Police: No Illegal Drugs Found in Anna's Room

Only prescription -- and not illegal drugs -- were found during an investigation of Anna Nicole Smith's room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel, this according to Seminole Police Chief Charlie Tiger.

At a press conference outside the Broward County Medical Examiner's office, Tiger revealed that "No evidence has been revealed to suggest that a crime has occurred," and that sworn statements were taken from everyone involved.

While authorities were unable to identify an official cause of death, Broward County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Joshua Perper suggested that the death might be due to either natural causes, medication, or a combination of natural causes and medication.

Perper was able to rule out several speculated causes of death, such as blunt force trauma, gunshot wounds or asphyxia, meaning she did not suffocate to death on her own vomit.

Perper revealed that a small amount of blood was found in Anna's stomach, which he says is a result of the terminal shock Smith experienced before she died. He also said that no pills or tablets were found in her stomach.

Perper also acknowledged the need for Anna's DNA (due to the ongoing paternity dispute) and said a "large sample" was taken.

According to Perper, an official cause of death would be determined in 3 to 5 weeks.

61. Thank God there were no illegal drugs. She died of a broken heart. Please let her have some dignity in death. My prayers for the people who loved her and her precious baby.

63. apparently a private doc. was flown in from somewhere to examine her? and no one knows where this guy is. her very own dr. feelgood perhaps? and i wish cnn would stop comparing her to marilyn monroe. just because someone imitates their favorite celebrity does NOT mean their lives are the same. i've never seen footage of marilyn wasted and trying to expose herself with lipstick smeared all over her face and the only pic i've ever seen of marilyn sprawled anywhere face down was the one the coroner took of her on her bed. when she was found dead.

64. The ONLY person to really feel sorry for is that precious baby...I don't think ANS truely loved her at all.....what a shame and expected to not know who the father is. And I seriously doubt that either of the 2 men claiming to be the father will love her and want what is best for her...they each probably just want any inheritance (if any) and if it turns out the there is none, poof they will desert her. What a shame for an innocent baby. ANS was so self-centered and self-absorbed. Of course the cause of death is drug related...have you ever seen her sober/straight???get a grip all you ANS supporters!!!!!

65. You can argue the legal/illegal drug possession (prescripts being legal) issue all you want, but the fact of the matter still remains: no drugs were found in her STOMACH.

68. Everyone is wondering if Stern killed Anna and her son. My question is why would he? Not saying he didn't, but hasn't he been with her forever. Why now? What purpose would that serve since she hasn't even been awarded that money yet?

70. My heart went out to his woman with the loss of her beloved son. It was clear the love and devotion she had and the deep pain she has been in since his death. Howard has always been there for her and I think everyone is jumping to conclusions - in my opinion, Howard has been good for her and they were trying to make a good life together with the baby. I'm not sure if he is the father but Anna wanted him to be so at the least we can respect her wishes. The truth will come out on this issue but in the meantime, have a little compassion for Howard. We don't know what went on behind closed doors. I hope that Anna can find Daniel and have the peace that eluded her here on earth. God Bless.

71. Fentanyl lillipops are used to treat pain (sometimes in children) along woth the other drugs wich i stated but my post was erased oxycotin and liquid morphine can produce the same symptoms that Vickie Lynn has been said to have.

Also have became very popular in the should we say elite and famous people of the world.

72. Another example of how Hollywood can ruin lives, especially some one like her. Not much talent and drugs. Who in the heck was supporting her anyway and funding her appeals?

HKS wouldn't have helped himself one iota by killing her. That's dopey. With her gone the baby will go either to the real father or a family member, I guess.

Also, if there is any money from the Marshalls it will most likely be held in trust til Dannilyn is 18 and comes into it legally---and managed by someone not a family member ---- not given over to HKS or Birkhead or whoever...

So I doubt if anyone murdered her.

No matter what everyone thinks of Stern.....the important thing that some are forgetting is that Anna LOVED this guy....have we forgot what it was like when people told all of us at one time someone was not good for us....it was HER life, her LOVE and thats it....she was happy with him....lets wait till ALL test come back then see what and if whom was the cause of death....In about 14 years or so when that baby is old enough to read all about her mother can you imagine the mess she's going to read??? this is going to be a nightmare for her...shes the one I feel sorry for now....Bless The Child...

i totally couldn't stop looking at the lump either. i was totally mesmerized! it was speaking to me. didn't hear a word of the press conference. i just heard the lump saying 'touch me, feel my bulbous smooth skin and watch how the light shines off of me. and don't listen to this guy, stern did it.' it was weird.
