51. Personally I think that ANS died from some sort of infectiion caused by her recent plastic surgery.However if she died from a lethal mix of med/drugs, I don't feel like HKS is to blame. Anyone who knows an addict (no matter the addiction) also knows that you can't MAKE them get help. An addict has to want help. You can spend all your money on rehab, therapy, ...whatever, it doesnt matter. If they dont want to kick the addiction it WONT work, and they will do whatever they have to do in order to get the drugs (or whatever it is they crave). You cant blame anyone but the addict.

We are writing to express our strong objections to your distribution of highly misleading and completely inaccurate information regarding pregnant women and methadone treatment. In a letter date February 22, 2002, you state, in part:

"We are currently working with several methadone clinics that make our offer known, and available, to the women and men who come through their program. I'm sure one thing most can agree on is that it is important for those using methadone or other drugs to refrain from getting pregnant."

We most certainly do not agree. Your statement, suggesting that it is dangerous for a woman who is receiving clinically prescribed methadone treatment to become pregnant, is simply wrong. Methadone is a highly effective treatment for all opiate dependent patients and, most specifically, for women - both before and after they may become pregnant. In fact, methadone treatment during pregnancy has not been associated with congenital abnormalities or fetal demise. In those cases where neonatal withdrawal symptoms occur (and they frequently do not), these symptoms can be treated readily, with no evidence of any adverse impact on physical or cognitive development. In short, there is simply no medical basis for your suggestion that methadone patients should "refrain from getting pregnant."

For over 30 years, in countries throughout the world, methadone maintenance treatment (MMT) has been shown to substantially reduce illegal opiate use and the crime, illness, suffering, and death with which it is associated. The benefits have been shown to accrue, not only to the individual patient, but to his/her family and the community, as well. The most credible and objective governmental and non-governmental organizations in America and abroad have recognized these positive results with MMT. For example, the US Department of Health and Human Services joins the scientific community in recognizing that MMT greatly benefits the patients as well as the general community. It is specifically recommended for pregnant and breast-feeding patients, which further demonstrates the strong medical consensus supporting methadone treatment, both in general and during pregnancy.

Unfortunately, despite methadone treatment's many benefits, it is available to fewer than 20% of the people who most need it. Women, in particular, face numerous barriers to obtaining this important medical intervention. Your letter and activities, which spread false information and stigmatize current and future mothers who receive this treatment, will make it even more difficult for women who need methadone treatment to receive it.

We therefore urge you to withdraw this letter immediately and to advise each of those individuals and clinics who received it that it was based on misinformation. Furthermore, it is essential that you publicly repudiate the inaccurate message you conveyed on your organization's website and in other public and media context. Not to do so would be irresponsible and a great disservice to those whose interests you claim to have at heart.

57. Does anyone remember that Laurie Payne said that Anna did nothing for herself and that she was told when to give Meds to her. Howard was the one in charge of that when she was with him. Maybe he did not force them down her throat but he could have gave her more and more when ever he wanted.

The B12 injections does anyone believe they were used when Anna had to appear in court so sh e would not appear stoned. Then when the important stuff was over she would be given her other drugs to keep her high and out of the the know as to what was going on.

58. Great reporting TMZ - Keep it coming!!! Unbelievable how this story unfolds - not surprising that ANS had some drug issues - it seemed odd when I watched the interview with Rita Cosby and she had two guests on her show who claimed to be both confidants and friends of ANS and HKS - their testimonials tried to show them as a very loving, ordinary couple with no untoward behavior of any sort in the Bahamas and yet, look at all the bits and pieces of interesting fluff coming from out of the woodwork - when I watched that interview last night on MSNBC, it seemed very contrived and well rehearsed imo - maybe I'm just paranoid but come on two young people, one age 20 and the other 39 just suddenly dropped dead for no apparent reason doesn't make sense at all. It was also suggested she died of a broken heart, on Nancy Grace, well that is just plain ridiculous. Yes, she was heartbroken over the loss of her son but she definitely didn't die from it.

Now with the new revelation of prescription drugs being sent out to ANS makes a lot of sense!!! Where was honorable HKS when all of this was taking place? ANS is a loose cannon, by no definition but what does that say about HKS and his character? This man is a lawyer by profession, he is supposed to look after all her legal affairs and yet all her legal problems are surfacing all over the place!! Either he is completely incompetent, or complicit in the entire affair!!! Ironically in this entire mess, there are two dead people on his hands along with all the legal mess and that tells me a lot, where there is smoke, there is bound to be a fire!!!

What really is creepy yet unclear to me is that days or hours before she died, she was feverishly ill, why wasn't she taken to the hospital then? Why was she alone in the hotel room?? And worst of all, why did she leave a five mth old baby in the Bahamas while she went shopping for a yacht?? So many, many questions........all of this really reeks of something very fowl in the entire setup!!
