & sister should be talking about all the good memories and good thing's about there daughter. Not only did she not speak good thing's about Anna but I did not see one tear. Anna's mother digust's me is all I can say about her. She's not a mother! She's a horrible, horrible human being. I wouldn't allow this woman to be around Dannielynn.
