TMZ has learned a gaggle of paparazzi just took off by helicopter from the Santa Monica airport, headed for Malibu. Their target: Britney Spears in rehab.
Spears checked into the ritzy Promises treatment center in Malibu today. We're told the doors are off the chopper so the paps can get a clear shot of the grounds as they hunt for the troubled singer.

65. That makes me really upset, Britney is trying to get help and a statement has even been released to ask for respect at this time for her and her family. All of this paparazzi stuff really disgusts me when people are in trouble in their lives. They're people too, doesn't anyone understand that? How would these people like it if people were taking their picture at a time like this? Just give her some time to deal with what is going on ALONE, though that seems to be quite a difficult concept doesn't it...

71. I swear the paparazzi kills me.....they make these celebrities crazy! I mean come on give them a little time to get themselves together. I really wish some of the stuff that happens to the celebrities because of the paparazzi happens to the paparazzi families. I am sure they would hate it! 72. Promises is a pretty well-connected center - and if she did go in, she may not even be in Malibu. Let 'em burn $600/hr of chopper time for 3-6 weeks - it can get pretty stanky in a chopper, hoverin' for that long - glad they took the doors off. If she is at Promises Malibu, they'll smell the choppers comin' long before they hear them. As for Brit, it is really up to her, as to how her life goes. They're a top-notch facility (Promises) but all the money in the world can't change a person that isn't wanting to change.

75. why can't everyone just leave her alone. at is as though people want to see her fail, and that is just wrong. she was once so great in everyone's eyes, and a somewhat idol for young girls, why can't we let her get back to that state. it doesn't matter how she needs to get there to succeed. the sad part is, most of the pap have probably or are currently alcoholics, so why don't they chase their own story of their own lives?
