Nicole RichieNicole Richie has pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence.

16. Why does a girl as beautiful as her have to go out and act like a stupid ass idiot... Seriously, this girl is hot as hell (when she has meat on her bones). We all know she's pretty intelligent and the dumb ditz thing is a stupid act that is getting old... she has the looks, money, nice home, a cool dad... Apparently she never had a good friend or they'd smack the crap out of her. What the hell is wrong with this over-privileged monkey???

19. In light of many somewhat connected incidents over the past year, something just dawned on me. In some cities, especially L.A., judges often impose so-called "gang injunctions" wherein certain individuals who have run afoul of the law are barred from associating with other individuals who are known associates of gangs who engage in illegal activities. Often a court will also bar the individual from certain places so as to remove them from the nexus of temptation. While this would appear to violate the U.S. Constitution the Federal courts have upheld these measures to curb crime.

I think such restraints should be imposed on this group of celebrities that seems to always flock together. Either act like a proper citizen should, or be forbidden to hang out together anywhere in the state and be BARRED/BLACKLISTED from the Sunset Strip and Cahuenga Corridor.

Why should the West side be any different from South L.A.?

As to why NR entered a plea of not guilty, she is certainly trying to avoid ANY jail time and keep her record as clean as possible (remember that Cali has a 3 strike rule in place). She has a superior attorney with a proven track record. As with most things in life, when it comes to legal services, you really do get what you pay for. As to her comments on site at the time of arrest, I assume that he will be able to at least challenge some of it as inadmissible hearsay under the California Rules of Evidence, or otherwise taint the statements as a matter of civil rights under the law of criminal procedure.

Personally though, if I ever represented her or any other person in a criminal case where any jail time is even remotely possible, her skinny ass will be in the court room, in a respectable dress, and she'll stand up properly before the judge and enter her plea. Not showing up, even though it is not required in order to enter a plea, just sets the wrong tone from the get go. I'm a real stickler on this point. If the judge hear has heard the same stories that I have (that NR is camped out in Malibu for an extended leisure weekend - where she and associates were seen at the local market buying large amounts of beer) I might make a mental note regarding her trial that would be in her best interests.

Anyway, I'm just rambling on at this point.

Bottom line: Quality legal representation = suspended sentence/2 years probation on condition of completion of drug program and 80+ hours community service.

20. How hollywood. Imagine this; you're caught driving the wrong way on the freeway (yes, THE WRONG WAY ON THE FREEWAY), putting everyone on the freeway in harms way. You get pulled over, admit you've taken drugs & smoked dope; it's caught on the cops on-dash camera. Now, since you've admitted it on tape, doesn't it make sense to go to court, be accountable for your actions, not waste the court's time & do the right thing?

Us responsible people (who populate planet earth) do this very thing (and do so daily). But, when you're raised as a Beverly Hills little rich girl like this creep, accountability mean nothing. So, even after she told the arresting officer that she was stoned, she has the unmitigated gall to instruct her attorney to plead her "Not Guilty" & waste everyone's time. I guess she learned that one from OJ, who she knows & hangs out with (SCUM HANGS WITH SCUM).

This little rich bitch represents EVERYTHING that's wrong with our ridiculous celebrity based culture. Celebrity should be a serious responsibility, not a dodge or way to "get away with things". For her, however, that's not possible; she has no values, and has done nothing to be famous for, with the exception being a mistake of birth, and hanging out with other little rich bitches. She's just as worthless & disgusting a human being as that herpes ridden piece of white trash, Parasite Hilton. I hope she's found guilty, and the Judge, realizing the kind of non-accountable & irresponsible person she is, throws the book at her. Let's hope jail time is included; a stint in county would straighten up "little miss beverly hills" real fast...

21. #17 - You're an idiot. Who gives a flying f*** in space what she looks like; what the hell does that have to do with her driving? I don't care if she's cute & cuddly, or 250lbs of flab. SHE WAS DRIVING THE WRONG WAY ON THE FREEWAY AFTER TAKING DRUGS & SMOKING DOPE!!!! SHE DIDN'T JUST ACCIDENTLY TAKE THE WRONG ENTRANCE; SHE WAS STONED & COULDN'T TELL AN OFFRAMP FROM AN ONRAMP, YOU MORON!!! SHE PUT EVERY CAR ON THE FREEWAY IN JEOPARDY; SHE COULD HAVE KILLED INNOCENT PEOPLE!!! AM I GETTING THROUGH TO YOU????

Jesus, some people. Wake up, #17; be happy she didn't run your ass over with her DUI driving.

23. Hi Poster #20 ginagatewood,

I was looking at the big picture, not just the law part. If you knew me, then you would know that I agree that she should have to pay the debt, for making a bad choice (personally, I am always confused as to why people plead not guilty when the evidence states otherwise, but I think it might be a lawyer thing so both sides meet halfway?).

In post #18 I wrote:
"accepting that you screwed up is the first step to fixing your life" and by this I mean ADMITTING your err, not hiding from it or blaming someone else. That is part of rebuilding!

My goal is to reeducate and empower young women to have the courage to NOT make FUTURE poor choices; and to begin rebuilding their lives in a positive light.

Guess caring about the generations behind me makes me a bleeding heart and I will accept your opinion of me, because I don't want the cycle to continue. I want everyone to see a future and not get lost in a fog of drugs and stupid choices that hurt them personally or the world that surrounds them. It's hard for me to hurl rocks at the vulnerable.

Sorry that I offend you.

24. Another celebrity that will inevitably get off the hook. Why is it that Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton are so looked at by the public? I mean come on, they are nobody. Their Daddys have mega bucks and what have they ever done to be recognized besides partying and having a stupid reality show? It absolutely disgusts me that these people are so watched and put on a pedestal like they are someone of merit when all they are are spoiled rotten little rich bitches!
