Court Says Not So Fast, Body Going Nowhere

A Florida appeals court issued a stay Monday in the dispute over Anna Nicole Smith's body, ruling that her remains cannot be moved to the Bahamas until the court hears a challenge from the former Playmate's estranged mother, Virgie Arthur.

Arthur had filed a motion with Judge Larry Seidlin, asking him to reconsider Friday's ruling which paved the way for Anna to be buried on the Bahamas. He denied that request. Arthur also filed an appeal with the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, which has now agreed to hear the challenge.

77. Just curious, has anyone here every had a falling out with a relative, mother, father, brother, sister. Anna didn't want her Mom or Larry in her life because they didn't approve of her drug use. All the same, for some it is important to have a grave site to go to. That can't be done in the Bahamas. Daniel was buried there because she and Howard were avoiding the paternity issue. He didn't like the Bahamas and he didn't live there. He's buried on foreign soil. None of his friends or family can visit his grave. The mother and son can buried next to each other on U.S. soil. They wave a mess of a web and it's their fault the courts have to spend so much time unraveling the mess.

80. My mom called to tell me that she will bury me where ever it is that I want to be. She said even is she was my only next of kin ( or how ever that is stated) she wouldl see to it that my wishes were carried out and everyone knows how close my mom and I are. So, how can a woman who has not had anything to do with her daughter or grandson have any right to where they are buried. I don't care if it was Virgies choice or Anna'a choice not to speak to each other, the point is Anna said " that woman is not my mother, she is my birth mother but not my mother. It seems she depised that woman!!!!!!!!!!!

89. Are you freaking kidding me?! Let the poor lady rest and make this crazy ass lady who NOW wants to be a mom (read: white trash, money hungry woman). She lied on the stand about getting money for the video and who paid for her AND a reporter to go to Daniel's gravesite, and pretended to be ignorant and/or stupid. The baby needs to be with her father so get the paternity test done and settle this whole mess once and for all.

90. I think after reading the court papers to the Court of Appeals, the public will see that it is a good legal argument on Vergie's part and she should be the next of kin! I think that judge Seidlin is interesting and would like to see him on court Tv shows (couldn't resist that comment).
