Anna Nicole -- Dissed in Death?

Anna Nicole SmithWith her killer resume packed with hit movies like "Naked Gun 33 1/3," "To the Limit" and of course, the cult classic "Wasabi Tuna," it was a complete shock when the late Anna Nicole Smith turned up missing from Oscar's annual morgue montage.

According to reps from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, a final version of the deceased reel is cut and approved by Febuary 1, and there's only room for about 25 people (last year, more than 130 bought tickets to the big movie theatre in the sky). But what if, god forbid, Tom Hanks or Steven Spielberg had kicked the bucket last week -- would they have made the clip reel?

Guess we'll have to tune in again next year to see if Anna makes the cut!

31. Anna did noithing her whole life but lie and use men for money and abuse drugs. She is lucky she is even getting this much attention in death.

32. Who cares if they mentioned her or not. People are sick to death (no pun intended) about hearing about her death. They probably didn't want to take attention away from the show by mentioning her. She never went or was invited to the Oscars anyway.

33. Well of course if Hanks or Spielberg kicked the bucket they would have been mentioned. They are both talented oscar winners who attend the show every year. Anna couldn't even tie her shoes without help from buttplug HKS.

34. So are all you people who have your feathers ruffled that they didn't mention ANS going to boycott the Oscars next year? I think not. Get lives people.

35. She should have been mentioned for the work she has done. It amazes me that anyone would trash (as in a few of these posts) a dead woman. Regardless of what she was or appeared to be she wasn't evil.

36. Who cares if they didn't mention her? What did she really do anyway? All you people were calling her fat, ugly, whore before she died anyway. Get lives.

37. They didn't include Chris Penn yesterday because they did so on the 2006 Oscars! Just Google it and see for yourselves. Same time they did Shelley Winters, Pat Morita, etc.

38. To be honest with you....I didn't even notice they had left her out.....I guess it's because, in a way, it seems like she's still here .....oh, that's right she IS STILL HERE in a MORGUE in FLORIDA.

39. Much of the slop Hollywood puts out is overrated and not even acting. All its good for nowadays is remaking films and, now, those films' sequels.

Anna Nicole Smith (have Americans became THAT lazy that they can't even spell out her name??) was not an actress by any stretch of the imagination nor was she an "icon."

Let's keep the facts straight here and not get carried away.

40. That whole segment is pointless. The Hollywood types paying tribute to their own with a fake smattering of uncomfortable applause is lame. Who really expected to see ANS picture flashed up there after the make-up artist who did Bela Lugosi's make-up in the 40's? Saying "Trimspa baby" doesn't make her an actress. People who compare her "body of work" to Marilyn Monroe's are sneaking a sip of what's in her fridge.

41. ANS was not worth reflecting in such a tribute of people that had REAL impact on the medium. Naked Gun was a wide release, but her role was far less than major. THAT'S IT. Her other cinema work is too minor & worthless for such consideration. I WAS mildly surprised that C. Penn was not shown, but not having that pathetic, druggie super-whore Smith on the reel was appropriate. The show was bad enough-- without bringing it down more by heralding that trainwreck as a legitimate peer.

42. I think the Oscar's are just another bloated way of Hollyweirds getting a pat on the back from themselves...No thanks went out to the fans who pay everyones paycheck attending the Oscar's. They didn't add Yvonne DeCarlo, who besides being Mrs. Munster, she was Charleston Heston wife in the 10 commandments...I believe thats the movie...She was a beauty.

43. I think the rules are the person has to be buried to be on the dead credits. By looking at this viedo of anna's body somebody better do somethng with her and SOON!

44. Doesn't that segment show who died in 2006, not 2007? The person Jodi mentioned, who died two weeks ago, wasn't part of it either. I'll bet we'll see Anna on the screen next year during the ceremony.

45. There is too much controvosy surrounding Anna Nicole Smith and the Academy is distancing itself.
She was famous for marrying an octogenarian, fleeing to the Bahahas avoiding whatever, drugs, a son predeceasing her and giving birth to her gorgeous daughter - I suppose the Academy didnt think that warranted a mention on Oscars night
