67. He loses respect by dating a woman who is so incredibly dim. If Mayer has something, anything in common with Simpson, one must ask how shallow he must be? How superficial? By choosing to be seen and photographed with Simpson, he loses credibility as an artist. He has reduced himself to celebrity / pop star. More money, definitely - but also, no sincere respect from true fans and peers.

69. I kind of feel sorry for Jessica. I do think that while she might not be completely stupid, she's very naive. Why would he not take her to the Grammy's with him, but meet her at a party afterwards? Doesn't that just scream, " I don't want you to ruin my image by people thinking we're seriously involved, but I'll do you." ? She's not more than a toy to him.

72. I have to say I don't like Jessica Simpson as a singer but I don't know her as a person. I do like and respect John Mayer as a singer and don't know him as a person. They do look like a great couple though. I'm not sure it will last. It never does with these celebrities. Jessica and Nick made a great couple but that didn't last. I think it's because she cheated on him and felt really bad about it but refused to tell him or made it look like he was the one who was wrong when it was actually her. Whose to say she won't ruin the relationship with John and ruin yet another relationship of hers. She'll break John's heart just like she probably broke Nick Lachey's heart.
