Mayer Puts the Moves on Simpson

Jessica Simpson and John Mayer did not walk the red carpet together, but they did get up close and personal at the Sony/BMG Grammy after-party.

According to E!'s Marc Malkin, the new couple were seen kissing on the cheek, with John stroking Jess' back as he serenaded her with the '80s hit "Wishing Well" by Terence Trent D'Arby.

During the arrivals, Mayer evaded Ryan Seacrest's questions about their relationship by answering in Japanese. His comments translated to: "She is very beautiful and you are the last to know." Sayonara, Seacrest!

Although the duo seem to be getting hot and top-heavy, no word on if Mayer took home more than his two Grammys last night.

62. At first I was kinda shocked to see them together, but I think they look cute together. Jessica is a beautiful girl, and I think you people should stop looking at the negative all the time, and give them the benefit of the doubt. I don't really know why I am commenting on this because I really don't care. Positive vibe is so much more pleasant. Why rip people apart that really shouldn't be. One word for you people Jealous!

67. laughing at all the comments, some however have substance. amazing we are what makes these people rich and famous. following and dabbling in their business, each having our own opinions. i've never cared for any of simpsons talent or her cosmetics. nick is a good guy from cincy and people he knew growing up still say he's a standup guy and down to earth and continue to like him. john has the most talent by far and it will stand long after the other two age. so nick can always find his way home, john can sing his way home and simpson will have her father to show her the way home,

73. He loses respect by dating a woman who is so incredibly dim. If Mayer has something, anything in common with Simpson, one must ask how shallow he must be? How superficial? By choosing to be seen and photographed with Simpson, he loses credibility as an artist. He has reduced himself to celebrity / pop star. More money, definitely - but also, no sincere respect from true fans and peers.

How many times will a Grammy Award winner thank the man in the sky?
Is it ever about talent? Rarely. Is it ever about money? Always.
