Birkhead: I Tried to Save Anna Nicole

Larry Birkhead, who claims to be Anna Nicole Smith's real baby daddy, says he tried to save Anna Nicole from the ravages of drug addiction, and that seeing the ultrasound of his baby with Smith was "one of the happiest moments of my life." But Birkhead won't say anything about his last meeting with Anna Nicole -- because it could "come back to haunt" him later, he thinks.

In an interview with the New York Daily News, Birkhead claims that he tried to force Anna Nicole to kick her drug habits after she got pregnant with Dannielynn, but that his efforts just got him "pushed to the side," and that he had no control over what she did after that. Before that, however, Birkhead says that he and Anna Nicole shopped for baby clothes together and that Smith "made [him] sing to the baby at night."

Birkhead, according to the Daily News, wouldn't talk about his last meeting with Anna Nicole. He did admit to crying when he saw the birth certificate and saw Howard K. Stern's name on it, saying, "I don't know if I'm a dad or a sucker," according to a family member.

Ivanka – Paris Bitchfight Brews

Ivanka Trump is slamming rival heiress Paris Hilton, saying that she works "13-hour days" for her riches, unlike "party kid" Hilton -- and doesn't want to be compared to the lodging heiress anymore. The Donald's daughter (seen here partying with Paris last summer) reportedly told the London Express (via MSNBC's Jeanette Walls) that she and Hilton are "totally different individuals ... I've never had a sense of entitlement." What's more, says Ivanka, "If I were to go off the rails ... I would not be able to afford my lifestyle." Ivanka also takes pains to point out that she had to buy her own house (from her father, of course), and that she has a mortgage. It is unclear whether Ms. Hilton has a mortgage as well, and she hasn't shot back as yet.

Paula Made to Look Less Lush-y on "Idol"

The producers of "American Idol" are doing everything they can to make Paula Abdul appear less loopy – or so they claim. As realitytvmagazine.com reports, the "Idol" producers are editing the show with the knowledge that Paula is being watched very carefully by viewers – to see if she'll betray any signs of being sauced. As executive producer Nigel Lythgoe put it, "We look when we're editing the show nowadays and say, 'Hey are people gong to think she's drunk for doing that?' We try and take that into account." Lythgoe adds that "it's very difficult" dealing with the Paula situation now that people have gotten it into their heads that Abdul is either boozing or popping pills, even though Paula has vigorously denied doing either.

Diddy Goes Off on Naomi

Diddy may want to consider protective headgear after he "angrily confronted" infamously projectile-prone Naomi Campbell at a Grammy after-party, according to Ben Widdicombe of the Daily News. According to Widdicombe's spy, "Diddy just started screaming at her when he saw her. No one could believe it. He was screaming obscenities at her" and at actor Terrence Howard, who was with her. Oddly, however, Naomi "played it totally cool." There's no specific reason for the origins of the tirade, except that Diddy's baby mama hates her.

Beyonce Knowles may have left Jennifer Hudson off of a guest list for a party she threw in L.A. after the Grammys, says Ben Widdicombe. Oscar nominee Kate Winslet is threatening to sue a British magazine over allegations that she's been seeing a diet specialist in L.A., says People. Winslet says the report is "completely untrue" and that she "never will" go to a diet doctor. ... The buzz is building that Jennifer Lopez will be the centerpiece of an episode of "Entourage" in the new season, says E! Online. Of course, the producers haven't actually approached J.Lo for the role, so it's not quite a done deal.

32. I have to disagree with most people who believe Birkhead is the father. I found it very tacky that he demanded an emergency DNA test before her body was even cold, and he really lost points when he teamed up with Anna's mother. Anna's mother didn't raise her; her aunt did & she was estranged from her family long before Stern entered the picture.

And Diddy needs to let his baby momma fight her own battles. He was already denied entry to a post Golden Globes party and, if he keeps it up, he'll be left out again come Oscar time.

34. First off it does not matter what type of person Anna Nicole Smith was. She has passed on and we as moral people should respect the ones that has passed on. It is not right to talk bad of someone who can not defend themeselves. ANS was a human being before anything. WE ALL HAVE FAULTS and we would not want anyone dissing us as some of you have her. I do believe that her death is a mystery as the one of her son. I do believe that Stern should be a suspect in both deaths. I never really trust him. It is really is sad the media as well as others are looking at the bad of this worman. We all have a good side and so does she. The main focus should be on the daughter she left behind and the best interest of her instead of dissing her mother.

35. Howard Stern is what's known as an enabler. I'm sure he and Anna knew full well that her son OD'd on the drugs he got from them, that would explain her guilt and depression. They might not have actually given him the drugs but he probably saw them in the fridge and figured hey why not. I'll bet they made a stop at the house and maybe Howard didn't even know what he did until it was too late. It's a shame Howard didn't get Anna into a hosptal instead of the hotel bar. If she had a nurse with her why the heck wasn't the nurse doing her job? Are they looking into the background of the nurse and the body guard!! If she was so sick why did Howard leave her alone if he knew how difficult she was to control? That baby needs a good solid family to adopt her. I'll bet Donald Trump could do a good job!!!!

38. Ivanka has a mortgage that she pays with daddy's cash....puhlease...she's never earned a dollar at a real job ever...all her riches are from her parents. She may be better behaved than Paris...but she hasnt made it on her own by any stretch of anyones imagination. She is a socialite. She needs to cover that botched boob job til the 6 months are up and she can have it fixed.

39. I have one thing to say.... Larry Birkhead desperately needs to get that uni-brow thing taken care of... how about a day at the spa Larry? Go get that caterpillar waxed, will you???? Oh and for the record, I think Larry is Anna's baby daddy.... Once that is discovered he will get full custody and Howard K. Stern will more likely than not choose to sleep with the worms. He is barely hanging on by a thread as it is.

42. 1: Ivanka dont waste your time differentiating yoursel from paris, the difference is obvious, Paris even barely went through high school, certianly the Trump family adn Hilton families have differing values in raising children..the outcome is that we have a beatiful talented intelligent young Ivanka and a barely toleranted publicity whore in all sense of the word.

44. Well, im a Beyonce fan, but I do see that as possible. Beyonce doesn't want to be overshadowed but direct competition. Jennifer's presence would deflect attention away from herself if they were in the same place. Notice that the buzz wasn't on Beyonce at the Grammy's like it usually is at awards shows. B you are my girl, but your getting "overexposed." She became big so fast as a solo artist. I even get tired of seeing you sometimes , even though you look good and all. We need some other people to shine and get some of that spotlight for now. After this tour you should take a break, like Mariah, Britney, J-Lo, etc did. Relax and spend some of that boatload of money that you've made.

45. Anybody else find it ironic that the Hilton Empire was started by cheap motels?

I think that Larry B wasn't trying to be tacky, it's just that may have been his one shot to get the DNA for testing. Who knows? But they better test that baby quick, and not figure out who's her "old man" when she's all grown up.
