Anna Nicole -- Dissed in Death?

Anna Nicole SmithWith her killer resume packed with hit movies like "Naked Gun 33 1/3," "To the Limit" and of course, the cult classic "Wasabi Tuna," it was a complete shock when the late Anna Nicole Smith turned up missing from Oscar's annual morgue montage.

According to reps from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, a final version of the deceased reel is cut and approved by Febuary 1, and there's only room for about 25 people (last year, more than 130 bought tickets to the big movie theatre in the sky). But what if, god forbid, Tom Hanks or Steven Spielberg had kicked the bucket last week -- would they have made the clip reel?

Guess we'll have to tune in again next year to see if Anna makes the cut!

31. Oh don't worry ANS life will soon be a movie on lifetime, HK$$ is making the deal right now, so the saga continues

32. PLEASE!!!!! ANS was not an actress. She DID NOT deserve to mentioned in the same breath as a lot of those people, many of whom were actually talented & contributed something to their art & society. Although the Oscars were SO boring, it was refreshing to go almost 4 hours without hearing or seeing something about ANS. She was a low life, no talent bimbo.

33. It seems everytime you look around, you've got the stars patting themselves on the back for one thing or another. I felt Anna should have had her picture shown. Maybe they felt she didn't fit into their little circle. In my opinion, I've seen pictures of Anna,
that would have put all those woman to shame. She was indeed,
a very beautiful woman.

35. The media has disparaged Anna Nicole Smith so much that the spotless
(haha) academy members were afraid to acknowledge her. Gutless cowards and snobs. Same mentality as Harvey Levin, just goes along with the crowd's bias.

36. I really wish that everyone would leave her alone. You should'nt speak ill of the dead or make fun of them. Just let her rest in peace. The media is evil!!

37. Well, she did die in 2007... And everything concerning her death is stil raw and speculative now. If they do decide to give her a quick tribute, it will be next year when hopefully most of the dust has settled.

38. I loved ANS --but---Anna was nothing but a pill-popping showy drama queen - and gold digger!!!--- not oscar material!-

39. You're right. I was not surprised that she didn't make it into the montage of actors, however, someone there could have given her passing a brief mention. It is the ultimate snub as,even in death, they're laughing at her efforts. After all, her idol Marilyn Monroe was at least acknowledged in death, although she was no great actress herself. More of a blonde bombshell personality, but, in her day, they were more of a Movie Star than an Actress, and nothing much more was expected of the female actresses, unlike today, when someone who can really act is acknowledged.

40. Harvey Levin, if you and Debra Opri weren't an item as reported, you would be focusing your venom on someone else other than Anna Nicole Smith. You perpetuate misinformation for your own purposes. You people - Levin, Opri, et al - are the reason Shakepseare wanted to kill all the lawyers.

41. To be honest with you....I didn't even notice they had left her out.....I guess it's because, in a way, it seems like she's still here .....oh, that's right she IS STILL HERE in a MORGUE in FLORIDA.

42. Doesn't that segment show who died in 2006, not 2007? The person Jodi mentioned, who died two weeks ago, wasn't part of it either. I'll bet we'll see Anna on the screen next year during the ceremony.

43. That whole segment is pointless. The Hollywood types paying tribute to their own with a fake smattering of uncomfortable applause is lame. Who really expected to see ANS picture flashed up there after the make-up artist who did Bela Lugosi's make-up in the 40's? Saying "Trimspa baby" doesn't make her an actress. People who compare her "body of work" to Marilyn Monroe's are sneaking a sip of what's in her fridge.

44. So are all you people who have your feathers ruffled that they didn't mention ANS going to boycott the Oscars next year? I think not. Get lives people.

45. Last I heard Spieldberg and Tom Hanks are still alive! We're talking about the tribute they give to those in the movie industry who have died in the last 12 months. Most were people nobody in the public knows. We ALL knew Anna NIcole Smith. No, she wasn't a great actress, but last I heard it was a celebrity role call of those who died. Nobody can deny she was a celebrity.
