Anna Nicole -- Dissed in Death?

Anna Nicole SmithWith her killer resume packed with hit movies like "Naked Gun 33 1/3," "To the Limit" and of course, the cult classic "Wasabi Tuna," it was a complete shock when the late Anna Nicole Smith turned up missing from Oscar's annual morgue montage.

According to reps from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, a final version of the deceased reel is cut and approved by Febuary 1, and there's only room for about 25 people (last year, more than 130 bought tickets to the big movie theatre in the sky). But what if, god forbid, Tom Hanks or Steven Spielberg had kicked the bucket last week -- would they have made the clip reel?

Guess we'll have to tune in again next year to see if Anna makes the cut!

61. I agree...I was surprised she was not included...obviously she was well known in the biz or the story of her death wouldn't have non-stop coverage. Perhaps there would be more time to honor the deceased if the Oscars didn't waste so much time on Gore and his political agenda. Hmmm...oddly enough, I thought the Oscars were about acting, not politics. Gore disgusts me, and as for his documentary....if the planet is getting so hot...how come this is the coldest winter in years....you goon!

62. Hahaha---I'm glad that the Mother is fighting this!! Good for you Vergie!!! The Judge totally discredited her and pushed her aside---and the lawyers made her out like a pee on! She has rights-- being the birth Mother to Anna--and her grandson is down there too.....
Why go by Howards wishes? Just because he bought the plots? They weren't married!
Anna and Daniel don't belong in the Bahama's!!- I know on the stand that LB had a difficult time with that question-Anna and Daniel should be bureid together in the states! I've been thinking all along this way--no matter how much she gets trashed--I'm on her side!! --
Anna says she hated her Mom-- only cos her Mom was right--if anything -Anna hated herself- she couldn't beat the drugs that overwhelmed her life and took it over- she was out of control-- the drugs controled her---she- pushed everyone away when they wanted her to quit..... Howard was about the only one left- that made sure she got pills/drugs to feed her addiction--such a good guy!!--No wonder Anna hung on to him---including having a live-in lawyer benifited her to her needs......
I hope Vergie wins her case!

64. It does not matter if the Academy gave her a farewell with all the others because we all relize that she is dead and she is getting more air time than having A snot from the academy say her name further more. As for next year we will be hearing her name fo years to come because like dianna the whole world is mourning her I just wish Vergie would let her go and go back to texas I know she's the mother, but Anna was a Mother as well and she belongs next to her loved one and that is Daniel.

65. JUST AS REQUIRED FOR THE AWARDS... IT ONLY APPLIES TO MOVIES AND DEATHS AS OF THE END OF 2006!!!! THE REEL WAS COMPLETED A LONG TIME PRIOR TO THE EVENT, PROBABLY AS EARLY AS MID JANUARY!
THE EVENT IS OSCARS 2007 FOR MOVIES FROM 2006, SAME CRITERIA FOR POSTHUMOUS REEL.

NEED TO WAIT FOR 2008 OSCARS (WHICH REFLECTS 2007 DEATHS) TO SEE IF THEY INCLUDE ANS.

66. I wonder how many people can even name one of the films or TV shows she was on without reading it here or going to imdb?

Even though it is sad what happened to Anna, she does not deserve to be in the company of the people honered in the Oscar's annual RIP montage.

67. How many times does it have to be said? Anna died after the film was finished on Feb. 1st. Its not a conspiracy. Chris Penn on the other hand deserved to be included.

68. Who gives a goat fart that she wasn't mentioned? What did she ever do to garner a shout out at such an A list event? Damn it fools!

69. Everyone knows the academy is filled with snooty snots. Do you honestly think they would include her? They sh*t bigger then her and her desperate attempts to be rich and famous by lying, f***ing old men, etc......... Look where it got her.

70. ANS wasn't an actress at all. She had minor parts in a few movies. The oscars weren't obligated to mention her. They may next year but I wouldn't hold my breath.

71. Hey DUMBASSES:
Being a pole dancing whore with a SAG card does not qualify you for being "remembered" when you die at the Oscars. Think of all the waiters. waitresses, cab drivers, barristas, and "adult entertainers" who have SAG cards, die and no one gives a warm wet fart about. ANS was NOT an actress of any note, sorry acting like you like giving an old man a BJ and changing his diaper does not count!

72. I was shocked to. Maybe her roles weren't that big but if O.J died I'm sure somewere there would have said something . What about Leslie Nelsion I sure he would of been mention. She did a few movies. Look at Kate Moss she was caught doing rails and shes even a bigger star now. Also Chris Penn. I guess if you only caught on the front page then you make it

73. Is this story a joke? Anna Nicole Smith has no business being featured on the Oscars, dead or alive. This seems like a desperate attempt to fill space on the site when you can't find any other real news. Pathetic!

74. She may not have been a great actress, but she was in movies and had her share of followers. It doesn't matter if she was liked, disliked, or an embarrassment - she still should have been recognized. It's a shame that she wasn't and the Oscars excuse was lame.....VERY LAME. They could have mentioned her & should have - they just didn't choose to. Not that I was ever a big fan of Anna's, but she was entertaining and deserved to be recognized. Makes me kind of sad in a way - her whole life was tragic as is her death.
